  1. haha so tempting... but i'll pass man, thanks for the info dude!
  2. hey guys, my car makes a horrible whirring noise when started from cold. its coming from the apexi air filter that my car has installed on it. i took a video which shows the noise a bit more clearer (the video is from a dead cold start) http://youtu.be/ofAV66RTf8E it dies down after the car heats up and practically disappears, but obviously it would be a good idea to sort it because it will most probably be affecting the intake of air to the engine right, im guessing the air filter obviously needs replaced, or can the filter be cleaned etc? or is it a definite replacement job. any help its appreciated, Ben
  3. ok i found the problem minutes after posting this thread lol the ballast has 2 little notches on the socket on it, one is a little wedge (triangle shape) and the other is a big bulky rectangle shape. the instructions told me to have the clip on the connector locking onto the triangle shaped notch, but infact mines worked on the rectangle shape side, obviously before i was mixing up the positive and negative sides hope this helps anyone else out there
  4. tried searching on the forum but it didn't bring any relevant threads up basically, my passenger side dipped beam headlight wouldn't turn on so i assumed the bulb was at fault (i have a hid kit so i ordered 2 new hid bulbs) i installed the new bulb (being careful not to touch or knock the bulb) wired everything up, and the light didn't turn on... :[ so i tested the same bulb in the drivers side (where the old hid bulb was still working) and the bulb didn't work in that side either... wtf :[ then i put the original working hid bulb back into its original working side and now that bulb isn't working... what the hellll i was careful not to touch any of the bulbs, so i haven't damaged the bulb, i checked the fuses and none of them look broken - but im not 100% sure which one im ment to be looking at to be honest, if its the ballasts then why did both of them break, surely they wouldnt break at the same time? someone want to enLIGHTen me? - im hilarious, i know ;p
  5. thanks for the feedback dude! that doesn't sound too bad at all
  6. true! but if I buy one and its terrible - Im going to be the tube... haha
  7. what's the deal with these systems, has anyone ever bought one? I suppose you always get what you pay for haha, but for a NA automatic - can it be that bad? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=200659752882 this is the one in question i am on a tight budget and I'm not looking for any power gains or any performance increases, it purely because one of my silencers has a small hole in it so I would like to get a cheap catback system just to fix it up and give it a nicer sound, should I avoid and save up a little extra for the blitz nur?
  8. i was planning on going NA-T and i thought that moving the air intake to the right side of the bay would make things easier clearance-wise and keep the temperature of the intake air down? it would also look much better when it comes time to do engine detailing (in the long run) - I DUNNOOOO :[ lolll im not the most mechanically experienced human being so go easy on me haha
  9. i was looking around on various website for something to spend money on for my sup, and i really like the godzilla air intake manifold on suprastore.com (http://www.suprastore.com/2jinmabywope.html). would this be easy to replace with the stock air intake, obviously the power steering would need to be re-located, and the trottle cable would oibvously need moved aswell, are these hard to do? costly? the unit itself is £600, sound like a pointless mod? lol
  10. update, still NO CONDENSATION, this seems to have done the trick thanks for all your help guys
  11. i have no idea pal, they were on the car when i got it, i put the lights on and this cleared up the remaining condensation... its been good for 4 hours+ - hopefully stays this way i'll keep yous updated
  12. i have no idea pal, they were on the car when i got them, i put the lights on and this cleared up the remaining condensation... its been good for 4 hours+ - hopefully stays this way i'll keep yous updated
  13. You couldn't of put it better my friend lol, just had a look at the lights and there's a small amount of condensation starting to come back haha, looks like I'm going to have to do it again and dry it even more. What about putting it in the oven? How long should I put it in for? What temperature? Do I take any parts off the headlight?
  14. Ok, Removed the headlight, turned it upside down, drained a lot of water out of it, then took a hairdryer and sat for about 15 minutes straight blasting hot air through the high beam bulb hole haha, that seems to have taken of care of it (for now) I will update if this problem re-emerges, On the bonus side - I fitted my LED sidelights that I bought ages ago but didn't want to fit because I though it would be too hard to reach the sidelight bulb holder, there's light at the end of the tunnel lol
  15. Done a little bit of searching and its the passenger side light that is the problem light - so I don't need to remove my airbox - yey, I will update my progress (if any lol) tomorrow
  16. I had my Dipped beam and fog light on for a good 4 hours today, and it started to clear the condensation near the lights, however, I had to turn them off before they killed my battery and after a couple of hours - the lights were back to misty city! Is it easy to remove headlights? Do I need to take my bumper off? And I have an aftermarket HID kit so this will further complicate things won't it?
  17. So I definitely shouldn't let the headlight breathe? I'll try what david said and tell yous how I get on, fingers crossed!
  18. How do I get the bag into there and back out? Lol
  19. Ok - I'm officially an idiot. I noticed my passenger side headlight misting up (which was wierd because the drivers side was clear as normal) so I had a look at the headlight - looked for any cracks etc and couldn't find anything. so I popped the hood and had a look around the rear of the light and hey presto - bens a tube and didn't put the back panel of one of the holes for the bulbs on properly, so now there is moisture all over the headlight. I got a hair dryer and sat and got rid of all the moisture on the glass but there is some on the bit where the high beam bulb reflects from (don't know what its called lol) and after I got rid of the moisture by using the hair dryer - it just steamed back up about 30 minutes later. I tried blasting the hair dryer through the hole for the bulbs but that didn't do anything What can I doooo, its making my sup look tacky :( Just to note - I have glass headlights, just incase you tell me I can't put plastic in the oven haha, is putting my headlight in the oven the only real easy way to fix this? Any advice is appreciated, Ben (silly Ben)
  20. Brakes are squeaking when applied, comes and goes from time to time - but there hasn't been a journey when they have been noise free My hubs are a little rustyyy "/ is this the guilty culprit? If so, are they a refurb job or replacement, is it easy to do, and how much am I looking at thanking yous in advance
