  1. I don't seem to get what people see in veilside, maybey i'm missing the point but I really dont like almost anything they do, including that thing
  2. when I introduced myself last week it was mentiond about going to the miller and carter pub on parbold hill where a few of you meet on wednesday nights, Is anyone going to be their tonight as I can make it and so would like to come down and meet a few faces, oh and if so what time is anyone their?
  3. I had some tourists taking photo's of my standard supra the first time i properly took it out. It made my day as being my new toy and the first time I had driven it I was feeling especially proud of it. No one ever took photo's of my old nova's they just showed their appreciaton of it by showing me hand gestures haha
  4. yeah older sprinters do have a good reputation, would love the space to get 4m carpet rolls in the back as well, When its raining and i have a carpet job on i miss my big van
  5. lol the drive throughs, I got my lwb movano stuck at a kfc once cos it was too big and the dangling chains at the drive through entrance told me so. I had to abandon the drive through run half way round and go up the grass banking to get out. the bloody thing was leaning over at what felt like 45 degrees, i was terrified. I suppose the lesson is - if a sign says your a moron if you try and force your van where it's not suppose to go, then don't force your van were it's not supposed to go!
  6. vw would be good but are quite pricey, ivecos could be good a lwb daily would be a good size im not sure if it might be a bit heavy on fuel though. I also thought about a vivaro type van but my movano was excellent and tough in everyway apart from the renault engine and gearbox, i replaced the engine when that went but when the gearbox failed i gave up with it, it turns out the renault engines and box's in those vans are known for being weak so thats why im terrified of the smaller renault based vans. Everyone knows toyota's are made chuck norris style tough so the hiace is the favorite at the moment. As is probberly clear though vito's are just awful, I just don't understand how people look at the merc badge on my van and think that that awful thing is somehow better made than my toyota
  7. thats why i like the transits, my dad and brothers had a few and i know they are very little hassle and the 8 x 4 thing, I use a lot of ply and the vito is just short of 8' and between the wheel arches is 4' but the doors curve in so you cant slide the 4' in anyway. It aint a massive problem as the ply just goes on the roof it's just that your left thinking wat a stupid pointless design? Whats the hiace like on fuel?
  8. oh and it would help if it could be stopped from constantly rotting, unlike the vito!
  9. has anyone any experiance with hiace's? i'm a floorlayer with a vito and to be honest it's a disgrace mercedes should be ashamed! so what van would you recomend if i sell my v reg vito. I dont really want it to be any smaller than the vito (last van was a LWB movano and most of the time the size was good! ). Most of important of all though it has to be far better on fuel than the vito and far, far more reliable than the vito. Hiace maybey or just a good old transit?
  10. If your worried about the false claiming, the customer I was saying about also sells survalence equipment for lorries to catch out people causing crashes on purpose. Apparantly their is a huge demand for it so the business has really took off. I personally don't like the idea of having cameras on my car watching me all the time but if you don't mind that you could get the same system set up
  11. fake claimss in Blackburn is driving me nuts, it isn’t just the whiplash claims from accidents, their is a huge problem with set up crash for cash schemes. My van renewal has just come through from the brokers and it's up from £450 to £895 because the company I am with are refusing to take on any more custom from my post code. When I bought my supra I couldn't get one day cover for my wife to drive it home because of my post code and a good customer has a fraud investigation company that mainly deals with fraudulent insurance claims. I've talked to her about it and apparently in my area it's out of control and the insurance company’s know it. Thing is the wont prosecute incase they loose, I hate the way it's seen as a victimless crime when we are the one's that are paying for it.
  12. Thanks everyone, as for the wheels I kind of always intended on getting some TTE's with wide rears on almost as soon as I got a supra, but now I have bought one I now know how hard they are to find, so that plan is abandoned unless some come along before I find something else
  13. yeah no problem, as long as my little boy dosn't have an ice hockey game that day I'll be their. It will be good to see another supra on the road! Whats the details?
  14. I'm after some 18's with a concave centre, volks te37's & rota drift torque's are both stuff that I'm liking, any other suggestions? oh and quite important is that I have just bought the car so their is not much money avalible, because of that high end wheels such as volks and advans are unaffordable
  15. I know what you meen tomgeer i'm already fighting my conscience, thing is i liked the car because it was nearly standard and i did originally intend to keep it like that but I cant help thinking that from some angles the wheels look lost in the arches
  16. Where in the forum would a what wheel question go? I want some concaved 18"s but after buing the car can't afford a set of proper jap wheels such as TE37's even the rotas would be a stretch, i'm liking the torque drifts though becouse of the concave centre look
  17. I'm actually in blackburn, preston is my surname/nickname, are you from the preston area then neil? the car is the one for sale from ooholyoak http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?238114-Manual-N-A-Supra I'm not sore which direction to go in now though, part of me wants to keep it fairly standard but I think it will be getting at least a set of 18"s, brembo 4pots (I have had a pair for a while) and at some point a tt conversion.
  18. Hi, I've just bought my first supra from a member of this site. It's a near standard na manual and is already looking like it's going to the only decent car I have ever bought. I have a bad habbit of getting carried away when I see a car I love so have been ripped off a few times but thanks to your buyers guide, the warnings about keighley preformance centre and the care of the previouse owner I have finally bought a decent car, so thanks already!
