  1. I'm sure the driver is one of the biggest factors, I remember a few years ago I had a few plays with another BPU manual when I was still stock auto. I was ahead of him the whole time. In BPU I would have left him easily but it's debatable whether this was mostly down to driver gear changing being poor. Personally,9 times out of 10 I'd whip a manual supra in a straight line and as has been said, this has been proven many times on the drag strip. The only reason a manual feels quicker is down to the whip in between gear changes where as the auto is a continual drag through. Carl
  2. I have mine set between 55-58 and gain between 10-18. It's going to vary slightly on different cars depending on various factors but somewhere between these settings should result in 1.15-1.2 bar. If its cooler wether you may get occasional spikes to 1.3 bar in the higher gears. It's probably best to have at least two settings to compensate for the hot and cold ambient temps. Carl
  3. Summer Bump Any sensible offers considered... Carl
  4. I believe it's on the drivers side of the engine just under the exhaust manifold towards the front. It's almost bolted to the block. If its anything like the TT thens you have to move a few bits to gt t it as its tight. Carl
  5. I may have missed it but what time is it best to turn up t the track, e.g. What time do the gates open etc.? Cheers carl
  6. I have club stnd passes so most like.y will be parked there. I can pm my mobile just in case you want to pek and I'm not near car. Catl
  7. If anyone should be Interested in a closer look at my supra i will be attending japfest next week. Carl
  8. Ok, I have been thinking about this for some time running three cars is just no longer practical so the supra is going up for sale. I am looking for £6500 or nearest sensible offer. It is a twin turbo auto rz-s jspec. 91k on the clock. 17" original wheels, refurbished recently. UK BIG brakes front and rear. Black leather interior Black carpets Expensive component hi if system ,all infinity speakers and amplifiers plus pioneer head unit with cd multiplayer. Full BPU including double decat, blitz sbc-I'd boost controller and blitz boost gauge in vent. K & n air filter element in original air box. Recently had valve stem seals replaced and ferrea guides. All gaskets and belts replaced with oem Toyota parts. New radiator Had a second hand set of jspec turbos fitted, no fins missing. Good tyres all round. MOT until march 2013 Taxed until September The car has had regular oil changes etc. and has never missed a beat in the six years I have owned it. Starts first time every time and goes very well. Bodywork is almost perfect, no rust or dents. There is a Minot bit of lacquer peeling under the small quarter glass which you'd hardly notice. The car looks beautifully when clean, shows up a lot of three year old cars. This is a reluctant sale but none the less it,s time to go to a new home. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7038/6983057934_b9474f328b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7113/6983048372_98a5b79e0e.jpg http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6095/6869073718_3669d1e3c3.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7210/7015183459_1d97bbe20d.jpg
  9. I'd agree with the seven hours labour if you don't know what you are doing and your taking your time but stripping all the pipes above the turbos is bout an hour at worse and the rest is just a few bolts holding turbos on. I can't remember if you need to remove the manifold first to get to the turbo bolts? It's awkward that's all. You'll need to replace a few gaskets to.
  10. As above, canon 85mm prime lens for sale. Hardly had any use, in perfect condition and working order. Have box as I bought it new. SOLD
  11. I bought this last week, really not my thing so up for sale. £25 delivered. http://www.tesco.com/direct/kinect-star-wars-xbox-360/211-0480.prd?skuId=211-0480&pageLevel=&sc_cmp=pcp_GSF__211-0480 Carl
  12. Pm.d. I'll take this off you for £60. Carl
  13. I don't know about this company but usually a good wheel refurbish cost at least £80 a corner so it does sound cheap. If you need the alloys acid dipped if you have some rust then it's nearer £100 a corner. I used a company in Tewksbury ho were very good and my wheels looked like new when they were returned.
  14. I managed 29mpg last week with a combination of carefully driving and a few over takes which I thought was excellent.
  15. These are still available if somebody wants to come and collect. Carl
  16. I think it was just a uk spec with BPU if it's the guy I met once before.
  17. I fall out of love with the economy....
  18. Silver one was mine, only had it back on the road a few weeks as its been garaged for nearly two years. The red supra behind was a complete coincidence, not sure who it belongs to lthough it looks familiar from a few years back when I hung out around Cheltenham more often. Carl
  19. Nice car, I love the Lexus myself. My daily driver is a is220d although not fast, very comfortable.
  20. If you are removing the head then buy the head gasket set. You'll use them all. It would be worth replacing the cambelt and aux belt if they have not been done for a while. Water pump is often worth considering if not replaced recently although I inspected mine and it still looked like new with no play in it at all. Also replace head bolts as they are stretch bolts assuming you remove the head. You can check them and if in tolerance reuse them but for me the idea of torqueing up an old bolt and having it shear is not worth the risk. If the head is coming off, then the cams are coming out so they may need reshimming on putting them back in. As mentioned there are a few breather pipes that perish and go hard so will want replacing on them cam covers. Main thing to remember, LABEL EVERYTHING YOU REMOVE!, particularly if it's going to be done over a period of time. There's a lot of pipes and wires and it's surprising how you forget. To be honest it's a daunting task but as long as you take your time, double check everything you should be fine. Carl
  21. As above this jbl dock will take iPhone or iPods and has normal head phone input on rear for all other mp3 players. This sound from this unit is absolutely awesome. Incredible quality with very good bass. Sounds like a hi fi. I tested all the brands in the shops and this was by far the best. I don't use it my more so it's for sale. £65 pickup only as its heavy and delivery will be expensive. Carl
