  1. Thats the kind of thing I wanted to see!
  2. Very Interesting cheers for the thoughts and opinions! With regards to an s13 always feeling like the back end will go yes possibly on a poorly set up one, although I did drive mine when it was stock and I thought it was pretty good! Mine has far more suspension mods than most s13s run and I haven't driven anything that handles like it, then again im sure a suitably sorted supra would be very good to, s13 spec below for suspension: ohlins coilovers apex adjustable front and rear anti roll bars apex poly steering rack bushes apex solid steering bush apex adjustable front tension rod with poly bushes apex rear camber arm with polybushes and gktech eccentric lock out bolts apex rear toe arm with poly bushes and gktech eccentric lock out bolts apex rear traction arm with polybushes hardrace subframe bushes hardrace hub knuckle bushes hardrace rear lower arm bushes hardrace front lower arm bushes hardrace roll centre correcting ball joints front and rear hardrace roll centre correcting tie rod ends cusco front strut brace rear x brace with strut and c pillar brace 255 toyo r1r rear tyres and 235 r1r fronts
  3. Interesting I disagree a bit about the evo requiring no skill what so ever to drive, true it is far easier to drive fast than a fast rwd car but it still takes some skill to drive it properly quick above 8 tenths, however I did end up selling mine for similar reasons as it does get boring having nigh on infinite grip! I love my s13 its just me driving the car basically not to mention its pretty quick with 320bhp and less than 1200kgs. I just imagine the supra as a higher potential 200sx with a bit more weight?
  4. Yeh ive spoken to someone locally with a supra who reckoned my s13 would probably be faster down the b roads simply due to the weight.
  5. Im more worried about the handling on the supra is it comparable to an s13 obviously its not going to be able to run with an evo on a twisty road.
  6. Hi guys ive owned a 410bhp evo 8 fq360mr and currently own a 320bhp s13. Im thinking of getting a bpu supra next year around 400bhp ish and was just wondering if anyone on here has owned either a 200sx or an evo and how do they compare?
  7. Love rx7s just do not like rotay engines unfortunately so unless it had an ls v8 swapped in it wouldnt be great for me.
  8. Some good posts this will be a road car for me i have a sorted s13 for track use It seems that the supra would suit my needs more going on whats said above although id still love a shot of an s2k.
  9. cheers for replys guys, ginno was ure s2k on stock suspension? So on the bends in the dry you would say the supra is better, does it feel as sharp to drive, obviously its a bit less nimble.
  10. Yeh well I owned a dc2 integra before my evo 8 and I liked the way the power came in when you were driving hard very fun although nowhere near the speed of the evo. Obviously the s2k isnt in the same league as far as power is concerned but I wouldn't imagine a supra could keep up on the twisty stuff due to its weight? Out of curiosity what does a jdm supra weigh ive got a figure of 1458kgs but this may be for the uk car?
  11. Never driven either but id imagine with an infinite budget the twins would have less lag and be better for anything provided they are running the same power.
  12. Basically while looking for a new road car I have narrowed it down to a honda s2000 or a supra tt, I know these cars vary quite a bit however my main concern is with handling. Has anyone driven both a supra tt and an s2000 to comment on how they compare in cornering grip, steering feel, braking ability and feel and the ease of control? From what ive heard the s2000 is a handling king and the supra is apparently a bit of a whale in the corners however I cant imagine a car with such a high skid pad rating, many gt500 wins and high praise from magazines not handling good!
  13. I see I know you can get polybushes which are only 20% stiffer for some cars so these may be suitable. My idea for the car was in theory to get a set of new bilsteins with new springs, new bushes and eventually a set of titan motorsport adjustable arbs. Chris is your suspension set up based on coilovers or what?
  14. Cheers for the reply I was meaning a set of polybushes albeit the softest ones you can get as from previous experience they can ruin road cars nvh.
  15. Off topic but david p what cars the engine start stop out of?

    Alright!

Hi guys new member signed up today and paid my membership plus ordered a calendar Looking at selling my evo 8 fq340 mr in order to get a nice tt supra with hopes to bpu it then maby 600bhp+ single in future Hopefully it wont disappoint!
  17. If I get a supra the first thing to be done will be getting every bush replaced, a new set of bilstein shocks and new springs and a set of nice wheels with wider front and rear performance tyres Any supra kicking about will be running on Knackered bushes if they haven't been replaced FACT! So are you saying the bilsteins were an option on the jdm cars? Also do you know if the jdm springs are a firmer rate or is it the same as the uk cars also are the geometry settings the same? What about the arbs?
  18. Hi guys just joined up today as im debating whether to sell my evo 8 fq340mr to buy a mkiv supra. Long story short I am very interested in the differences between the uk and jdm suspension set up. I noticed the jdm cars have bilstein shocks which are supposed to be stiffer (can anyone confirm this?) do both cars have the same arb thicknesses, the same spring rates (what are the uk and jsm spring rates?) and the same suspension geometry settings? Also has anyone ever done a back to back test to compare the suspension with regards to handling and ride quality? Before anyone says it im not interested in fitting aftermarket suspension ive been doing it for years on my previous cars and all of it makes the car slower on the road due to the inability to cope with bumps etc plus its a lot of work trying to work out new roll centers (which cant be properly fixed without modifying the hub knuckles) and to get adjustable arms to correct the toe and camber. Cheers guys
