The wastegate was the weak point for me in the build. The turbo may not be the highest performance or the most expensive, but I didn't want to fork out until I knew it was a good runner, without that confidence I just didn't want to take the risk. When it runs at 400bhp nicely, Il get a decent wastegate and get water injection. Job done! What are your next big buys? Obviously you have big plans like we all do

Yes mate for sure. I always liked the TRD one, reminded me of a support frame. I like the one whifbitz do, but it will all depend on how high my turbo is. I might not even be able to have one, with the combination of over head intake manifold and turbo it just might not fit.

Hi mate. Collecting the car friday. Should be good fingers crossed. Hoping I get a good result, I had 220bhp when it was last dyno'ed, so I'm hoping I should get some healthy figures with all the goodies I've included in my build. Only thing that might let me down is the wastegate I think, am worried because it's unbranded, though many people don't have issues. Finger crossed I make good power I'll add information as I get it buddy.

Yes mate Im definitely looking forward to it. Been a long time coming, was looking at turbo kits before I even bought the car. Doing a conversion was always on the cards for me and I've learnt so much through doing it myself. I've not gone to the details you have, but after its running I am definitely going to tidy the whole lot up as you and ripped_fear have seriously tidy engines, I need to up my game with the NA crew as its really good to see these engines looking appreciated.

you can upgrade any headlight to HID for the supra if you change the bulbs. prefacelift usually go for a bit less mate. i actually got given a set.

weekend toy every penny spent to drive the supra rather than my focus is a penny that could be spent on my much needed new wastegate!

had an issue today with HT leads not being long enough. handy tip from jekyl is swap cylinder 1 + 2 leads so it just about reachs with the 4 runner dizzy cap. thanks to craig for being at the end of the line when i had an issue

it might have the RR changed on it already. probably best to wait and see and maybe dyno it (or take a bpu owner for a drive). no point increasing the boost to a level that's already present.

get a TT mate, doing a conversion is a right pain from non turbo to turbo. get the transmission you want, auto or manual, dont settle as best to get it right first time

I would of thought there was more risk with an open intake than cam gears? cam gears would run at least with some crap on them wouldn't of thought any crap in the injectors would be good?

Hi guys, was talking to the local car club here in North Devon and the next meet is going to be in April. I usually go along anyway as it's a nice club. It's called BurnOut AutoClub. The guys are really friendly and it's just a local club for people who are into cars. Was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a twin club meet, last meet I attended there was 14 cars ranging from hot rods to supercharged BMW's to tastefully modified turbo motors and a selection of american v8's, there was also custom made trike at the last meet running car wheels was pretty awesome. Usually meet in the afternoon then go for a nice drive somewhere random. I've loads of different photos which I'll post up later, I just thought it might be a good meet to do it with another club with the southwest being so small Only reason I ask now is so can drum up some interest and I'll also talk to the club owner if people were interested.
