  1. The AEM system I was looking at came with different sizes jets, so I was hoping I would be able to select my application from this. With more research I was assuming there would be one of the two I could use. Without understanding the requirements Im not going to purchase anything just yet. A knock sensor would be a good idea, I haven't looked into this and it's something I was going to look into after I've purchased everything else and before the dyno. I've seen 52mm flow gauges, this would be a good idea then I assume. I also wanted to get an air intake gauge. I wanted to compare results to make sure it was actually lowering temps and not doing sod all. EDIT: I should be able to connect my EMU to a knock sensor, I just need to find out the correct frequency and buy a sensor accordingly. Can I locate this in the intake manifold.
  2. Running an NA-T I've got high compression and have been told WI would be a good idea for a safe guard. Not having knock sensors I think the WI would be a good idea just as a safe guard, so tuning in a few extra BHP will only require a shut off device like you say, and a low-level sensor. The AEM kit I was looking at, has a low level sensor output light and output signal, and the AEM boost controller I'm also looking at has the function to connect the two, shutting off the boost controller if the low-level WI sensor is activated. The units I am looking at seem to be able to talk to each other and forfill this requirement, so hoping I can use them together for that little bit extra. NA-T's seem to knock around just below 400, very few people push the limits of the NA's with stock compression and boost, so by doing this hopefully I can play it safe and get the most out my engine. I don't want lower compression at this time, as it will require bigger injectors and my gearbox will fail with a huge jump in power anyway, so a few extra BHP is all I'm after, if I can safe guard at the same time then even better.
  3. Need to check various things to locate if its a fueling issue or a ignition issue. Are you sure the engine is flooding itself, as this would indicate an ignition problem. The easiest thing to check it the ignition, like ^^above^^ water on the spark plugs/leads, do you have any engine light codes coming on, or is the light just stuck on? Can you check your fuel pressure. I know it sounds silly, but is everything connected? Maybe worth checking the voltage on your TPS to see if it gives a steady change of voltage when you move the throttle, though the engine should idle on its own and only be lumpy when driving if this was an issue. Just thinking of things to check mate. EDIT: Also try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. I have a misfire, had a stock ECU fault which screwed everything up. This `probably` won't make a difference, but still worth a try, it solved my constant misfire.
  4. I know WI is used to safe guard against det, but wouldn't using W/M reduce det, therefore enabling increase in timing and more boost? Indirectly allowing for more power by allowing other components to work harder.
  5. I'd like to do track time but it's alot of cash for the little amount of time your on. All group bookings have been filled already. Public groups still have places, no chance of getting a Supra only group session.
  6. I uploaded one earlier without any problems.
  7. Afternoon all, interested in designing some custom pedals. I can get the pedals done, but would like rubber inserts behind them. Anyone who may know of someone who can do this would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Lucky git. Be good to see your beast Jamesy
  9. Can't wait for some motorway cruising Be able to keep up this year.
  10. Where did ya find them? I was thinking about getting mine silver plated. These would be loads better. I'm always pinching ideas of yours mate lol Hope you don't mind but your ideas for suttle changes are too good
  11. I'll be there. I reckon the local southwest lads will be meeting on route again for this. last year was awesome. brendans got.a motor this year and buster. should be a great turnout this year.
  12. Such a good build this. Loving the way you've kept the chrome in the centre of the bay and left the surrounding area orange. Not only time and money but considering to design. Looks ace mate.
  13. Brendan still has the badge on the front of his car as I saw it last night
  14. Glad its just black plastic that's damaged, once that's repaired your never know it was even an issue and look good as new and be stronger as well Should be good to see all the shiney bits.
  15. Should be good mate its a sweet motor
  16. Awesome find. Very educational. Loving the beats too.
  17. Just wanting some opinions on different co2 kits. Didn't know if many people were using them and if anyone had any major problems. I've noticed most kits have a fairly small intercooler ring, can't find many places to buy a larger one without buying all the other required items. Thinking about it, I have shed loads of tube at work, this could probably be made up easy enough? Holes in the correct places using the same OD and wall thickness allowing for adapters to be connected?
  18. How did you calculate your ET? EDIT: Found ET calculators, how easy was that!
  19. When I had mine first dyno run, it pushed 219bhp with 168whp. Which I thought was pretty good for an old engine. Clearly if 200whp has been hit on an NA than that was rubbish I'm only pushing 310whp with a turbo!! Geez, maybe I should buy your engine Neil
  20. Ok strange. Ive used USB mode countless times for file transfer, going to try it out on my laptop at home see if downloading it again on a different set up works any better. Maybe my work computer is not recognizing the phone like it should. I'll give it ago on my windows 7. Thanks Scott.
  21. Supercharged conversion will take alot of time and money, swapping the head for a big single head isn't worth it, financially if you could afford all that business and lowering compression with engine rebuild pistons etc etc etc you probably wouldn't own an NA and would have bought a TT. Read brendans thread, he had 310 meaty BHP that pulled like a train. Aim for that and your be a happy bunny.
