  1. This looks like a bargain. Facelift OEM bumper....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-JZ80A-MK4-front-bumper-geniue-panel-/250844281281?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a677bf9c1
  2. I have been fettling with the car over winter. Resprayed the dash in Ford Mercury grey. (the rubber coating was horrible to remove) Metal Monkey dials, MVP heater rings, Metal Monkey heater faces full LED conversion including heater controls (from bullet-uk-originally converted by Heckler) They were behaving rather intermittently so had them apart 3 times and resoldered everything until I tracked down the short circuit. Odo and clock fitted with blue gel film and tinted covers replaced with cut up CD clear plastic. alloy ignition key surround, stainless clock face, MVP footrest, from ebay. This is for a LHD and does not really fit, but works well upside down and is also more foot-shaped that way. New brushed alloy with blue LED, latching rear fog switch. DIY alcantara armrest covers. Real suede/leather DIY console and gear surround wrap. Alcantara pillar wrap. Leather seats treated with 3 applications of Grisons black cream Carpet dyed black, Celica gen7 steering wheel with airbag removed and cheap ebay TRD centre badge. Certainly not a professional job, but I am pleased with the results on my limited budget. Before and after pics..
  3. These were taken rather quickly on the Blackberry. I will get some better pics over the weekend
  4. I could not resist these. They do fit fine but the back tyres are just catching the inner arches on bumps. I may get the arches rolled or possibly drop down to 265 width. Tyres are 275/35/19. The car could do with lowering a little now. Also fitted budget facelift indicators from AutoArt and new number plates.

  6. I think I will just give up and go and listen to some Joy Division.....
  7. Doh, too slow again. Before someone else beats me, do you have the boot carpet?
  8. I will take these. please P.m. me your address.
  9. Body kitted, parked in Lutterworth town centre.
  10. With the exception of Ikea, Saab is possibly the most dissappointing thing to come out of Sweden
  11. Saab dashboards are also very similar in my opinion
  12. Whilst loving my new Supra, it was also disturbing my thoughts whenever the overdrive light and engine warning lights randomly c.ame on. Also, the speedo had a mind of its own jumping around as if possessed. having searched the forum, I found the speed sensor fix. Odo wires are now cut and spliced as per the gUide in the forum. Now I can sleep soundly. No jumping from speedo, no warning lights. My membership fee was worth every penny. Next job is checking solder on the upper right warning panel which also appears to be a common issue. Thank you to the forum for giving me the confidence to tackle these jobs.
  13. Does anyone have the lighter housing. I am tarting up my dash and the current housing has a chunk out of it.
  14. Just put LEDs in my interior. The size is BA9S bayonet.
  15. I had the same problem on mine this week. I unplugged the connector on the dimmer switch and shorted it with a 2 prong spade connector. the dash lights returned instantly. I quite like them bright, so will just leave the dimmer/rheostat disconnected.
  16. I like the flocking on the top section, but the entire dash looks somewhat over-flocked. I think the dial panels need something that contrasts. The Supra dash is a real headache. The wrap around cockpit is great, but it is such a big slab of black rubberiness.
  17. Thanks for the feedback The white stitching does really highlight my lack of sewing skills. I will probably blacken it but will see how it looks in the car first. The dash panels are all suffering from scratched rubber syndrome. I would love a pro job, but on my shoestring budget DIY is the only option. The remaining dash panels will require some work. Maybe a respray in matt charcoal, or possibly carbon fabric wrap?
  18. I dragged out the sewing machine today and had a go at covering the gear surround. Whover designed this complex array of curves obviously did not want it covering. I used 4 layers of masking tape to make a template. This was cut so that I could lay it out flat. I then stuck the cut pieces onto the suede and cut the pattern. Using a needle and thread to loosely tack the pieces together, it started to take shape. I stitched all the seams on the machine and trimmed the seams with shears to leave about 5mm. Scraping off and sanding the Toyota rubber coating was not enjoyable. Once clean, I used TrimFix high temp spray glue to apply 3mm scrim foam to the plastic. The next part was tricky, as I wanted white contrast stitching. Not perfect, but came ot okay. I glued it on in sections using Trimfix and checking alignment. I borrowed the wifes washing line pegs to keep it secure on the edges. Here is the results of my efforts. The last picture shows the armrest and console that I also covered. This is real suede, not Alcantara.

I thought i would update you on my fettling. ebay is my best friend at the moment. So far, my shopping list; Grisons black leather cream leather repair kit job lot of black leather hide 3mm scrim foam Gummi Phlege rubber conditioner Carbon fibre fabric High temp auto spray glue Heavy duty leather sewing machine needles Black and white leather sewing thread Midnight black carpet dye I had an enjoyable day yesterday wrapping the armrest and console section. The leather is back to front giving a suede effect. I have treated it with Barbour clothing wax to give it a deep, oiled leather effect. The seats are looking a little better after treatment with Grisons. I also lightly sanded the pitted steering wheel and gear shift before applying Grisons. I also knocked up a leather handbrake cover using a paper template. Before and after pics attached. Next job is carbon wrapping the gear surround.

Got the train from Leiceter to Rochester, did the deal and drove back. I was so pleased that the Dartford Tunnel was on the route, it was bloody cold but I still opened the windows. It was a bit of a gamble buying this from ebay. Mechanically it is amazing. The engine is super quiet and the gearbox is fine. No oil leaks, tight steering.A little smoke on starting, but given the time of year and cold, damp atmosphere, nothing to worry about. For 140k miles I am impressed. Interior is a little tatty and looks like it has not seen a Dyson since God was a boy. The Overdrive light is on and off like many others. Some of the dash lights are blown. The respray is pretty good, with a couple of rust blisters on the tailgate around the window. I have already scraped the paint off and given it a liberal dose of Kurust gel, which looks nasty but I prefer this to rust. The Aircon works fine, but there is a horrible labouring noise intermittently from the compressor. Overall, I still think for £1800 this was a great deal.

Thanks for the welcome . Yes, this was the ebay bargain. My heart sank when it was posted here, I thought one of you would gazump my offer. There were plenty of bargains out there though. Theres a red TT with bottom end issues on Gumtree for £600, but its in Ireland. A black NA on Autotrader for £1300, Loads of decent ones on Piston heads for less than £3k. It was a hard choice!

Greetings fellow Supra fans. I thought it was time to introduce myself. My first car was a TA22 Celica ST coupe, next came the amazing RA28 GT litback (Mustang shape) My biggest regret that I sold it to upgrade to a nasty 83 Celica with the pop out lights. Next came a MK1 Supra 2.8 with the narrow wheel arches, silky smooth and left my mates 3 litre Capri miles behind. Then came the Mk2 with the LED dash and flared arches and I still cannot remember why I sold it. After a succesion of boring family cars I returned to a Mk3, but rising running costs and a blown head gasket ended my Supra ownership. After many years of yearning for a MK4, I have just secured a nice NA Aerotop in black that has been on eBay for some time. I must confess to being rather excited.
