  1. I'd take a guess that your traction control ecu took a dump, I opened mine and it was leaking everywhere.
  2. I did them that same year actually. I forgot to follow up for some reason...
  3. Cam seals were the cause of my oil leak, not the relief valve. Did them while doing a timing belt change.
  4. Forgot to update this. Car just needed timing belt and tensioner etc changed, did them and was fine no more noise
  5. Had the same issue about a year ago leaking fluid from the union area, ordered that O-ring Chris Wilson mentioned and it hasn't leaked a drop since.
  6. IIRC left line is pressure line. I Disconnected the hose on the right when i did my trans+cooler flush.
  7. My traction control ecu went before my engine ecu. I just solved my reverse issue by changing to a good working engine ecu. My ecu caps leaked and caused shifting problems. Jack up the car and disconnect the solenoid wiring to the transmission. Check if there is no problem with reverse when unplugged. My hunch is your ecu is on the way out just like mine was.
  8. Should be receiving an ecu from a forum member soon. Fingers X:ecstatic: Installed the ecu i received, no more hard starts or shifting problems. Car runs like it should.
  9. Opened my ecu and found very early stages of resistor leaking. one resistor and 2 caps leaking. Cleaned em up and so far so good. Sent the ecu to aaron at driftmotion in the u.s. I'll see if replacing the caps and resistors fixes the random shift dropouts. Update: Ecu arrived car won't even start lol.
  10. And i'm back. No problems with reverse, just shifting in forward gears now. Disconnected the solenoid wiring and the trans passes the diagnostic test. This must be the ecu like tuoppi experienced so i'm shopping for a replacement ecu. Anyone has a spare jdm 2jz-gte auto ecu obd1 lying around?
  11. Maybe my combination of new filter, solenoids and a lot of fresh type 4 atf helped as well. I bought 24 quarts of atf and i have 6 left
  12. Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. My problems are now fixed. How? I did the wire splice. Pink wire into blue/red wire and voila. Never gave me a problem in the 15 mile run i just did. Reverse picks up instantly, shifts 1-4 and downshifts are spot on and were never sloppy etc.
  13. It's GTE. I'll check the radiator and disconnect the solenoid wire and test. I'll also bypass the cooler, it's the beginning of the rainy season i can barely get 5 mins under the car without drowning. What's the price on that ecu you have David?
  14. Interesting point. How should i go about cleaning the cooler? Degreaser?
  15. Installed new filter and shift solenoids. Took about 6 quarts to fill because the pan had been off for 2 weeks. Went for a short cruise to warm the fluid so i could check the level correctly. Got home checked the fluid it was in the hot zone, so far so good. All smiles on my face, the trans never shifted this good through all the gears and i was loving it. Went for another drive to cover a bit of miles maybe 50 miles thereabout and i started noticing it won't downshift into 1st when i came to a stop. Then it stopped upshifting into 3rd and 4th, lost reverse as well. However when i let the trans/fluid cool down for a couple hours it drives like normal, soon as it starts getting up to temp i have upshift, downshift and reverse issues. Cold no problems whatsoever. I'll check to see if it threw codes 62 and 63 again in the morning. What's the issue with the trans? Should i just get a manual trans swapped?
  16. New filter and solenoids should be in my hands today . I"ll post an update in a day or two after some test driving.
  17. Any update on this? I developed the same problem. I dropped the pan and the filter is a bit dirty, a new one is on it's way tomorrow. Gonna check the solenoids but it's raining too much.
  18. I'll get her tore down and rebuilt asap. Thx for the laughs ellis haha.
  19. Can any mod move this to technical section?
  20. Noticed today once warmed up i was getting about 4 knocks if i blipped the throttle with my finger in the engine bay. No more than a 100 rpm rise from idle of 650-700. However if i move the shifter from park to R or anything else then back to park and check again, the slight 4 knocks does not happen. Any Ideas on this i'm hoping not rod knock? :(
  21. Thx alot guys i'm just waiting on the parts to arrive.
