  1. Went down with my manager from work yesterday, he's owned quite a few cars got an EVO X at the moment and he had a drive also. I trust his opnions on cars as he is very much a petrol head lol. Going down with my stepdad on Saturday so then I will have alot more than just my own opnion to go off. Which is good as these cars are easy to fall in love with!
  2. Tyres were fine had planty of tread left. Spoke to the garage today. The yare getting the Supra balanced and aligned also before Saturday. So I will post back here after the second test drive Checked all the paper work. 2 owners 78K on clock and all service history was included. Looks promising we will see what i can do with the price on Saturday!
  3. Cheers for that And yeah gonna offer lower than 3k and then see what happens hoping to settle for a 3k middle ground so to speak. To spike3.0 your car looks sweet man! You selling at the moment? Wouldn't mind coming to have a look if you are whereabouts in Cheshire are you?
  4. Link Nah didn't stall it. Test drove a few MR2 roadsters the week before and they have a far harder clutch/gearbox than the supra.
  5. Hi guys, Being looking at NA supras for a while and finally got a chance to test drive one today It was a 94 NA manual with 78k on the clock and only 2 previous owners. Condition of the car was mint inside and out. Bad point were that it needs balancing, began to pull to the right slightly at higher speeds and the alloys are fairly cheap affairs. Spoke to the garage about the balancing and they said they can get it sorted so looking forward to a second test drive once the balancing has been done. All in all very impressed by the supra, very powerful and the gearbox is gorgeous to play with! I'm sure you guys all know and love this but just wanted to share my first time( that's sounds kinda weird now lol). Garage are asking 3.5k for her. Not talked about price with the garage but if I can get her for 3k I think it's a damn good deal and the added bonus the garage is only 3 miles from my house!
  6. That thread was rather entertaining!
  7. I like them in silver, I know it is a little more subtle but just looks "right".
  8. Thats strange man! To the OP, good work on the insurance. Just out of interest did you have any named drivers on their? And did you quote online or over the phone?
  9. man 1400 is good. Im 20 and half way their to 1 years no claims and my prices are 4.5k plus! (for a N/A) hopefully mine go down as much I assume it 3rd party though?
  10. Hi mate, have already sent you a PM but just posting in here just incase you don't see it. Interested in the Supra can pay the full £2500 and was just wondering where about you are based so i can come have a look? Cheers
  11. Sweet, will do now. Sent him a PM already. Edit: Now a member
  12. Ah just looked at that. Looks like its been very well looked after. Can't post in the Classified section though, I need to sign up as a member. Hmm desicions. You got me thinking now. red or black
  13. Yeah the guy who owns it bought it from Boyz Toys in High Wycombe. I have read the threads so we have to be very careful what we say about them but it doesn't fiull me with confidence!
  14. Yeah I know what you mean. Just wanted to know what everyones general impression was, is all.
  15. Will try out em all out later on today. So whats the general thoughts on the car? Personally I would prefer a manual but having nver driven an Auto I don't really think I can give judgement yet. What are you guys experiences with manual/auto N/A Supras?
  16. Yeah that is good idea will try that. I am going to be using it mainly as a weekend/social car and do my commuting in my current car (VW Polo) so it wont be my daily drive. Would it be worth contacting my insurance company to see if they do a multicar policy or are they a waste of time? (heard stories of them being no cheaper than seperate insurance quotes).
  17. Cheers for the comments guys. Yeah it really is just insurance holding me back as I have enough for the car easy. I am planning to have the car a while tbh. I can't comment on the condition of the engine as I haven't seen it yet but from the sounds of what your saying most N/As will be generally quite good. Any extra things I can do to lower the insurance, like fitting a tracker etc?
  18. Hi guys, Been looking at Supras for a while (N/As only), I made a thread a few weeks back asking for tip, advice etc and now I think I have found the perfect candidate. It is a black N/A M reg (95) Supra SZ Auto. Got the Veilside front bumper and 3 spoke rotor alloys (I think these look sweet but I hear they are like marmite to some people). 70K miles on the clock. Tax and MOT till September Pics here : Now I don't think the owner is a member on here but not 100% sure as I contacted from the original advert on Pistonheads (which has now expired). He is asking £2500 for it after orginally wanting £3000. Now obviously i can't make a 100% decision till I have seen the car in the flesh (metal lol). But the guy is a 3 hour drive from me so I want to make sure I making it worth my while. Any advice from you guys about checking out the car? (have read the supra buyers guide pdf). Now my main concern which really isn't anything to do with the actual car is insurance. Now I am 20 but with no "no claims" not crashed or made a claim ever. Have been driving for around 6 months and just don't want to get bummed on insurance as the best quotes I have seen are around 4.5K for a year 3rd party fire and theft. Now if insurance does prove too much my main plan is to keep the car and restore it (re-fit the interior, rebuild the engine etc) as my step dad was willing to help me on a project like this. So guys, is it worth going for now or is it too early and you think I should wait abit longer? Cheers in advance.
  19. I do have a soft spot for FTOs but that one. Man what were they thinking with those pink stars! Although for 500 sheets, can't go wrong.
  20. Those cars are ridiculous! Especially the "lambo" doors and hydraulics.
