  1. I use competition car insurance, when I was 27 was paying 450 for a 650hp supra, now paying 190 for my UK, I'm 29 now. They have always been by far the cheapest for me. And don't hike the price up at all for highly modded cars...
  2. Many thanks! Shall have a look now, then shall pop down to srd in the next month or so and hopefully get started. Thanks for everyone above for their comments and views too
  3. Many thanks for the comments, plenty of routes to go down. Shall read up on the different turbos etc. Investing in a built auto box would happen down the lin.
  4. so, im not chasing numbers but looking for the best set-up for low down speed - 0-60/ 0-100. You have a budget of around 5 - 7k with SRD doing most of the work, so that has to come into the budget too... your current set-up is a uk spec auto, currently running bpu with syvec's, hks fuel rail, fmi etc. know the weak link is going to be the auto box but hoping the syvec can help prelong its life if running single with lots of torque. ( i will upgrade the box to a srd one down the line so isnt a big issue if auto box dose go - it was re-built 5k ago so should last awhile) so your opinions on the best route to go, what set-ups would you go for etc? or would you feel the budget needs to be higher? im not after the 'perfect' setup as i do want to keep to a sensible budget. any pointers would be great!
  5. Also interested in this...
  6. the orange car was bought from scotland for 9k several years ago, then appeared on their website for 14 jm imports or the for sale section on here is the only two places you need for a great supra
  7. many thanks for your replays! shall give this a go at the weekend!
  8. Right, so I left the car a couple of days with the battery disconnected, connected it all, tried jumping the car and just clicks constantly. Cant be battery as it's brand new, guessing starter motor has decided to die..?
  9. Cheers, I have a volt meter, shall look into parasitic drain test. Thanks for the advice..
  10. So something is draining my battery... Has a new battery, alternator is reading 14volts so it's neither the batter or alternator.. if I leave the car over night it's dead by the morning... Jumped the car earlier, battery read 4.25 turned the car off within ten mins read 2.5... Anyone know what's draining the battery? has a car 1 alarm... I disconnected the subs etc so not that.. any help be great.
  11. I'm in the bognor area if that's of any use...
  12. I'm I'm west Sussex and would be up for this depending on date of course
  13. i dont mean the main beam bulb.. if you look at the drivers side head unit, the first light on the left.. nearest the wing.. is a small LEd looking bulb.. has two pins, one longer than the other..
  14. so i have a uk 94 supra and it failed its mot on a front position lamp not working and a arm ball joint dust cover.. simple things i thought,, after being to several places for this lamp bulb no where has it or even seen such a bulb... i got tell monday to find one or to use a different bulb.. dose anyone know where i can find one or if a different more common bulb will fit? or is their a local uk supra owner local to me who would like to lend me theirs!!
  15. haha, it would indeed Graham! yeah Lee showed me them when i was down their the other day... they do look really good!
  16. yeah what im hoping! just doing all the body work atm then shall decide on where to take the engine, liking the look of the hybrid twins that are being developed..
  17. cheers! wasnt sure how they would turn out, but really happy with the results
  18. so over the last week i decided that i was either going to buy some new headlights or refurbish the original ones as they had mold and water on the inside.. i decided i would give refurbish them as wanted to keep the glass units. so me and a friend went about taking them apart and giving them some new life... what they looked like on the car; closer look at the chrome peeling now taking them apart... removed all the seals on the rear and bulbs.. now into the oven.. did them at 180 for 8 mins.. took them out, using two flat heads praised the glass away from the unit, came apart pretty easy this was the worst part.. grade 600 sand paper to remove the chrome.. after a long time later and all the chrome removed it was time for the primer.. we did 4 layers of this with 20 mins intervals from each layer let this dried for 24 hours and was time to paint them.. we decided not to go chrome and to try matt black instead.. felt it would be a nice contrast to to the red car...worst case would be just having to re-do all this again! so on went the paint.. again 4 layers with 20 min gaps.. let this dry, decided to keep the reflectors chrome to break up the matt.. then time to put them all back together.. basically in reverse of the earlier steps, had to put the rubber seals back on.. and here they are... im pretty happy with them, just need a good polish then i will put them back on the car once the weather allows me to! if someone could embed these images would be really greatful
  19. Love the colour, looks nice and clean
  20. front splitter.. if you can pm me a price too, cheers

    LED dash

sure someone can point me in the right direction.. several of my bulbs have gone on my dash and tbh i dont really like the yellowish lights anyway.. can anyone point me in the direction of where to get a complete set.. inc the heater controls/windows/door lock/speedo/key etc. looking for bright white or blue. many thanks in advance
  22. was down SRD the other day and Lee showed me the paddles in an supra he has down here.. looks very smart indeed, sure he will post some pictures up. something ill be looking into in the future for sure
  23. not around that area, was north London.. got some bumper washers now so going to fit them onto the bumper the headlights are in poor condition with the chrome pealing off and condensation so going to taken them apart, respray them and hopefully seal them back up. undecided if i should go black on the inside or keep it original
  24. last week i took the car up to lee (SRD) so he could have a look over it for me and hopefully inform me i had got a good deal! picked the car up today, luckily nothing bad to report on it. Has been correctly mapped with several settings up to 1.5bar,new rad fitted, a good service and the usual SRD treatment.. so a big thanks to Lee for his usual great service and booking me in at short notice! so here are some picture's of the car as she currently stands; for the short time i dont have anything too big planned for it, just want to tidy up the engine bay, sort out the paint and get a toucan display fitted. so thats it for the time being, thought i would get up a thread on here as we all like pictures and i always enjoy to read what other people are doing to their supras, thought i would do the same! hopeing to just give it a good clean over this weekend and get the underneath under-sealed, i dont intend to use it over the winter but i just have OCD when it comes to anything like that. Lee showed me the underneath and is very clean for the age so i intend to keep it that way
