This is the impression I was under, based on an article I read a while back. Can't for the life of me remember where though. I thought that the BMW/Toyota joint venture was for a Z5 and a new addition to the Toyota lineup. Then the Ft-1 was showcased, seeming as though it would be a standalone model. Could be the case and this version of Toyota's offering is just taking style tips from the FT-1, to then be continued in their new range?

Saw a silver supra in the car park at rough runner earlier. Stock wheels and skirts, with two rear spoilers and high level one. Looked nice [COOL][/COOL] anyone's on here?

Just drove past a nice white supra parked up on Llandennis Road on my way home from work. Anyone from on here? Had deep dish alloys, with black centres I think. Was behind another white one in a taxi a few weeks back with white 3 spoke alloys. Sounded tasty!

Hi Guys, Thought I'd pop these on here, before sticking them on eBay, just in case anybody is after a cheap set of spare wheels. Firstly, I am unsure of the make but they are Advan Racing AVS Model 5 copies. I'm sure the centre caps had something like spec-vav on them but I don't know the manufacturer. Secondly, one of them has a small crack on the edge of the rim. Hence the reason they are now spare. They definitely need a refurb. The curbing on them isn't that bad but my friend had a go at sorting the worst bits with some metal filler and it's not the best of jobs. However, they were sprayed with plasti dip afterwards, so you could barely notice. The plasti dip was only applied in a few layers, as I wanted to see if the colour choice was right. So this means it has mostly come off all the wheels now. I'll give them a good scrub though to get the remainder off. So, onto the photos: How they looked after being plasti dipped: How they looked normally: Not the best of photos I know, just haven't had time to take some good ones. Can take more on request. I was quoted £50 to weld the crack. So these could be a cheap spare set for winter etc. Looking for £60, just to recoup the cost of switching the tyres onto my new wheels. Many thanks Ga

I'll have a good look at it on the weekend and suss out what's what. Be good to get a full list of what I need to replace, before I take a shock off and realise I need a lot more haha! Feeling a little nervous as it is, as replacing a shock will be the biggest job I've undertaken on a car. Luckily it rarely gets used in case things go wrong..

Ah I had the roof off as often as I could! Nothing beats driving around in a supra with the roof off and sun beaming down on you. Hope your latest one is going well. The dust cover is ripped apart on the dodgy side, so was definitely going to be ordering some new ones. So cheers for that. Managed to get some photos of it whilst I had it jacked up. Excuse the state of it, it's in need of some waxoil treatment! The top of the spring doesn't look right: Any thoughts? Many thanks

I may as well do these whilst replacing the shocks. Cheers for the links (again)

Mine is an N/A too, so all good. Thanks again

Cheers for the link, will get them ordered Just checking that there is no difference for these when it comes to N/A and TT? I had planned on getting it booked in for alignment/ geometry, as it doesn't quit feel 'right'. So will get that sorted at the same time. Thanks for the help chaps

Hi Scott, It's been spot on other than that! Most reliable car I've owned to date. Yeh they are stock black ones. Ah thought that might be the case. I'll look into sorting some replacements then. Is there anything else that would be worth replacing at the same time? Cheers

Hi Guys, Wonder if any of you could shed some light on this issue for me please. I've just noticed that the offside rear of my car sits lower than the N/S. This happened before to the front of my GT4 and the cause was a broken spring. So I jacked the car up to check and all looks well, no cracks or visible leaks. I also checked for play on the wheel, there was none, and couldn't see anything glaringly wrong with the drop links etc. After setting it back down, I noticed that the gap was now back to normal. A few bounces on the door sill saw it return to it's lower position. So it seems as though shock is getting stuck when it's compressed. As far as I am aware, the suspension is all stock. So does this point to a broken shock? If so, are you able to get stock shocks refurbished? Or would it be a call to Keron to get a replacement one? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Gareth

South Wales members - Spare 18" Wheel or set of standard wheels?
welshboy replied to welshboy's topic in Supra Chat
I sent him a message and he did indeed offer me the use of a spare! Top lad! I managed to borrow a friends car in the end, so set off earlier in the day. Still though, another example of how good this club and its members are. Thanks again Craig -
South Wales members - Spare 18" Wheel or set of standard wheels?

Ah good thinking! It's on J-spec brakes. Cheers -
Hiya Guys, I know this is a long shot but you never know until you ask! Just taken my car to the garage to get a slow puncture repaired, only to be told it's actually due to a small hairline crack in the wheel. They have given me details for where I can get it welded, if I decide to go for that option rather than getting a new set, which is what I was planning on buying soon anyway. The thing is, I'm meant to be driving up to Snowdonia tomorrow for a weekend away and the Supra is my only car! Was just wondering if anyone local-ish to Cardiff happens to have an old spare 18" wheel I could possibly borrow for the weekend please? It's an NA if that makes much difference. Failing that, even though I can probably guess the answer, is it a bad idea to continue to drive on it? I'm guessing that distance to too far to go on a space saver and it doesn't look like I'll be able to get it welded in time. Many thanks Gareth

I loved my red WRC. Was so much fun when going for a blast up country lanes. So much grip! I had mine when it snowed (here) a few years back. Now that was a LOT of fun!! I bought mine not long after the previous owner had all the front suspension components replaced. So I was very glad that he took the hit for that, as it was a rather sizeable bill! The only other issue I had with mine was two of the temperature sensors giving up on me, almost resulting in me cooking the engine! Luckily I was able to spot something was wrong before it was too late, due to the vent on the bonnet and a cloud of steam coming from it! I went the opposite way and now have an NA supra. Granted mine is an auto, so perhaps the manual box made it better for you, but I am properly bored with it! It's a great cruiser but the performance of the GT4 felt miles ahead. I'd have gotten rid of mine for a TT by now, if it wasn't an aerotop. So going down the engine swap route instead.

What makes you suspect it to be a bogus site? I've used them in the past when I did my wheels and had no issues with them. Was going to be ordering more, as the wheels could do with a few more coats. So interested to know what you've heard/found out to potentially save me from losing money!

All sorted! It was the ECU needing to relearn. Thanks for the help gents, much appreciated. Cheers Ga

Cheers for the replies guys. I'll give that a go tomorrow and have a look at the ICV.

Hiya Guys, Having an issue with the old girl. The car is turning over with no problems and stays on as long as you have your foot slightly on the accelerator, as soon as you let off to idle it cuts out. I have checked the diagnostics and there are no error codes. Any one have any ideas? Bit of background to help: Car had been sat on the drive since November. Turned it over for a while but then went away for a few weeks, so the battery completely drained. The battery charger that I had to hand was playing up, so I called the breakdown guys out and they came and used their charger to get it going. I left it running for about 15 minutes before planning on heading out for a long drive. Reversed off the drive, turned to leave and it just cut out and obviously wouldn't start again due to the flat battery. Luckily the guy wasn't far away so came back. Connected it up again, started no problem, as soon as he disconnected the charger it died again. He used his voltmeter and decided that the battery had had it. Bought a new one today, connected up, starts first time but then the same problem persists. It just dies! Has anybody experienced this before or perhaps has an inkling as to what the cause might be? Many thanks Ga

This. Cruising around in a Supra with the roof off is awesome! Don't get me wrong though, it is pretty slow. I came from a Celica GT4, which felt rapid compared to this. They aren't exactly blisteringly fast either, great fun in the twisties though. Depends if you want the aerotop or not. If you don't then like others have suggested, sell up and get a TT. If you do then go for the engine swap. That's what I plan on doing next year

Nope, not in my Supra. Although I did kill two of my old fiesta's wheels when I ran out of talent on an icy bend during my teens haha.

Hello from another Cardiff owner! I'm down in Cathays, so will keep an eye out for you if you ever venture towards the town centre.
