  1. I have said the box is missing - I was referring to evinX who said he'd want it with the gearbox for £800
  2. Yeah right - manual box conversions start at £1000 - I'll buy as many as you can supply.
  3. Here are some pics when I was using it I removed the awful bodykit and bought the parts required to put it back to standard but never got the time
  4. I can dig some out, this isn't a sale thread so just in general terms is a Supra that's missing the bits I listed worth £500, £1000, £1500 etc I can see what bits and bobs fetch in the classifieds but I haven't seen any incomplete or damaged cars for sale (otherwise I'd have bought one)
  5. I had intended to build my Supra into a V8 but that isn't going to happen so I've currently got a complete facelift Supra with minor damage to NS wings and missing : gearbox, diff, brakes and suspension. So can anyone tell me what this would be worth ? I suspect it's worth far more in parts but it seems a shame scrap an otherwise good car. Whichever way I go I'll put the relevant ads in the Classifieds but as the National meet is a Wroxall Abbey which is within 5 miles I thought I'd better make me mind up asap Equally if anyone knows of someone with a damaged Supra I'd happily make one good car out of the two.
  6. I suspect the UK ones have only gone down because their prices were previously inflated by demand from Europe. Now they are in a financial mess too, that UK specific demand has decreased - hence so have prices. For an old car, Supra prices (particularly NA) are really quite high IMO
  7. ^^^This seems pretty accurate. I've been looking at all the variants for a while before buying mine. Mostly depends on how long you want to wait, how far you will travel and how fast you can move when you see a bargain. I missed a red NA, Manual, FSH, one owner for 12 yrs in red for £2k
  8. I have tried it in different positions if that's what you mean. I did search and saw that thread but couldn't quite understand what he meant - perhaps it's obvious once I remove the steering plastics I saw a mechanic friend today and he thinks it's just the tilt mech (although there is a small amount of play and a small noise from the rack) he thinks it's acceptable - maybe I need to try another supra. I have also seen many complain the steering is too light and mine's heavy (235/40/17 fitted, 96 facelift) I like it but I wonder if it points to a problem ? I have also noticed that the ign barrel moves approx 15mm when the steering lock is engaged - it seems to be simply clamped onto the column with the 2 anti tamper bolts. So I presume they have worked a little loose - so that's another little job - dremel the ends and replace them. The column doesn't move but I tightened up the 4 bolts anyway.
  9. It worrys me slightly that it can peel off so easily. How well does it stand up to daily use ? Obviously not an issue on the dash but around the gearlever etc is likely to get "touched"
  10. Fluid hasn't helped. Is there a (replaceable) bush in the steering column ?
  11. Had a good look today. What fits around the mouth / rad intake of the bumper ? Mine has holes top and bottom and nothing to fit to. Is all that holds the bumper on the two side strips and the top strip by the rad ? Doesn't seem much
  12. Yes I checked everything when I bought it, it was over filled (right to the top) I just syphoned some out - I guess changing it is as good a place to start as any. I've never had a PS problem in 20yrs and 100+ cars and have never changed PS fluid so it'll be a first.
  13. Hi, My steering wheel (NA facelift) has a bit of up and down play in it (couple of mm)- is this usual due to the tilt facility ? Also something doesn't feel right when driving it I can't tell what exactly, just that something isn't right. It's most obvious when reversing out of a parking space and turning the wheel quickly and it feels like there is gravel in the rack - not the best description but I was hoping it might be a known issue. Thanks
  14. Thanks I'll have a look at the bumper and car to see what's there / missing
  15. I'm putting my Supra back to OEM and I have some OEM side vent covers but 90% of the clips are missing / broken. Are these still available to buy or do people just bond them on (sikaflex ?) Thanks
  16. You realise you are only talking about a 10mm difference or roughly 4% The difference will be negligible.
  17. I once had an exhaust come apart at the downpipe. People on the pavement ducked as I went past, they thought it was a low flying plane !
  18. Hi, My Supra currently has a Veilside nosecone on it and I want to swap it back to OEM. I have an OEM nosecone but before I remove the veilside I wondered if anyone could tell me if I'm likely to need any other parts as I'd like to do it in one go rather than have the car off the road. If anyone has any pics so I can see what should be there that would be great. I'm thinking bumper reinforcing strips, plastic ducting any special fixings etc Thanks
  19. Well as BMW gave the M3 (which makes 300ish bhp) a new box. I'd suggest it won't reliably hold 300.
  20. I've never heard of dipping car parts - what exactly are they dipped in ?
  21. Thanks I'd actually read all that before and hadn't realised that to Join / Register you had to hit the Paypal button.
