Seems like a very one sided article. I can't wait until the motoring press get hold of one (Chris Harris, Motortrend, top gear) it gets awarded to high heaven and everyone does a 180 on it

I think the likelihood of toyota making a ferrari rival in 2019 was slim. Lexus aren't even considered that. Hell look at the new NSX, been received poorly. I test drove one of those last week, it's a good car but again lots of online hate. Strange.

The Mk4 TT Supra UK Supra was ~£37,500 in '94, Today, a Mk4 Supra would cost you (adjusted for inflation) almost £76k new. The new car is "52/54K so a good chunk cheaper. It;s also light (by modern standards) which is a good thing! The market is awash with many 1700KG+ big power cars, the MKV is going after the handling "agility" category. Also people complaining about it being "not up to scratch if it needs mods". Erm, what is the MK4 most famous for again? Being the tuner car of choice! The mk5 is not a direct replacement as the market has moved on but I think it is a worthy successor.

I put down my deposit today after seeing the reveal & final specs. The MK V Supra is more like a "grown up GT86" to me. I owned a GT 86 briefly and it was genuinely one of the best cars I've ever had. I currently own a C63 so big power is not too interesting as they are so many other outlets for that these days. I really hope the car handles as well as Toyota have made out because that will be the real clincher.

A quick update, basically when I reset my ECU. I went for a spirited drive and my economy for the week before last was even worse despite driving it sensibly for the remainder of the week! Now fast forward to this week, I reset my ECU again and drove it very sensibly directly after and have had over 20MPG economy so far all week. Am I right in thinking that because I gunned it straight after resetting the ECU, the ECU learnt to give more fuel etc, whereas now it is being more conservative? Sorry I don't really know too much about the stock ECU.

sorry to bump and old thread but at least I searched! Had both my O2 sensors done (Uk spec) and MPG is still poor, so I have reset my ECU tonight by removing the fuse etc. I'll update you guys to whether my economy improves! (17mpg atm stock UK spec)

I've had over 70L in my UK before. Most ever was 71.54L when I was on the light. I'm running a stock UK spec with a HKS superdragger, just had both O2 sensors changed so I'm keen to see how many miles I can do now. Never got more than 282 miles before the light came on from a full tank before. Encouraging to know that a de-cat may increase MPG somewhat.

very nice mate, beware though. The UK bronze rotas, are not the same shade of bronze that the US get, the US get "sports royal bronze" which is a lot more vibrant. I discovered this and cancelled my wheels as I was told the UK bronze is very very dark.

Put simply an NA has the power of most hot hatches with more weight. This alone will set it back for "traffic light GP's", however once on a roll, the NA has great pulling power that most smaller engines can't match. When I had my NA, I had a tussle with a Clio RS200 on a few NSL roads. Past 70 he struggled to keep up. I know that isn't what the Clio RS is designed for but it is just an example.

After owning an NA supra then FWD hatches then a 350z then TT supra, FWD can never compare to RWD. Sure it can be as fast. But being fast doesn't mean it feels right.
