  1. Cheers man, yes very important its a new stupid rule govt have requested when a car gets exported. By god its not an easy stat to find. Toyota them selves were stumped. 261kg is the figure i believe . It has to be added to our vehicle registration book.

  4. Cheers for the replies guys. Appreciate your valued input. Apologies battery went in my laptop yesterday eve. Will post sale details here when I get home form work before the car hits piston heads the weekend.
  5. Appreciate the input folks. My membership expired so could reply! just renewed to let you all know she is going to hopefully a good new home. Now officially for sale! going up on Piston heads over the weekend aswell.
  6. Thanks man. i will regret selling but we cant keep them all. I still cry over my GTR! I do like change been toying with the idea since xmas. But I am firmly selling now with my sights on cars mentioned above.
  7. Second Child is forcing me to consider sale! Thinking RS4 or lexus ISF, do not want to backwards on power with the new edition now 8 months two kids in a supra just gets annoying. Its 1999 83k miles, BPU, new tyres all round. interior immaculate. Timing belt/water pump done last service. Genuine 19' rotas. Cars like this since the recession have become rare in Ireland so I would like to think it should demand a decent price consider its condition. Appreciate any input
  8. Supra ufo, jus read ur restore thread nice work nice car. Maybe if you wer closer! Has anyone any input regards pitfalls tech difficulites etc as im unsure if i will ever get this out of my head. The aero locally is still for sale and taunting me!
  9. Thanks, i hardly guesed it was to dowith he lights as i traced one earth but there was a bunch of um. Strage how everthing worked fine.. all bolted up anyhow, i was jus interested to see wahtbit should have affected. appreciate your input
  10. Hi all, Was fitting A HID kit earlier to find a bolt missing and a a few earths not earthed as a result. They look like front light earths to me but all my lights work fine. Can someone tell me what circuits they are part of? The only thing Im aware of that doesnt work in the car is Traction control, but I dont think its these. Ive connected them up but didnt fancy heading out for a spin as it was late. Im unsure how long they were disconnected. Look forward to your thoughts
  11. I think I have gotten over the idea, having taking on points above and speaking to friends. Its the thought of ruining an good OEM car really, as I said I done it before and always regretted. I know il be pissed come summer though when I can put my roof in the boot! Thanks for the input
  12. interesting thoughts. I think the value in respecting genuine oem spec cars comes with age, I get that, hence my worry. But its just the attraction of the aero! Would anyone have an idea of ballpark of what this could cost with the likes of an SRD? There is a 93 black NA auto aero near me for sale for around £2700, which has got these devil thoughts moving. Another thing I didnt highlight is it would be a daily driver so reliability would be a huge factor, Id hate to think I would be potentially living with a car badly put back together due to the scale of the task being ridiculous.
  13. Hi All, very interested in your thoughts. Especially those who have gone through the process. Pics below are of my current car 99 facelift VVTI TT6 BPU, which I am happy enough with, but like most car fanatics your always thinking of the next car move or modification whichever depending on alot of variables! So like alot of Soop owners I believe the Aerotop TT6 is the ultimate. Obv it depends on you taste but ive come from the route of having a string of targas (Crx del sol, MR2 tbar turbo) and the supra has to be the king of them so il always have a want for one. Right now I am considering buying a cheap Aerotop convert all the good parts to the Aero and sell the now 99 as a NA auto. Im still reading up on this so I still have alot to learn. I imagine I will have to change alot of wirings looms aswell due to model differences and the entire dash/interior. My query is what would you guys see as the pitfalls if any? Is there an easier route to do this? ie buy tt auto and just change 6 sp box etc. The one thing that stands out is the gearbox tunnel having to be cut and welded. Are all the suspension components etc the same otherwise? Prop shaft etc, excuse my ignorance as im not a mechanic! Now I would not be carrying out the work myself as its a serious task in itself so im wondering besides it being a pain is a a pretty straight forward swap as both Chassis/Body as almost identical. The main reason im looking for opinions and advice besides it being a mammoth task is firstly the tech pov and secondly if anyone has done this had they any regrets? The reason I ask is when I was a younger man I had a Civic ls1.5 90 bhp. I bought a older model civic SIR the boxy shape one and done a engine swap to gain 50bhp, great fun at the time but I always regretted ruining two perfectly good cars, especially the SIR as they are now classic and still making good money. So id hope if I go down this route I wont regret spoiling a perfectly good genuine example of a VVTI Facelift TT6 for my benefit! Ive owned my car for over a year now and have just seen a aero come up for sale close to home a cheap too. I would also be interested in Valuations ie before the conversion and after. I'm asking alot I know! Look forward to your thoughts.
  14. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had experience with replacing HKS induction kit filter. I know the HKS originally god bad press for not filtering enough and the Apexi is the filter of choice. Basically I believe the issue was with the original filter and to combat the bad press HKS produced a 3 ply version as a replacement. My query is see pic below and can someone please confirm the little piece of the new 3 ply filter is the correct type. The small piece is a little piece thats comes out of the centre, in the background you can see the filter I took out which looks to me to be the offending bad filter type. My worry is I bought he new 3 ply off ebay (i know i dont need abuse for that!) but the packeting ets all looks genuine and the trader had good feedback. So my Q's can someone please confirm the 3 ply new filter looks to be the correct type? Is the old filter the bad filter that gave HKS the bad press? Ive fitted the new filter in the same direction as the pic is this correct? Appreciate any input.
  15. good man. jesus id have to do a double take if i saw another gunmetal pass me ha! The fog light is rotten, some day il get rid of it, when i prob get skirts.

  19. I have a HKS super Drager, came with the car if I had a choice id have a silent hi power. Ive had my fun with exhausts engine grunt is enogh for me as a daily driver. I will do anything to keep in quiet! I want to go full BPU but I know when i take out the 1st cat the car will sound like a group A rally car. My NCT is next month so will fir decat on trial then.
  20. Just received delivery of an exhaust bung from ebay (i know) but to me its strange to see the back end closed in! I know these are not ideal, but when I fit the first decat to Complete the BPU I want to keep the car as quiet as possible as its a daily driver. On the GTR Japseed do a nice silenced decat pity one of these cant be got for the supra. Any one fitted one like this? I wonder will it since the exhaust much if I drill out the closed back end? If fitted as is do you think it will cause to much back pressure? Look forward to views
  21. hi all, 99 Facelift TT6 based in cork. BPU at the mo prob wont go much further either as its a daily driver. Literally in the middle of fitting decat an RR this week. Pics here. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?295858-Finally-picked-up-new-supra!
