  4. Hi! It would be an important question. I have a orginal speedometer (180mph) in my supra and planing a long time to replace with a other speedometer. with this ==> http://kepfeltoltes.hu/thumb/120517/DSCF8282_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg The question is that: i can replace just simple the complete KMPH with the original MPH , or replace only the original dish(MPH) , or more complicated? Thanks for help!
  5. or use this idea with a wire behind of it, http://www.rallybeater.com/thewhitecar/images/gauges8_small.jpg This shouldn`t scratch the dish and apply equal force to the needle
  6. That's a good guide from here: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?319961-TRD-320-km-h In order to have the TRD 320KM/H Speedo working into the USDM/EURO/GENERAL WORLD LHD supra you will need to switch the gauge face only (AKA gauge dish, dish) 1)Take out your old Speedo out from the cluster. 1) Move the orange needle to the 120 km/h mark, (that’s 12 o’clock position) 3) Try Loosen the dish by taking up in both SIDES - and SIDES only (lifting up Gently left and right sides of Dish)- take extra care or u will break the needle. 4) When you got the dish loosened from the glue, TURN the dish AND needle TOGETHER 2 COMPLETE rounds ANTI clock wise ( I don`t understand why the dish need to be moved, is it because the rest needle is built into it???, if so I will get clarified) - to take the spring preload off the needle – then AGAIN keep the needle at "120KM/H (12 o-clock position)" holding IT (the needle) up from its "SIDES" (30 and 210 km/h) 5) Make sure the the dish is at the "correct" position BUT turned 2 rounds anticlock wise 6) Notice (make a mark) where the 120 and 300 km/h marks of your MPH speedo are positioned. 7) Hold the Speedo horizontal to see where the needle rest (this is the exact centre of the spring power)- needle wont turn either directions if its perfectly horizontal and without spring preload on it. 8) Notice and MARK THAT NEEDLE point onto the DISH (mine was at 270 km/h) set a reference in the white plastic surrounding area or take a digital pic of its position with good visual reference points. 9) Now take off the needle using the tool above or the shoes wires pulling equal from both sides, some others would use two spoons, works like a couple tiny pry bars from each side, use a paper bellow so you won’t scratch the surface with the forced applied by the forks or spoons on the dish. 10) Now you can take off the old dish - LEAVING the glue on the speedo - that is going to be the only thing holding the new TRD 320KM/H dish 11)Now - in the same way as described above (if you want to keep the trd mechanism/spring preload working and accurate) - take off the TRD dish from the TRD Speedo you just bought - that is the only thing you will use ..., but …if you don`t mind, and want to save some time, remove the needle carefully WITHOUT turning it first and then lift the disch carefully. 12)To have the TRD dish fit your cluster, you need to cut off all the fix points so it becomes completely circular - actually very close the black area of the dish , don`t worry, the glue will keep it in place. 13) Put the TRD 320KM/H speedo dish back in your mechanism - but DO NOT make it stick HARD to the glue - just slightly "resting" on the glue is OK by now... 14) Rest the TRD in the exact same place as the original dish - using the 120 and 300 km/h mark you made on step 6. 15) Now put back the needle at the same reading where it "rested" prior to taking it off (Remember that MY MARK WAS AT 270KM/H, remember yours). 16) Now turn the needle to the 120 km/h mark (you can only turn it anti clock wise up to 120) and lift the sides (30 and 210 km/h) turn the dish and the needle TOGETHER 2 rounds clockwise to preload the needle again). 17) CHECK TRD Dish positioning again dish using the 120km/h-300km/h marks. 18) NOW make it stick FIRM to the glue and make sure the glue is working good - holding the dish firm ! 19)Make sure the needle moves freely up and down from rest needle point. 20) Make sure the dish is centred. 21) Put the cluster back on to a final road test. Good luck
