  1. Hi guys my radiator get very hot and shoots up boiling hot coolant after driving for very short amount of time, and it steams a lot, 10 minutes of driving will do this... I checked my lower radiator hose and its still cold while the top part is hot, so I think it should be the thermostat. I purchased the thermostat and will attempt changing it. It seems like it is located beside the alternator area? I'm going to jack the car up and try changing it from the bottom, how hard is it to access the thermostat on the 2JZ-GTE? cheers
  2. I called my friend and he checked, its Torsen my question is: can I take it out of his differential, then put his differential back together so it works? I then wanted to use this differential for my GS400 lexus open diff. thank you!
  3. from research I was able to gather they come standard with LSD? just wanted to find out if that swap will work, cheers guys.
  4. My friend bought a 1996.7 SZ-R 6-speed Supra. This is the facelift version. Does anyone know if this car should come with LSD? He got it for cheap but everything works good, he will be using the cars chassis of the car since his other Supra was in a big accident. He will be transfering most of his parts on the new chassis. ASSUMING it has LSD. Is it possible to remove the LSD. Then when its removed put it in a GS400 3.26 open differenital. Then when his LSD is removed his differential can be put back together and work normally (without LSD)? he will be driving the car around for a bit before he rips it apart he said. I bought a GS400 differential because I still have the 4.30 5-speed differential. My car was swapped about 8 years ago. It feels very sluggish with the super short gearing.
  5. I viewed your paint thread about a month ago when browsing the forum, it looks stunning. I have considered bayside as well but RSP is more of a favorite for me.
  6. hmmmm.. I'll have some thinking to do. I would like to stay unique. Doing RSP would be unique not many people have this colour. I may also get the OEM JDM sides if I do decide to go with RSP.
  7. I can attain this look rather easy I have the same kit, but this RSP seems to be fadded no? or maybe its just the pictures/lighting. http://www.students.stedwards.edu/ccormie/RSP%20supra.jpg and no yellow looks great but a bit too flashy for a city car
  8. I have considered gold but I would get bored if it I know that for sure. I have literally considered every colour. From my personal choice those two colours and that's it! Colour does come down to personal choice I just wanted to see what will suite my car from other opinions. I have considered the do-luck bumper since it looks aggressive but my TS one is nice as well. here's some pictures of my car. I am fairly active on the US Supra forum so maybe some of you have seen me there. I am actually in Canada... but decided to join here since It will be easier to find some goodies for my JDM Supra. I did this photoshoot a couple days ago. The TRD wing I have is not mounted at the moment. Also I am waiting for my new deep rish rims to come in. http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1670/img0916qo.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8684/img0996hq.jpg http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/3025/img1053gh.jpg
  9. do you guys think JDM sides would look better instead of top secret with RSP?
  10. Yes but balloon white is a pearly color. hmm this is hard I don't know.
  11. Currently black, practically every pannel or part of the body has a small rust spot, dent, or scratch. So a new paint job is needed! Top secret front bumper, sides, diffuser, CF mirrors, TRD wing, and awating new work wheels. Rear fenders will have some arch work done (extended). So I am rocking the full top secret kit. I am either looking at LAMBORGHINI BALLOON WHITE or RSP FACTORY COLOUR. I have looked and debated which color It makes sense most to repaint it as. I was looking into some Grey codes, red, etc.. but the ones listed above are my final two choices and personal favorites. I am leaning towards RSP but my main concern is getting the correct paint. I would like a very crisp blue color... but it seems like sometimes RSP looks a bit purple'ish. Picture 1-3 is exactly the kind of color I would like. So RSP is my first choice and Balloon white is my second. What do you guys think will look best on a Top Secret kit. http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2999/29767910150349343723834.jpg http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/7263/dscn1057w.jpg http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/5704/ridoxsupra.jpg http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4764/5852032556de099a6ac4b.jpg http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/6431/img9329i.jpg http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/5263/img9337t.jpg http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/2995/img9725c.jpg http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/7316/lbb42e36944644f8abb9f1e.jpg
  12. Posting this for a friend as I'm not too sure what to say about it. We weighed his OEM TT rims they were about 25lbs up front and 26.6 in the back. He's looking to order one piece rims... fronts are 27lbs(19x9.5) rear 28lbs(19x10.5). So each corner will have a couple pounds more on it compared to stock. I have read somewhere that adding like 1lb of weight on rims = 3lbs overall to the car? something to do with unsprung weight. Anyone know if a couple pounds on each will will noticeable affect performance? Before I had light 18" volk wheels, when I put heavier 19" on I noticed the car handled more responsive and sharp... but those volks were really light.
  13. what are you running the front? I am looking at 19x9.5 +22 with 245/35
  14. Yes thank you, your car is stunning. I bought some work wheels from the US in similar offsets. I will be running a 285 in the rear, stock camber. So I know it will require some modification.
  15. Hey mates just ordered some 19" work wheels. Very aggressive setup. I have a Top Secret diffuser mounted. Also the stock plastic pieces that wrap partly up the wheel well behind the tyre. My question is do I need this? is there any purpose for it? The Supra came with the TS diffuser mounted already on top of the plastic pieces. My friend will be pulling the whole fender outlined in yellow. that plastic piece gets in the way a bit that's why I ask. I also wanted to get rid of the flat shape that runs above the wheel. Wanted to get the whole thing pulled and nice and round. I found this picture on the forum: http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/4971/dscn3887w.jpg
