The missus and I are here for a week on the west coast. Thought I'd post up some pics and a brief review
Firstly this place is big, it's like if we were in Manchester then Glasgow is the next town along - except the cities aren't that big there is nothing in between really .....at all! We are in Haugesund. I hear "why?" Which is a fair question but it's just a place we visited on this occasion.
Secondly - it's expensive - we are in all inclusive Radisson, good job too we checked out a local restaurant.. One main was £25 for the one dish - I expect a meal for two would be close to £100 with drinks added on. Food shopping - Cola £5 for the small bottle 330ml, a bag of crisps £4.50 for the walkers sensations size, chocolate about £2 for a small bar. Coffee and cake for 2 about £20. Though fuel is same as UK
We went for a drive around - amazing! we aren't best placed for the proper scenery but for point 1 it's just too far to get too. And it's true in that it takes a long time to get around, we did 350km trip and it took us 9hrs. Roads are basically north Scotland but very good Tarmac and well kept - not a single pot hole! The fjords are so big that it blocks weather systems, you can be clear roads and immediately be in snow drift!! 10mins later your out of it again, not necessarily just based on altitude

Lots of tunnels, huge long tunnels one of which had a junction and island in it!

Food is good, fish mostly, no chips, steamed potato dumplings seem odd.
Would be an awesome DB location but it's a heluva way to go to get to these roads (unless Newcastle ferry re-opens).
