  1. Haha - yeah I meant 2.5kΩ Cheers mate
  2. Reset my ECU again and no stalling or flashing Slip Cont, so everything is working as it should and has been for 2 weeks now :-) As for the problems I was having - My first thought was to do the odo bypass, but glad I took the time to check the odo unit itself (not that there is anything wrong with bypassing - as It obviously works) but IMO, for how long it takes to remove, it's worth checking the unit for dry joints etc... :-)
  3. It was the SLD that was causing the problem - All sorted now :-)
  4. When I fixed the resistor on my odo, I knew I had sorted at least one of my problems because the power steering was light all the time, and soldering the resistor fixed that, but the O/D off and Slip Cont lights didn't go away untill I reset the ecu again....Just a thought.
  5. No mine isn't a facelift....and yes you would of thought changing the speedo would of eliminated that
  6. I recently had both O/D off and Slip Cont lights flashing all the time, not straight away from start up, and it turned out to be a surface mount resistor on the odometer that had broken free. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?273028-Code-42-fixed-Now-slip-control-flashes-and-car-stalls Not saying it will be the same for you but thought I'd share
  7. "I've also changed the speedo over temporarily, and have basically only succeeded in making the problem go away for the first 30 seconds that the car is started. Essentially, until the problem manifests itself manu appears to work, as does snow mode." Not trying to be cheeky!!!
  8. Ok I should have checked the fuses first but presumed that because the rest of my cluster works and the fact that the speedo lights up that it was all getting power....Will check the fuses though. Cheers.
  9. As title, jump started my supra now the speedo doesn't work. It all lights up so I can only presume it is getting power to it but it doesn't register the speed. There is a Thor SLD / Convertor fitted and was wondering if I might have damaged this.....would that cause this problem. Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Nick.
  10. Has it displayed any fault codes?
  11. I have a walbro 255 (not that it matters) and I can't hear it prime when inside the car - but still worth checking I guess
  12. Is there a way I can disable the slip control properly and fully without just taking the 'trac fuse' out so I can rule out whether it's the slip control causing it without stressing my auto box? Cheers.
  13. Hi all, Yesterday I found out what was causing my 'code 42' - Turned out the solder on one of the surface mount resistors had cracked completely on my odometer (as seen in pics below) I took off the resistor (242 - 2.4kΩ) - then lost it - So used the closest I could find which was 2.5Ω. Soldered it on and no more 'code 42' and my power steering wasn't light all the time. Since doing this my car had stalled 3 times, randomly, and the slip control has started flashing but no 'code 42' etc.... I know the resistor values aren't the same but being so close wouldn't of thought it would cause this problem, especially with it not throwing any codes.??? Any idea's??? My car is a j-spec auto TT, Mines ecu - so no SLD. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/528824_10150940822053020_463752792_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/539740_10150940804738020_1636205653_n.jpg
