  1. Is this the answer to all our uncertainty? http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_info.php?cPath=334&products_id=320&osCsid=ecb1339933d6f261b323c3c966ec7d00 Fit one of these. Instant cat!
  2. Considering your opinions it still looks like a grey area. I am looking for a definitive answer to the question and I don't think there is one. I still don't accept that given the wording in section 7.1 of the MOT Inspection Manual, that my pre-95 NA/T doesn't need to have a cat because it does not qualify for a full cat emissions test.
  3. Yes I know that this has been discussed in various forms before, but I have never really seen a definitive answer. Is it a legal requirement to have a catalytic converter on a 2JZGE engine? My friendly MOT man says that while he will happily give my car a certificate (a long-standing family friend) which is an NA/T, he does say that a catalytic converter should not be missing when one was fitted as standard. However, in the MOT inspection manual which I have trawled through tonight off the VOSA website, in section 7.1 The Exhaust System it states that; On vehicles that qualify for a full cat emissions test, check the presence of the catalytic converter. Since a pre July 1995 does not require a full cat emissions test, is it therefore exempt from having a catalytic converter? For those of you who have not fallen asleep reading this, I know it sounds a bit anal but it really is bugging me. I would like to know how other members interpret the ruling.
  4. How about extra virgin olive?
  5. or you could just rev the nuts off the thing and see how much attraction you get:)
  6. At least the ad has been written correctly. None of the usual chav language and poor spelling. Like everyone else, I would be suspicious but it may be worth pursuing a bit further for those who are interested.
  7. Well they say that God loves a tryer.
  8. Wow. That man should feel very proud - he did a superb job. I would like to see the exhaust go either side of the rear body, but that's just me being a bit feng shui.
  9. Thanks guys. Thats good to know

    HT Leads

Hi I need to change my HT leads. Is it an easy fix?
  11. That is crazy driving. It would take very little to lose it and wipe out those people watching. Totally stupid and defiantly not funny.
  12. Even if I could drift. i'm too tight to pay for the rubber.

    Headlights

Mine cleaned up quite well but I still ended up buying a new pair of glass units. Money well spent because they look fantastic.
  14. Not my taste but hey whatever floats your boat. Thats what makes life intresting.
  15. It depends on how far you want to go. I have gone NA/T because the car I bought is in immaculate condition and being and old git I wanted a powerful car without going into silly land chasing massive power and spending many thousands of pounds. My boost kit has cost around £2400 fitted and tuned and puts out around 340hp at 7psi and is therefore around the same performance as a stock TT. I have learned a massive amount from doing a lot of the work myself and have enjoyed most of the process. I am happy now just to keep adding shiny bits and have the added bonus of having a non-cat emissions test just to make life a bit easier. I realize however that what suits me though is probably not going to be enough for most of you on here.
  16. Emerald K6 is cheap. Anyone have any experience with it?
  17. My NA/T conversion was set up with a borrowed Haltech pnp ECU but my tuner wants it back at some point. I would like to buy one but they aint cheap.
  18. Can anyone tell me what the cheapest stand alone ecu is please?
  19. That is correct and is the point I was making in the first place. The post 94 cars have much tighter restrictions.

  21. Think You'll find that a 2jzgte will need a full emmisions test
  22. There aren't too many advantages in having an na but being able to have a non-cat emmisions test in my 94 na-t project is definitely one of them. With a 3.5% CO and 1200ppm HC limit for the mot there's no more putting a cat back in for me. Does anyone know the scrap value for a cat?
  23. I'll take the ariel, pm me your payment details, thanks
