  1. Supra has been running a while now, but it is really lumpy and kind of cuts in and out quite violently in the second turbo? Anyone have any ideas? Want to try and sort it before tax runs out in october as im thinking of taking it off the road and repainting it! Also does anyone know if the paint that they come with is a single stage or a paint/lacqeur?
  2. All up and running now, loads of power! Thanks to mwilkinson for a pair of used turbos!
  3. youll have to excuse my ignorance, but im reasonably new to the supra and turbo world! what are hybrid turbos?
  4. what sort of budget are we talking though? im assuming with manifolds and all the other kit it will be quite expensive? plus im assuming there will be some ecu remapping involved?
  5. yeah thats a possibility. do you know anywhere that would sell the standard ones or a direct replacement? also do you know what manufacturer / model they are as standard?
  6. fair one, dont suppose you know what the standard turbos are on a supra to get a price on replacements?
  7. hi all, some of you may have seen my supra revival thread, basically ive acquired a supra that has been sat for about 8 years, ive got it all running and taxed and tested, but found out it was mega low on power. just got the front off of the forward turbo and its seized solid. havent gotten to the rear one yet, but there is zero pressure coming out so im assuming they are both seized, will find out when i finally get it all off! my predicament now is do i convert it to single or replace both the turbos? im not really interested in going mental with horsepower or anything. id be happy if it had the same bhp has standard to be honest, so i was wondering where would be the best place to go for the parts, how much would both routes roughly cost, etc, etc, Also very interested in any parts people would have for sale in this area if anyone has some used (good) parts to get rid of? Im not looking to break the bank on this, as if you see my other thread the bodywork isnt in the greatest condition (understatement) and im still considering what i will do with it long term. thanks for any advice!
  8. Hi all, found the issue! Appears to have both turbos seized solid! Must be a testament to toyota that it ran so well like that! Im now faced with a predicament. Do i replace both turbos and keep it as a twin, or do i just forget it and go single? Where would be a good place to look for a single conversion, baring in mind i dont want to have to get a mortgage to do it! And where would be the best place to get 2 replacement turbos to stay as a twin?
  9. id better add that it has no misfire and no unusual noises, no smoke, everything seems fine except that its slow. only engine fault cde that comes up is 42 which i believe is just a speed sensor?
  10. its not really like its being limited, as it takes forever to get there too, gonna run some injector cleaner through it tomorrow, and change the fuel pressure regulator if i can get one
  11. Heya guys, finally got a chance to do some work on the soop, and its all fully mot'd and running now, need to get some new rear shocks though if anyone has any suggestions on which to get? The only other problem im having is that the car is really flat when it drives. It wont rev past 6000 rpm at all, and id goes as far as saying its actually slower than my is200 at the moment. Really struggles to get past 100mph, any ideas?
  12. Sorry theres been no activity lately, been working my ass off at work! Finally got a day off and fitted some incidentals, wiper blades etc, does anyone know where i can get some bonnet pull cables from?
  13. Brakes and alternator done, road test soon!
  14. Long term im not entirely sure on my plan, but itll definitely stay black and i quite like the shape of the standard car to be honest,
  15. a quick update on the progress: new alternator and rear calipers here, just got to fit them, and ive vinyled the roof for now with gloss black vinyl, just until i can afford to put some paint on it! so its not looking too bad, need some new tyres before the mot though!
