  1. I fancy some Blue Locking nuts...these Rays ones look pretty good and not a bad price. Anyone know of similar quality nuts at a better price? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RAYS-LOCK-WHEEL-NUTS-1-5-TOYOTA-STARLET-SUPRA-BB-CELICA-/250686805256?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item3a5e191508
  2. Thanks guys. Blue steel sounds good...definately a contender. I fancy a bit of a Japanese feel also to relfect the cars heiritage so going to look at some Japanese mythology for some ideas around this theme.
  3. I used to Play EvE with someone who loves Supra's? Forget the guys name...was in the Fusion Corporation if that person is a member on here. I've played WoW in the past, am a casual mmo gamer at the moment, part of the Ginnunga gaming community (http://www.ginnunga.org) and currently playing RIFT with them.
  4. PM'd Lee already will follow up tomorrow. Will check AFR out also, thanks. Cheers Hamish. Will check this out.
  5. Tein Superstreet I believe. It was low enough for the bumber to scrap the floor in a multi story and indeed just pulling out of the residential car park where I live I need to hit the road and an angle do that it doesn't scrape too much. Hopefully its just a case of raising it a little. Not done the maths yet.
  6. Puppa Smurf or Smurfette? I like the idea! But maybe not... Gargamel? Keep em coming.
  7. Hamish, I couldn't post in your classified ad, probably as I don't have full membership yet but just wanted to say thanks for a smooth sale and a great car. I would certainly recommend to anyone doing business with you and hope you get back into the supra saddle in the future. I certainly will keep up to date on these forums with any developments on the car although I have no plans to make any changes at the moment other than maintaining and enjoying her as she is, but may do in the future. Cheers, Vincenzo Cristiano
  8. Yeah got back ok thanks Hamish. Had a couple more pitstops and a power nap near Oxford and got home about 2am. Pretty clear most of the way down, and managed the 490miles in the end with about 90 litres of fuel which works out to about 24mpg for mostly motorway driving I'm going to use my 5p off a litre coupons to fill up with Tesco fuel now! My phone ran out of charge so I only managed to take one picture, attached, taken at services just outside of Glasgow. One thing I did learn on the way down, that I didn't think about before (Hamish you mentioned this to me but I didn't twig) is that the car is very low and doesn't like ramps! As the car is to be kept in an underground carpark which has a ramp to get in and out, or on my parents drive which is also quite steep, I'm going to need to raise the suspension or something else. So now I'm on the look out for an experianced Supra Engineer/mechanic near south London who can support my Supra needs. I will be making a few calls soon, if anyone knows someone nearby feel free to drop me a pm with their contact details. Then all it needs is a name!...any ideas? Working title is "Blue Thunder" unless something better comes along. And I need to sort full membership out of course!
  9. It's a great ride. Made it to Liverpool for a pitstop, pants slightly soiled. Half a tank and a bit to do 200miles. I'm trying to take it easy. £85 for 60 litres hehe my other car is an a3 Tdi!
  10. Shame I can't post pictures from my phone but just bought Getrags's Supra and am on my way from Glasgow to south London. If you see me, honk!
  11. Like this one? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?231452-94-MkIV-Supra-TT-6spd-BPU-with-pics-and-vids
  12. Well this car is back on the market if of interest to anyone. I didn't get answers to my questions but the trader had no problem refunding my deposit, and has always been helpful. He also checks in on this forum but not sure what his account name is.
  13. I have been in touch with Jurgen a few weeks ago, but with nothing currently in stock that suits me, I thought I'd try and see if there was anything suitable available immediately, otherwise it could be a long wait, that will be my back up plan though.
  14. I was also in touch with Getrag about his car in the classifieds, which I think is better looking and by the sounds of it, better looked after. Not sure if that is still for sale but am checking. I'm going to make some enquiries with the dealer based on this points. I'll certainly be joining the club as I'm hoping I'll be able to own one of these cars for life, just trying to work out how to do it. I'll read the membership post in more detail in due course. Thanks for the feedback.
  15. Thanks for the feedback guys, I shall raise these items with the seller. Glad I made a post. I understand this to have been imported in 2007, however has had 3 owners since, which I thought was a lot. The seller doesn't have back up of the import mileage, so I asked about getting a BIMTA done, which he didn't think was a good idea stating that this only has the last auction reading, therefore if it had been clocked you might not know. I don't know whether this is true or not be its easy to get the last auction value certified. Based on comments aboved I'd assume the car has been clocked in Japan before being imported. Do they clock at 100k or 200k km's? If anyone has any other points please shout, as they are very helpful for me! I will discuss them with the seller. Price wise, included in the stated price is a 12m warranty, so can cut £300-400 off the price without this, however I thought it might be a good idea to have in case there were problems. I can look to discuss other items too. There is at least one other car that I'm interested in (if its still for sale!) that I could go for if I'm not satified with with this one.
  16. Yeah I've put a deposit down on it.
  17. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase my first Supra next week and thought I'd post to see if anyone had any experiance dealing with the trader, Extreme Sports and Performance Ltd based north of Cardiff, or indeed whether anyone recognised the car! From what I've seen on the market at the moment it looks to be very good value and the guy I've spoken to seems very helpful. http://www.esperformance.co.uk/car_Supra-Twin-Turbo-Manual-Gearbox-Toyota_143_0_index.php
  18. The Ab Flug S900 is the style I've always wanted, although looking at the above pics the Zefi:r looks pretty good too.
  19. Thanks for all the good feedback guys, some very interesting points, and very helpful. So there are a few things I can check: Meter is running up in Miles now rather than KM - Should be known by the current owner! Background check on the car to confirm mileage when it was exported from Japan. (Thanks for the link, looks like £26 for a check) Without confirmation of the import mileage the car could have either 100k, 127k or if it was clocked in Japan 162k miles. Surely this would effect the value of the car, and without this info could I have a problem reselling if I upgrade in a few years time? I don't want to get into that position, but sounds like it might not be too unusual not to have this info. I also need to pay the right prices now so I don't lose money if I resell. Point taken about maintanance being more important than mileage. I'm no mechanical expert, I just like driving. So to cover this I will confirm the full service history he has on the car (seems like its been well looked after in his ownership, however I'll ask about the 10 years prior to that) I'm also looking into getting an RAC inspection done, although at £305 I need to determine its going to tell me the important stuff. If anyone knows better people to use that the RAC, and active in the Glasgow area, please should. I'm going to look through the traders section to see if anyone does something like this.
  20. Hi all, I'm new to the forums and looking to make my first Supra Purchase. However I'm in need of a little advice. I'm looking at a specific car however the private owner doesn't have any documentation to prove the KM on the clock when the car was imported from Japan, nor was it available when he purchased it from someone else, only the no. in the box on the first UK MOT which state mileage. Is it standard procedure when converting a Jap model from KM to miles to leave the original no. of KM on the clock once its been converted to miles, or can the process vary depending on who's doing the job? Personally I'd like to see real miles on the clock post conversion with the appropriate back up documentation, however I don't know if this is something that is normally done. Is there any risk here that the no. on the clock is real miles and not a mix of KM and miles? It makes a 27% increase to the advertised mileage if this is the reality. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
