  1. Enjoy the car and the forum
  2. Isn't the beauty of the supra that it can have a very individual look, depending on how each owner wants it. If someone looks after their car and is proud to own it then 'clean' or kitted up is fine by me, i can see and appreciate the effort put in. Good job we dont all like the same things.
  3. Throttle cable is all ok, not frayed. Throttle appears to return to closed position every time....
  4. Its as if I have foot hard down on throttle, trying to rev to limit. It just has to be turned off, a bit frightening really.
  5. Hi all, has anyone experienced high revs right from start up ?. I have a '99 tiptronic, mapped around the 600 mark. Ryan mapped the car so I am sure its nothing to do with the recent mapping. On starting, the engine will try to rev up quite high, I turn the engine off instantly, reset alarm on and off then try again. sometimes it will rev 3-4 times before starting normally, other times its fine first go. i thought it was the alarm, I had the old Clifford 300, so I had a new Clifford 650 concept fitted....still the same. If anyone can help I would be very gratefull....thanks.
  6. Thats ace with me, no problem. Is Nancy coming with us ??
  7. WHY..??? I really like your car, cant believe you are outing it now..
  8. They normally turn up about 8pm'ish, its very loose depends who happens to be around. I have let the skyline boys know that there will be a couple of us with supras turning up, couldnt say more than that because these east meet ups are a bit "iffy" sometimes. If Brad and Philly are meeting at Lakenheath I can meet there also, say 7pm, and we can toddle over to bury....If not much of a show we can drive into the town centre Square and find coffee, at least we can make an effort. regards ian.
  9. Yes a few skyline and scooby boys normally there on a saturday night plus one or two supras. Seem to be quite sensible and knowledgable, nice guys really. Also quite a few Chavvy hatchbacks but they dont talk to anyone else and stay in middle of park and keep themselves to themselves, but some of their cars do look nice if you can appreciate what they spend on them and how they keep them. They normally meet at the lorry park at Bury st eds which is signposted from the A14 ( Sudbury and Haverhill ) Its the A134 but the Lorry park sign is shown. No big deal, just a run over and say hello. If anyone decides to come and gets lost heres my number and I'll try and put you right...07759 490642. Brad and I will be going so it will be nice if anyone else shows. Be safe.....regards ian. Just a quick edit, A14 junction 44 follow lorry park sign.
  10. .....lol,well there is that, but it is a a very lovely car. As to being more specific, my mate says it sounds like its struggling to idle, as though it has one or maybe more cylinders down. He will have battery checked out and fit new alternator anyway.Check all air filters and take it from there I guess. Thanks.
  11. Hi, my friend has had some body mods done and the car has been in the coachbuilders since february. The car came back yesterday and will not run properly although the car was running perfectly when it went in. My friend thinks the battery went flat and the coachbuilder has been using a power pack to start the car to move it in and out of the workshop. He also feels the car needed a new alternator prior to going in. The work is all fine with the new nose cone, lift doors etc. Can anyone help with a couple of questions........................................1) If the alternator is useless (no light coming on though)and the battery is not 100% would this cause the car to run very badly...and 2) Can a power pack jump start cause damge to the ECU making the engine struggle to fire up and run smoothly.........Any help would be a great help. Thanks ian.
