  1. I switched out 19” 275/30 for 265/35 and the ride was much much better. Prefer chunkier tyre than thinner tyre look but comfort was improved no doubt
  2. There is a track car owners thread on here. Good way is to find a friend who does track days and go along to one of the days to see what’s what and ask questions. Do you need help with car choice and car prep or more how a track day works? TRACK DAY ORGANISERS Opentrack/Javelin/Bookatrack/Trackdays/MSV/Gold Track Days are cheaper in winter £99-275 in summer £150-500 Track name and area (ish) Donington (Derby) Oulton Park (Cheshire) Three Sisters (Wigan) Mallory Park (Rugby) Rockingham (Kettering) Bedford Autodrome Curborough (Lichfield) Anglesey (North Wales) Caldwell Park (Lincoln) Bruntingthorpe (M6/A14) Kendrew Barracks Brands Hatch (SE) Knockhill (Edinburgh ish) Silverstone Pembrey (South Wales) Castle Coombe (Wiltshire) Croft (NE) Thruxton (South) Cheap as chips? Clio, MX5 For car Ideas go like the Track Day Organisers Facebook pages and they will have photos of every car attending every event so scroll through RWD or FWD?/ Cost of parts/ availability of parts/ easy for you or cheap mechanic to work on/ Manual/ Engine size, power is of interest but handling more so Basic upgrades: brake fluid and pads maybe clutch fluid, service, check everything is good with suspension Next upgrades: seats, harnesses, cage, diet, coilovers, ARBs endless opportunities for throwing of money Trailer: each to there own yes people do trailer them or you can rent a trailer each time quite cheaply I have heard. Saves having a trailer in your drive unless you’ve a convenient barn to dump it in. I see it as slightly self preserving knowing I have to drive home in my track car afterwards. Insurance: personal preference, becomes an expensive day out to add on insurance every day but look at the cover some in unsure how reliable they would be. Breakdown cover: get lifted off track to a side rd and call your normal roadside provider cover to say you hit a rabbit and it’s damaged every panel on your car There are a few members here who have Supras on track and some members who have other cars - e46 330ci is on here. Pm or post up if you need more.
  3. PM’d for the Bush kit. Like a bit of topiary
  4. Taken my coilovers off and done this for provenance reasons - close to OEM but for bpu TT. New Blue badge German bilsteins New top mounts (cost a lot from japan and 8wks wait), new covers, new Eibachs.
  5. Mallory is one of those boxes ticked tracks but not massively interesting. Full of heroes today
  6. Doh! i got that back to front (literally) yeah I have a spare set stacked atm too
  7. Yeah the rears will become difficult to find but the fronts are easier as they are ginetta size. FB has traders on the trackstormers page
  8. Heading down to Mallory tomorrow. Not been before so just a bit of fun to learn the track
  9. 8.5 ET ~25 235/35/19 GY EF1 Ass2 XL (rolled) 9.5 ET ~30 265/35/19 GY EF1 Ass non XL (275/30s were too harsh)
  10. I’ve paid about that (350) for ones really needing a refurb and then sold refurbed later for £550 in close as possible stock colour (which I regret, needed the space at the time) and the good old search button has examples of clean “advertised” for 550 but that’s not necessarily the agreed sale price if they don’t need a refurb and it is just about a non OEM colour then I would plump just under £500.
  11. Colour not an issue if your taking £300 off the sale price. It is an issue if you want upwards of 600 plus paint. Are they “good condition” or “suggest fresh paint” ? What are the tyre brands and their age? Is there an ad coming soon with proper details and a price?
  12. C5 RS6 for £10k all day long then [emoji51]
  13. GT86 or What about a cheaper Jap fun car as a temporary fix whilst you work out moving costs and keep more of that money in the bank for later. A celica or 350z maybe I just found a great car on Auto Trader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201812123196134 By the way I have an ISF and at the moment I choosing to use my wife’s Legacy Spec B H6
  14. Completely agree, I’m not upset I can’t afford to buy an LCF and didn’t expect the Supra to be that, if it had been it wouldn’t have been average man money either. Least I can decide if I want one rather than it be out of reach happy with the way the MKV looks, they are striking and not diluted too much from the concept. It’s been said before, it’ll go straight to SRD and come out much better for it. The GT86 has got some great examples now compared against stock when that came out Still I’ll be keeping my 2002
  15. 1. Blythmrk 2. Ellis 3. Mike2JZ 4. Mattdavies - 1 5. Ian Ian x 2 6. samdale 7. griffsplace 8. Fitz x 2 9. Drift_bear 10. Spunkmeyer
  16. Awful for you. [emoji17]
  17. I have this, just stuff a cloth or a ball under the lever, then til go open the boot. Remember to remove the cloth/ball before closing the boot. it not the struts because they aren’t in operation until it’s open open (they are horizontal and neutral for the 2 degrees the lid opens from the lever) I think it’s the cableing that needs tightening from the lever to the catch release
  18. The yellow blue badged German billie dampeners I got new at £126 a corner from eurocarparts I think. There is a thread on here somewhere with the link. Did you specifically want the Toyota red badge billies?
  19. Yep this and also Vettel did this twice in fact
  20. I’m not usually one to side with Vettel, but he knew he had to get past him early and it was desperation but I kinda respect him for that. He’s just not the “racer” that Hamilton is in those situations.
  21. Bump away but your inbox is full. Any room on price? Maybe without tyres (collected)
