  1. Hi all Developed a problem today with the clutch peddle staying planted to the floor when engaging first and having to pull it back up with my toes... The car then will engage 2nd, 3rd etc but once you come to a stop and engage first slowly it goes to the floor again... Just out of interest if you do a very fast engage of 1st it will spring back up.... Clutch fluid was on min level... I`ve spoken to a few garages and looked on here and it sounds like the master clutch cylinder or the slave have gone... The questions i have are as follows: 1) Are the master and slave clutch cylinders the same on imports and uk spec cars, i have a part number of 31410-24050 for the master cylinder? 2) How much should these be and how long to replace? Many thanks, Chris
  2. Ive done mine today, im not really great at spraying but its turned out fine - very forgiving product. After a few layers it does cover scratches up, obviously deep scratches need more layers. I think we will all find the product isnt hugely scratch resistant but time will tell. The look is great and for £10 you can do 3-4 layers for all the dash panels - and if you go wrong or it goes wrong in time you just peel it off and start again. I have to say for the price this is a brilliant product.
  3. How many 400ml cans you reckon you would need to do the main dash panels/gear level panel?
  4. Can someone post a pic of a dash done with this product? Whats the process simply spray it on? Thanks - - - Updated - - - Also - wheres the best play to buy? Seen a few sites and its out of stock?

    XTD clutches

Read my latest thread on Ebay Clutches.... From a quick google of my F1 Clutch i also discovered that these XTD clutches arent great either. I`m lucky as i got my money back for the clutch and also a proportion of my labour costs without any real arguments or hassle but i guess with other companies you wouldnt be so lucky. Ive learned for a clutch or integral part then go to a tuner, get the parts from them too.
  6. 420bhp at the flywheel and a similar torque figure - will the CW clutch be ok?
  7. Yes Ian it is - bad advice from the company who supplied the clutch im afraid, i called them to check that prior to fitment that their clutch was ok with a dual mass flywheel which mine has and they said yes...... Today its come to light that they admitted they were wrong and they shouldnt have told me to fit the clutch.... they have refunded the clutch amount and also after speaking to the directors of the company agreed to pay half the labour, i pushed for it all but tbh after the hassle i had to get to the bottom of it and get the initial refund etc i just left it at that. Now no more scrimping etc as ill be getting this sorted and replacing the flywheel. Im pretty annoyed on a few fronts - 1) My initial clutch was only just starting to slip and i was being prudent as ive been doing the car up 2) I usually research purchases on the net a quick search today for this brand of clutches reveals a string of bad reviews 3) I havent been scrimping on other things but just saw this clutch and kinda didnt do my homework Ah well - live and learn!
  8. So sorry to hear that news Chris - I will try and call you tomorrow but if you can't speak etc no worries a clutch can wait.
  9. Chris - thanks for the reply - I've just messaged you asking for your contact details - please could you take a look as I don't know if you want to publically put your phone number on my thread? When's best to call you tomorrow?
  10. Just PMd Mr Wilson for his advice A few quick points 1) massive clutch slip experienced today when changed from 3rd-4th at about 70mph - like slipped to 7k rpm 2) smell when accelerating mildly 3) small slip experienced tonight when mildly accelerating on 1st turbo at low speed Worried as hell as I want this sorting - Is it the clutch? Could it possible be a mistake from the fitters? Is it in anyway possibly the flywheel? There's a small oil leek under the car, unknown location possible rocker cover gasket Etc could oil have got into clutch? The clutch had since installation juddered slightly on change and the peddle has not been low down to bite it's always been up at the top similar to where it was before under the old clutch. Thanks guys
  11. Ok guys thanks- how many miles to wear in?
  12. All Need some advice from experts! Had new clutch fitted last week by my local garage http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200899316077?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Dual Mass Flywheel i have was showing small signs of wear but decided to keep that for now. Covered around 150miles since then and when under heavy load the clutch will slip and then the usual clutch burning smell is evident. Just at THOR having some gauges and boost controller installed and Pete has just spoken to me about the clutch saying it doesnt seem right. Now, ive just contacted the guys who sold me the clutch (who seem to be pretty decent) and asked their opinions as to why this may be happening, and i want as much info as possible before i call the garage tomorrow - the garage who fitted the clutch are known to me, have done plenty of work on my cars before, they arent tuners as such but it was the owner who fitted my clutch.... Also the clutch does seem to bite very high up still. Any info would be appreciated guys. Chris
