  5. hey guys, my car makes a horrible whirring noise when started from cold. its coming from the apexi air filter that my car has installed on it. i took a video which shows the noise a bit more clearer (the video is from a dead cold start) http://youtu.be/ofAV66RTf8E it dies down after the car heats up and practically disappears, but obviously it would be a good idea to sort it because it will most probably be affecting the intake of air to the engine right, im guessing the air filter obviously needs replaced, or can the filter be cleaned etc? or is it a definite replacement job. any help its appreciated, Ben
  6. ok i found the problem minutes after posting this thread lol the ballast has 2 little notches on the socket on it, one is a little wedge (triangle shape) and the other is a big bulky rectangle shape. the instructions told me to have the clip on the connector locking onto the triangle shaped notch, but infact mines worked on the rectangle shape side, obviously before i was mixing up the positive and negative sides hope this helps anyone else out there
  7. tried searching on the forum but it didn't bring any relevant threads up basically, my passenger side dipped beam headlight wouldn't turn on so i assumed the bulb was at fault (i have a hid kit so i ordered 2 new hid bulbs) i installed the new bulb (being careful not to touch or knock the bulb) wired everything up, and the light didn't turn on... :[ so i tested the same bulb in the drivers side (where the old hid bulb was still working) and the bulb didn't work in that side either... wtf :[ then i put the original working hid bulb back into its original working side and now that bulb isn't working... what the hellll i was careful not to touch any of the bulbs, so i haven't damaged the bulb, i checked the fuses and none of them look broken - but im not 100% sure which one im ment to be looking at to be honest, if its the ballasts then why did both of them break, surely they wouldnt break at the same time? someone want to enLIGHTen me? - im hilarious, i know ;p
  8. thanks for the feedback dude! that doesn't sound too bad at all
  9. true! but if I buy one and its terrible - Im going to be the tube... haha
  10. what's the deal with these systems, has anyone ever bought one? I suppose you always get what you pay for haha, but for a NA automatic - can it be that bad? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=200659752882 this is the one in question i am on a tight budget and I'm not looking for any power gains or any performance increases, it purely because one of my silencers has a small hole in it so I would like to get a cheap catback system just to fix it up and give it a nicer sound, should I avoid and save up a little extra for the blitz nur?
  11. i was planning on going NA-T and i thought that moving the air intake to the right side of the bay would make things easier clearance-wise and keep the temperature of the intake air down? it would also look much better when it comes time to do engine detailing (in the long run) - I DUNNOOOO :[ lolll im not the most mechanically experienced human being so go easy on me haha
  12. i was looking around on various website for something to spend money on for my sup, and i really like the godzilla air intake manifold on suprastore.com (http://www.suprastore.com/2jinmabywope.html). would this be easy to replace with the stock air intake, obviously the power steering would need to be re-located, and the trottle cable would oibvously need moved aswell, are these hard to do? costly? the unit itself is £600, sound like a pointless mod? lol
  13. update, still NO CONDENSATION, this seems to have done the trick thanks for all your help guys
