  1. It's super easy to get the RER A line to the underground metro. The RER is like a big metro train that goes underground. Less than an hour I think to Gare du nord, main station. I used to live in Paris. I'm sure itll be an epic trip!
  2. Any pics? I dont have my scissor jack anymore Bbq tokens? I'll bring sausages
  3. Lol I have a set of 16s! Was hoping I'd get 400
  4. Wheel looks quite nice to be fair Mike. You must be glad how well that's come out.
  5. I thought the issue was the mismatch of wheels. David. With my 325 R888 I now get traction okay unless I launch it. I would personally only put 19s on a car if you can get a 12J at least. For the reasons listed above. Get that sidewall wrong and it's dangerous ground. I mean I had run flat Michelins pilot sports and the stiff sidewall made the wheels spin at 80mph on WOT on full boost (even on low setting). R888 have a really soft side wall but I'm sure the compound they are made from also play the major role in their grip. I'd hate to think what any Supra would be like on 19s with say a 265-285 width and a stiff side wall.
  6. If you want ground clearance. Get coilovers or get air cups for your suspension.
  7. I also completed a HND in mechanical engineering. You need to put down the combustion theory principles and start reading some basic AFR tuning guides mate. AFR gauges give a digital number. They are a wideband sensor display (dont ask me what this is. Google it as it will also explain comparison against OEM o2 sensors). I've done much reading on the important and benefits from each typical metric the typical aftermarket ecu offers. It really helped me understand terms and turbo converting principles. My advice for you today would be ignore the principles of combustion from an advanced viewpoint and google basic tuning methods as these will be more relevant to your situation. No cream teas this way! Just fields lol.
  8. You assume the tune was correct. Afr can drift if something fails. Sensors incorrectly function. Afr monitoring is a health check. Helping you indicate problem solving. With fitting a turbo. To a car which has a piggy back. You want as many outputs to measure as possible. You are a great example of tuning without available information and what frustration is can be. Thus why so many advise it. Afr is really a bit like your basic blood pressure or heart rate check when you tell the doctor you dont feel great. Many members wont have one and will never need one. Fitting a turbo. Going single or big power. Are ideal situations where an afr gauge is truly advised. Piggy back ecu capabilities mean the gauge is your verification of the engines basic running operation. I sold my gauge as my ecu displays my output measures on a small touchscreen. But it also tells me the max afr and if theres any warning. You wouldnt go to the doctor with chest pain and not allow him to take some measurements! You can buy them for around 110 second hand and they arent considered an expensive item. Not after youve fitted a turbo! Just a part on the usual turbo fit list. If your engine never had any problems and there was no risk of problems maybe youd never need an afr gauge. But its crucial because in reality you need that health check buddy. With further potential issues you need to know if the tune is happy. Without a numerical value to compare your situation you will only be scratching your head for longer my friend. Get a gauge. Get it dynoed. Both for under £200. Pretty cheap if you get information that helps you understand any variation.
  9. I have a pair mate. Not sure what they are worth. I'll pull them out today to get shipping estimate. Send me your details and an offer mate.
  10. It probably didnt help that the experienced advice was also a sales pitch. Plus the plethora of people having 'unknown misfire' turning out to be coil packs of age. Sadly no one has long term experience with the R8. Hopefully for us all, they are longer life! But I do agree with budget being a consideration. Whether its today's price or future replacement. Both are financial motives. Which is totally fine nothing wrong with it. It's not like if XSpower did coils lol... but if they did!! Imagine
  11. Right foot > traction control lol Better than ABS too lol?
  12. I've always advised getting particular gauges fitted when doing a turbo install. Purely for this reason. Espcially AFR. It's usually a typical part of the list. Definitely work to get one.
  13. Frank is one of our wealthier members lol You can find an AEM or Innovate gauge and sensors for around 120-180. - - - Updated - - - I would google your questions. Worth you reviewing in detail both of what you ask for.
  14. Never heard of a dump valve being set to 12psi. I think theres some confusion here..
  15. Without a dyno print comparison. You might just he getting used to it. Before you start a long what-if thread. Get it dynoed if you think theres an issue and compare your torque and hp values per rpm. Your question will not be answered without some data buddy. Dont forget we get used to speed perception. Get a few power runs locally at a dyno and see if theres a difference. I got used to my 417hp na.t and thought similar. But was just perception.
  16. The paint stage of mine cost £6k as well. Last year. A paint job can be as cheap as you want it. Just a risk of course if the guys dont put the hours into it.
  17. I've R8. Must be the lowered ones are R35 ones then. My mistake. I know Paul said he was doing a lower kit.
  18. Legend of a post there mike. I can personally vouch for the R8 coils. Indeed they are high but Whifbitz sell a reduced height version. So low you can run them on a GE engine and keep the overhead intake. Best to contact Paul and just confirm the cover would be fine. But I have high Hope's they would. From a wiring viewpoint. They dont need an ignitor. Direct signal from ecu. I'm at 603hp. I see many others hitting decent numbers on the R8 coils. Lots of RB engines running them. I'd give the a go mate
  19. 100k would be a tough one to swallow for sure.
  20. They are all for sale. Just at the right price! 100k to sell?
  21. Thanks for kind words buddy. Grey is a nice colour. Some shades look really modern. Mine ended up being more blue than I intended. I love the bgw style. What's your estimated shot size pre spool?
  22. Espcially when you have a dump valve! I dont care what anyone says mate. Its desirable when your NA. Though some sound terrible. Subtle is nice. I dont hear it much these days! ocdworks turbo is so loud. You keeping the nos kit fitted? I'd love a spool shot. Yeah mine took so long due to the bodywork as well though. Turned out more extensive than I thought. Jealous of your engine build. Would love to get mine done.
  23. Interesting thoughts and opinions. I expect similar situations of people milking it contributing to inflating the markets natural increases were also seen during the residential boom. It doesnt make it right and I can see why some people dont like it. But dont we all want the most when selling a car? It would change the whole scene I feel if they rise to R34 prices. Which would be insane. I find the dynamics of that quite interesting. Many sell up. The types of owners change and the response the enthusiasts have, also shifts. Much like it has already. I remember a TT single 585hp costing 16k and I was in awe of the power and ability to own such a car. These days that's NAt money! But back then I'd only paid 3.5k for my little NA.
