  1. I may have a spare engine cover, I'll check when I get home tomorrow
  2. I've edited your post as per rules mate. You need to pay your membership fee of £10 per year to be able to advertise for parts/post in the classifieds section. Sounds like an interesting project, I do love a Z car!
  3. Cheers mate! I've been contemplating it for a long time to be fair, each time I talk myself out of it, but, I'm not sure I can justify spending £4.5k on a V16* that this car needs to unleash it's full potential, when I could put the money toward something like an E92 M3 or an IS-F. No doubt I'll change my mind another few times between now and then, but that's my current feeling.
  4. It's a atmospheric screamer mate
  5. Just thought I'd post a quick update as to where I am with the car. I've been using it day to day since July now and It's been flawless. The power delivery still puts a smile on my face each time I open it up, it's such a smooth curve and it just seems to run out of revs before it runs out of puff. Even the W58 Is holding up - shock! I'm looking to change the manifold for a quality tubular item to change the exhaust note on boost as I want to achieve a more typical "2J scream". I'll be taking the car on a Eurotrip this July which will see it visit the Nurburgring, The St Gotthards Pass, Susten Pass among other destinations. This may well be the final hurrah for the car before she goes up for sale - yet to be decided.
  6. Im currently debating whether to change my setup to achieve a "typical 2J scream" and wondered what QUALITY exhaust manifolds people have used/know to. I'm running Paul's log manifold at the moment, which is a quality bit of kit and ensures great clearance to the dizzy, but I want to achieve a different sound on boost. Here's how it currently sounds: https://vimeo.com/156066788 Here's more like the tone I'm after, Rob's car is running an XS power manifold. We have identical exhausts from the decat back, are both running similar power etc. https://vimeo.com/156067080
  7. From what I gather, the ultimate is only really good for injectors up to 2x stock sized injectors, before it starts to lose resolution as above.
  8. Funny you should say that....the car was treated to some new facelifts for the NEC in November as I had the same opinion:)
  9. Chris has echoed my thoughts. Replace the cat for now, the added backpressure will force the seals together, and the cat internals will also capture any residue still lost by the turbo. Hence the reason I asked if you had just fitted a decat, it's common to see guys have no issues with smoking, fit a decat and immediately start to see issues
  10. Have you recently fitted a decat by any chance?
  11. For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting my other half, you will know just how much of a Petrol head she really is, with a particular interest in Celica's. For as long as I've known her she had lusted for one of her own and so 2 years ago we purchased a gen7 140 for her. She chose and fitted the wheels herself and had planned much more for it. She loved it...for a while...as while the car handled absolutely superbly (I would recommend you give them a go!), she had always wanted an ST205. And so today we collected her, it's a 1996, 81k miles and has had 2 owners of the same family since import. I drove it back faultlessly and was quite surprised how well it drove. She has plans to fit the high rise spoiler, have a few bits of paintwork sorted and maybe some engine work. All in all, she's a happy bunny.
  12. I use A Line in Dudley, absolutely spot on. The car drove completely differently. They'll use stock or custom settings

I may be, does this ring any bells?

I followed it on there back when I was looking for Mk3's. Am I right in thinking you work for a radio station too?

Hi Roger, welcome. Did you used to own a mk3 which you fitted a 2JZ into? I followed your build thread on mk3supra.net if so.
  16. Good to see you still about Linda, I often used to bump into you on the four ashes estate when going to Silverline racing.
  17. Also using one. I don't have a separate boost gauge anymore as I just use the controller. Excellent display and easy to use even for someone as ham fisted as myself.
  18. I'd love to know where you get these figures from Jay First of all, as you know it's the torque that kills the box, not the power. I'm running mine at 1.0bar boost and it made 450hp, 420ftlb. No issues with my box. At 1.3 bar your guess is as good as mine as far as power output goes, but I would imagine somewhere near to the 500hp mark and a suitable and similar torque figure. Again, no issues now for over 18 months. I believe a lot of this is down to a sensible clutch choice, opposed to an unsprung puck type clutch or multiplate item.
  19. Whifbitz, Auto Silicone Hoses(ASH), Viper Performance, TX Autosport. I've used all of them with no issues.
  20. I'm running these Siemens 650cc drop ins. No issues and are supplied with plug and play harnesses. http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/181674712716
  21. Check for vacuum leaks on the breather system for the cams/throttle body/inlet.
  22. Carl wasn't actually that bad of a person. I met him a few times and while he was a bit eccentric, enthusiastic and animated to say the least, he was an ex infantry soldier suffering with PTSD. Also, if you followed him on Facebook as I had, you'd realise he spent a huge chunk of time out helping out in villages where water provision and housing were not adequate. His videos were strange and no doubt his power figures were a little stretched, but a bad guy he isn't. Just to confirm, that is his old car. A shame really as it was clean when he owned it, although not to my taste.
  23. I must admit, I find myself more and more tempted to sell the supra for an R32 GTR. How do you find it compares to the supra?
  24. Do you think they're likely to put it into production in one form or another? I have noticed they've paraded this one around a lot more than most other concepts.
  25. Hi, The only advice i can give is that generally, "single turbo" and "cheap as possible" aren't used in the same sentence as "success" or "reliability". There is an old adage of: Performance Cost Reliability Pick two of the above.
