Hi I'm in great need of help and or advise!!
I have a 2jzgte twin turbo (originally automatic, now R154 manual with standard ecu)
Three questions if you don't mind, the first one is the most important. The car has been flat as a fart for quite a long while. Just recently when warming up it started to rattle (panic on :-/ ) Fortunately I found it was the Actuator located on the top part of the exhaust, the end was tapping on the metal thread (which I've adjusted up) long story short to get to the thread I had to strip the turbo heat shield off and a bit more to then find the turbo ( j-spec) chipped broken, hence the performance, well I hope :-). The turbo's have now been stripped repaired with steel blades both on the inlet and outlet on both 1 and 2 turbo's. The turbo repair shop said I will have to remap before use but I have a standard ecu in the car and do not want to go to the expense of replacing the ecu, is this true or can I just set the boost to a certain pressure?
Secondly the turbos have cost a lot so I don't really want to be buying extra things for the engine, if it turns out that the vsv valves are also to blame can I do the true turbo conversion with both turbos running in parallel with no consequential damage to the turbos
And the last question, cause it used to be an auto, while stationary it will only rev to 4000 rpm (I'm assuming it still thinks its in park) Can the ecu be tricked? I thank you for your help in advance, thanks Dan.
