This is why http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-3-0-AUTO-RARE-ONE-OFF-R-REG-FACE-LIFT-MODEL-MUST-SEEN-/230682751165?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35b5c370bd I meen their are loads of tasteless supras and I thought no matter how many times I saw one I couldn't be put off but I think this has just pushed me over the edge
-
As above really. My window has packed up so is stuck open. The local scrayard has both in and i wouldn't imagen toyota would develop a unit just for one model
-
agreed with the spray it shiney black comment, I don't get the obsession with matt black, god knows why anyone would want their car to look like a plastic toy from taiwan. Anyway aside from my dislike af matt paint on cars I love the rest of it. Great buy mate, have fun.

I have bought a decat (1st cat) for a NA. On the bottom of my first cat their is a sensor but the decat dosn't have a fitting for this. Whats the sensor for and do I need it?
-
What are the black wheels on this one? (in the pic on the drive with a bike in front of it) http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicga...do=view&g=2283

oh and on my NA, on my speedo I have been just past 145 before backing off, I havent however driven with a sat nav in yet so havn't had any way of checking how accurate my speedo is
-
If you drive at 1/2 revs in top gear then double it that will give your theoretical top speed, assuming that you can reach full revs in top gear and that the speedo is accurate.

for sale Any interest in a n/a first decat ?? before i remove or leave it on

I could do with it as my exhaust is blowing above the 1st cat, and I am near you so if your selling, i'm buying -
yeah true, thats one of the many reasons I love my car, I almost had to sell mine. That was untill someone ran in the back of it then my wife left the handbrake off it so it smashed through a wall. Quite lucky really as those things happening prosponed any sale and in those few weeks work finally picked up after over 3 months of utter despair meaning I don't have to sell it to pay the bills! Looking at your car pics what turbo is that and that manifold is stunning who made it?
-
That was me mate, thanks I wish I slowed down and got a proper look at your car it looked nice, also that was the first time I had seen another supra on the road since I bought mine!

everyone was ok, the bumper just needed a respray, needed because my wife left the handbrake off and now here is the car http://s1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/ChrisPreston7/?action=view¤t=110_1027.jpg#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs1198.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa457%2FChrisPreston7%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3D110_1027.jpg

Sale is on hold as the car has been hit from behind, the damage isn't too bad, I'm expecting the rear bumper to need a respray but I need to sort out with the other driver first. I will update as soon as I can. Sorry for any hassle

oh and one of my old vans for sale it's a lwb movano, knackard gearbox, good 2.2 engine, The engine is the reason for buying it tbh. My fiesta zetec s (2001 reg) will be for sale soon maybey instead of the supra and possibly a 1.6 16v nova with twin webbers, nos, carbon bonnet, GRP tailgate. I'll put it all up on the non supra for sale section

the tax is the end of this month, the reading is just over 105 000, this may be miles but their is no evidence of it being converted from km so may be kilometers, i'll check the MOT and get back to you. I'm a floorlayer, well was a flooring contractor supplying and fitting mainly for housing assosiations ect through building contractors. When connaught went bust I lost nearly all my regular work as my main customer was heavely involved with them. I had a few other contracts for one off jobs that finished in December, a shop fitting, a factory, finishing work at 3 care homes but havent managed to get another contract since i finished on the 20th dec. Being owed ££ £££ from when connaught went down ment things have been tight. I'm now working as a carpet fitter for my familys shop again but it may be too little to late. Thing is i cant bring my self to sell the car but I can't think of another way to get the cash I need to stay afloat. If i get offerd the cash I will have to take it but the car dosn't have a sale sign on nor is it on ebay as i'm kind of hoping I will be able to save my self before someone buys my supra

ok photo's havent worked, i'll try and fix that

http://s1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/ChrisPreston7/ Sale on hold, car has been hit from behind very reluctant sale, I have always wanted a supra and after buying a clean one I intended on keeping indefinitely I have basically run out of money due to hardly working in nearly 4 months, I’m self employed and expected things to pick up after February as usual but it never did. I am gutted and as you can see the car is an excellent near standard example. spec is as follows: Full service including all belts by Ash at Garage 786. New standard Supra alloys with lots of tread left on each tyre. New drilled and grooved discs all round with new pads all round. Cat back full stainless custom exhaust from HIB Exhausts in Anglesey who designed the silencer to be unobtrusive, but just enough to know it's not standard, just right. New headlights with all new bulbs (the old ones had started to yellow) New wing mirrors (the old ones had faded) New El-Glo Dials Momo steering wheel Alpine motorised, touchscreen pulse feedback DVD / CD / MP3 player / Radio Upgraded speakers all round to 6.5" Alpine type G coaxials. New windscreen wiper arms all round. It came with the personal plate of J2O SJ0 which was valued at plates4less for £350 I would want £3000+ I have bills to pay so I would have took £3000 but the electric window cable has now frayed so it only seems fair to knock another £100 off (a new unit is £79.50 inc VAT from Toyota) I think it's fair to say that this car has been loved by everyone who has owned it I'm in the north west but may travel Any questions please call me on 07900006179

my drivers side window has stopped working. I think its because the cable has freyed and jammed. could I just change the cable or will i need a new kit with motors ect? if i do need to change the lot what other toyotas can i get the electric window kit off?
-
haha, I bought my supra drove it away, then the first time I had to get petrol I needed to call the old owner and ask him how to open the fuel flap
-
hmm £3500 is more than the car is worth, when I used to chav up my novas the 4 things that used to dictate how hard an engine swap was were, space, engine mounts, gearbox and electrics. I think space should be ok but what about the mounts, fitting it to the hilux's manual gearbox and the electric's. if i remember rightly when i did a 2.0 16 conversion on the nova i think i just kept the entire loom as it was and just connected up a live then earthed it, and with the 1.616v swap (i still have that car) the key with the immobiliser chip had been lost so i did the same but fitted twin carbs. But that was nearly 10 years ago so I might have forgot a few steps. I'm new to toyotas so dont know if they are as simple

'TOYOTA CAMRY 1998-2001 3.0 V6 ENGINE' is this the same as a petrol hilux?
-
Can a 3.0v6 sohc in a 94 hilux 4 runner be replaced with a 2jz ge without too much hassle? the problem is that the hilux needs a new engine but its a lot easyer (and its looking a lot cheeper!) to find a 2jz ge engine at a decent price. It's just that from my nova days I rememberd that changing one gm engine for a differant gm lump was no harder than swapping the origanal for an identical engine, well almost. is the same true for toyota?
-
I never realised it was so simple
