  1. There's a well documented thread on golf gti forum. You may be able to seek better advise there as many have had this happen to them. Sorry for your loss.
  2. I had a truck take it from port to a mot station. After it cleared mot, truck to my house. If you have correct insurance in place you can drive it from port to a preappointed mot station. However many insurance companies only insure vin numbers just for registering with dvla. Not actual driving.
  3. The v55 form is quite confusing even with the guide they provide. You don't even need to fill in half of it. Mot just has percentages and random numbers. Mot stations don't have the equipment to test for actual emissions used for tax.
  4. Hi, I'm hoping someone will know the answer to this! I've imported a 2004 Toyota Aristo. It has a full UK mot. Along with my V55 form to register the vehicle, I need to send a cheque for a years tax. How am I suppose to know what band the vehicle should be in? I've called the vca, dvla etc. All seem to bat me from one post to another! Hopefully someone here has experience importing and registering a car? Thanks
  5. Wild card. Buy vw shares. I sold my royal mail shares as I couldn't see much more return apart from what they've already made. Vw shares have dropped more than 40% since the scandal broke. Maybe more now petrol cars are affected. The shares will go back up. Vw is too big to fail. Toyota perfect example. Shares dropped after the massive USA recall. They came back up. After a few years.
  6. Are you a qualified optometrist? If not, go with property. If you open an opticians and you're not the optometrist, expect to pay £60,000+ in salary alone for one.
  7. Damn, didn't notice that. Thanks! And thanks dim sum!
  8. Hi, I'll soon have another aristo again which is standard. I'm searching this forum for guides however some links are not working. Some are only a few years old. For example, fitting a boost controller on page: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?145933-install-boost-controller Someone links to:http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/blitz_dsbc/index.html Where have the techarticles been moved to? Thanks!!
  9. What is it showing instead? A blank blue screen? Good luck shaz with the install. Please post up on how it goes. I'll be trying this in a few weeks.
  10. I cannot believe how side tracked this thread went, just because of the spelling and grammar! Do people really have that much time on their hands, that they'd rather make someone feel small on the internet? The original post was completely understandable despite the mistakes. Had the guy stated English was his second/third language after people mocked him, you'd look stupid!
  11. Have you got the instruction book? It says how to select bar output. I think it was holding the two left buttons down for 5 seconds.
  12. Are you referring to my set gain setting? As my greddy unit doesn't give this as a percentage reading. It gives it as a bar (pressure) reading. 0.90 = almost 1bar of boost Is your unit set to output psi?
  13. Low: (not that I ever use it in low) Gain: 22% Set Gain: 0.80 High Gain: 27% Set Gain: 0.90 I never use to low setting as I just turn the boost controller off as the wife drives the car. On high setting the car hits 1.26bar. Bare in mind mine is a vvti aristo bpu+
  14. How on gods f*cked up world did you convince a Toyota dealer to lend you a gt86? Did you walk in with an ak47? Glock ? Tell me so I can visit all the local dealers near me!!!
  15. Looks like a scania truck exhaust... but mounted sideways instead of pointing up
  16. When you say doesn't run properly, can you be more specific? My aristo runs a bit rough when it has sat for 2weeks or longer. A good blast down some carriage ways sorts things out.
  17. I can't remember off the top of my head, will check tomorrow when I'm in the motor.
  18. Joys of having a smart phone and crappy 3g connection. Hit submit by mistake
  19. Was tempted until I read that from 2012 all drag racers must wear a crash helmet. Yes safety and all that but... really..? What about my hair? Lol plus I alread look like a numpty, now I'll look like a squish face numpty
  20. As noz pointed out. Yes they work(to a degree) but need a nuclear power plant in the boot.
  21. As long as you are not taking the feed away from the turn indicators, you should be ok. The quick flash indicator will only happen if you are replacing your turn indicators thus having the need of a resistor. (Afaik)
  22. You shouldn't need any resistors unless the supra has a light out indicator? Did you want to hook up the turn indicators too?
  23. I'd personally T them in along with the current sidelights. But you can take a direct feed from the current sidelight wires leaving the oem lights off.
  24. If you're going for the new 'law' running lights please don't! I have yet to see a nice retro fit. Leave it to the new cars and manufacturers to install in the headlights/bumpers!
  25. Depending on the price and condition of the rest of the car it could be a good buy. It would have to be cheap as chips due to the work that will be involved. Also are you willing to put up with the hassle of the work?
