  1. Then go bigger,it will imporve high speed conering(i think),also anything to help imporve traction.I find the 275's great and they don't spin as much as the 265's,also make it a little less tail happy.("LITTLE") Cheers!
  2. wesmi01 I don't see any harm in going bigger, what spec are you mate?
  3. I am running 245/40's up front and 275/35,this is optimum for a 400hp car. Also bigger isn't always better, increace in width will also up rolling resistance, which will affect your MPG and high speed cruiseabilty. And more road and wind noise! Cheers!
  4. Yeah Matt it was probably the engine light mate....
  5. I'm not sure whether it has a peak hold feautre,it's aGreddy one though, does peak hold just hold the needleat the higest level of boost reached,so that so that you can see what max boost you got. If this is the case then it most probably dosen't have this feature, but also I didn't watch the boost gauge once as was alarmed as to what was happneing with the car. I was thinking that mabe the freezing cold whether could have caused an up in boost, but does anyone know what boost has to be reached in oreder for the fuel to be cut? Cheers Steve! Heard that fitting fcd is mad as they just make the turbos go..and on leading to a higher chance of failure. But seeing as most people putting them on are using hybrids/hks/trust tubbies is ok,but with normal j-spec's and uk ones, I was advised not to fit the FCD. Hope I don't hit this fuel cut all the time as I couldn't be able to stand it! Any help?
  6. Guys was out last about 11ish,and as I was flooring the car at about 5.5-6.5K it would jerk and the hazard ligh came on with an orange oil light as well. I totally forgot to look at the boost gauge,is this fuel cut? Also, also what boost is fuel cut activated at? As if this was fuel cut, like to get a rough idea of what amount of boost I was getting last night,I must add it was freezing, and the car was at its quickest since purchase! Any help appreciated!
  7. Yes I understand that 245/40 meaning the length of sidewall is 40% of 245.(at least I think) So I think the pirellis sound good...245/40 and 275/35,having different sidewall lengths dosen't affect anything does it? Nice one!
  8. SO..Alex you think I should keep the sidewall profile the same yeah? 245/40's and 275/40's!? I've already got Bridgestone S0-3's,my brother has got Toyo T1-S on his 300zx,he says they are real good? Any feedback on these tyres?,also Alex Pirelli's good wet weather grip? There's a mission for you lot! Greatly appreciated!
  9. Cheers guys...I think I'll go for 275/35 on the back and 245/35 on the front. But what are the best tyres?
  10. I've ordered some new alloys "work"from the states and should get them in about a week. The rears are 10s,so which tyres should I put on,(outright grip),also what size would be the best fit...not worried about hard ride. Cheers! Any advice appreciated!
  11. Great info Alex! So this should no way affect my ecu and should make 1.2bar boost,it's a bit high isn't it(although high boost is good),but that won't blow the turbo's will it? I've already taken the CAT from the front pipe off..so its the one from the turbo downpipe next. how much does the 1cat replacement pipe cost roughly?(and which brand is recomended) Many Thanks!
  12. Guys, I've read that a few of you lot have had a "full decat",removing the 1st CAT.Mine is a J-spec,I thought that the removal of the 1st CAT can affect fueling values and cause fault at the ecu. Plus...are changing front pipe's good?and are they worth doing..will they eliminate the 1stCAT???or is there another de-cat pipe which does this? Any help appreciated!
  13. Sorry for not displaying the wit,but it;s getting a bit late for me:D (can barely keep y eyes open)got to be up early for work! Many thanks for your consideration! going to bed:zzz:
