  1. It does go a little stiff but I just rubbed my hands over it (oo er, etc) to loosen it all up and then hoovered it. You get a fine dust off of it. If I was doing it again I would use a reasonably stiff brush (but not too stiff) and give it a good going over, then hoover it. Using my hands didn't really give it a good enough going over before putting it back in the car and had to hoover it again 'in situ' which produced a little more dust (easily hoovered up though). After that it's reasonably smooth. I wouldn't say it's quite as smooth as the original (it has got a coating of paint/dye on it afterall) but to be honest it's not like you're going to be rolling around on it or walking barefoot over it Certainly nothing to concern yourself about - underfoot (or undertrainer) it feels just fine, you don't think 'This feels a little odd' or anything. It probably only feels different because I'd rubbed my hands over it before and after - anyone getting into the car for the first time wouldn't notice anything untoward, and like I said I only noticed the difference when using my hands... and how often do you rub your hands over your car carpet?! You're doing the easiest colour swap though - grey to black. Going lighter (like I did) was a bit more of a gamble. Oh, and give the carpet a really good clean beforehand. Plan to leave it on the washing line for at least 24hrs, and more like 48. I got some Aerial clothes washing liquid on it with plenty of water and you would not believe how dirty it was (and it needs to be clean for the dying process).
  2. No, not chat, the other one. This IS chat. Off-topic.
  3. Oops, sorry, wrong forum. Meant to go in Chat.
  4. Wow! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/4702880.stm Anyone got any bigger/better/more pics?
  5. omg, why do people do this sort of thing? I believe you can get people to repair tears and rips in vinyl (aka 'leather'), but I only know that from reading about it on an Australian Supra forum, so I dunno if it can be done in Blighty. Suggest - yellow pages matey?
  6. No, I'm not sure I do either. Trying to resist some sort of smutty comment. A 'lady of the night' in the drivers footwell would probably make it more pleasureable, but I can't speak from personal experience.
  7. That was true though in my case!
  8. I didn't like the fact that if they had made the rear hatch just 1 inch wider the Aerotop roof would have slotted straight in without the jiggery pokery required. Other than that there were other things but I consider them compromises for the kind of car that it is (fuel consumption, boot space, etc). If I wanted an economical load carrier I'd drive a 1.6 estate. Oh, and about the big steering wheel - I only really noticed this while driving the RAV4 this week. The wheel in that feels tiny, but it's 'normal'. The Supra does seem to have a very big wheel for the car - definitely a 'GT' wheel and not a 'sports car' wheel.
  9. One doesn't like to jinx these things but I fear you may be too late
  10. You were filling up, had young lad (son?) with you. Around 5pm ish? Gave a wave, got a wave (actually I think it was a raise of a Coke bottle but the effect was there). I was silver pootling past (driving like grandad as usual)
  11. A colleague and myself are currently using it to quote Dr Who lines to each other. Pathetically anorak... but still amusing.
  12. Yeah, that's probably the most common one. Although personally I find Supra Targa quite irritating...
  13. omg, it's fallen off the front page - topski. I shall be expanding the advertising 'net' this weekend. I shall be putting 6 months tax on it too.
  14. 'The Only Club Without A Motto... oh, damn'

    help please

    Black is soooo yesterday.
  16. Get The Hell Out Now Before The Values Fall Off A Cliff or Why Didn't They Make The Heater Matrix Easier To Change or Yes That Rear Wing Really Is Standard Fit
  17. Absolutely! I always say I'm not going to watch it, then 3 or 4 days in I'm secretly an addict. Last night during the argument Pete always had a little smirk or smile on his face when the others were arguing - he thrives on confrontation, such as when he suddenly turned on Traci for no reason at all, then walked across into the kitchen afterwards and with a big smile beamed 'I just laid into Traci for the sheer fun of it'. Totally obnoxious.
  18. Gawd, it was uncomfortable viewing though, wasn't it? I could feel my heart beating a bit faster with annoyance. I just couldn't understand what was happening - George complaining that Preston had smoked a cigar and lounged on the comfy chair in the special room, and when Preston said 'Isn't that what you would have done then?' George said 'Oh no, I would have stood in the middle of the room not touching anything and would have protested to BB about being there under duress'. Like... did anyone on the planet actually believe him?! Gobsmacking stuff. Then Pete was complaining about them lying, when he had lied to them - it was all part of the task ffs, what was the problem? Maggot pointed that out, and so did Chantielle, but the Pete&George show didn't answer that one. Then Denis 'No one knows who I am' Rodman just blew up for no apparent reason. And then out of no where Micheal suddenly said the single most sensible speech I've seen on telly for a long time. Have to say though, the funniest thing was when during the heat of the argument Preston shouted to George 'What's Saddam Hussien's phone number?!'. Car crash television. Appalling and enthralling.
  19. I have to agree. I let the comment slide because... well, because I couldn't be arsed to type a reply to be honest, but since the subject has come up I have to say that putting a price I believe is always better. I never have, and never will, put an offer for a car that has 'offers' on it. Always better to put a price IMHO. We had this very discussion a while back on here though, so.... old ground

    oops help

Gawd yes, I remember that post! That was a bit of an eye opener. (I've told this (short) story on here before, but another mechanically-minded person on here was talking about this job and said 'I usually charge them £1000 in the hope it'll put them off. Horrible job'. Just about sums it up really. Not Toyota's finest hour, design-wise).
  21. She's quite nice. And I don't usually like blonds.
