  1. When you start working on it make you should do a build thread. Lots of people want a single headlight intake with most of the headlight intact. I have a few headlights spare, I'm tempted to try and make one to sell just to practice
  2. Which one were you thinking of mate? How is your coming on.
  3. Where you refering to the single or twin headlight intake? I finished my single headlight intake buddy. Here's the thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?254587-My-Custom-Headlight-Intake-(PicHeavy)&highlight=custom+headlight+intake Though I also wanted to try and make a twin headlight intake, building in new dipped beam units where the foglights are located. This is a heavy project, and I've been super busy with Uni work so progress is slow. Twinheadlight intake thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?259267-My-Twin-Headlight-Intake-Build&highlight=twin+headlight+intake
  4. lol. so wrong, but I love it.
  5. 6000k do not look white, but the frequency is rated as white. I wouldn't go up against ScottM anyday of the week lol you'd have more chance taking him on down the strip http://www.delonixradar.com.au/hid-xenon/colour-chart.php

    1jz to be

Not sure about other bits mate. I know the short shift genuine are expensive. BarnyBrendan is selling one for a reasonable price compared to new.
  7. Na 2k for a polished / ported head on an NA is NUTS mate whatever power your running. I have an idea how much I'd like to spend, but I don't want to go nuts, it all depends on how much it will cost rather than what I'd like to spend. You can polish it yourself to help flow, it takes a while but all helps. JamieP said he had 270bhp on his block without boost, it CAN be done but obviously that's alot more than just the headwork, but it all helps mate. GLWS
  8. What the hell are you on crazy man
  9. It's barely noticable, but its definitely there at 6000k. It's your call. Either way I've just been emailed and I can still get them for you my fellow NA club member
  10. The head is alloy isn't it? Im sure a bit of neil's-magic-shed time could sort that out. I'm hoping to get mine done, I would like to think its less than 2k considering its not the hardest material going.
  11. All the 6000k kits I've bought has a slight blue tint to them. I bought my dad's TVR a set of 4300k and they look white. I haven't had a clear white set of 6000k yet, I actually intended on the tint when I ordered them. 4300k are rated as yellow, but you'd be best to order this frequency if you want white IMO as you will hardly see any difference and will be sure you won't get any blue tint.
  12. Car is running fine. I still have slight issues when under constant load I think my ECU requires a check up from an ECU guru that didn't answer his phone last night (I was a bit late ringing him ). Best peice of advice I can give you; don't buy second hand electronic parts. Thanks mate Yea I did, after having a flat battery over night at the garage I left it at, the fault was cured and drove better than ever. Since then I still get the odd hick-up which I think it EMU related. I tried changing sooo many ignition components, after I done an emissions test the engine was telling me it wasn't ignition and more fuel related. The emissions were so low I was running the same percentage hydrocarbons as whne BarnyBrendan ran his engine on 100% meth, garage told me they were so lean he was worried to even drive it. After ECU was reset, emissions shot back up and car didn't miss a beat. I'm in the progress of getting this sorted, then I'll be ordering a boost controller. Got my eye on the AEM tru boost, 52mm so will be an extra gauge to try and locate somewhere. Hopefully top the 400. Then I can concetrate on my new engine Bit concerned about the rattle the clutch is causing, whether I have a bearing somewhere getting worn out quickly due to the competition clutch being all-or-nothing and juddering the gearbox I don't know, it definitely need's looking at. Just gonna spend some time getting my bay looking nice now, nothing worst than showing off your dirty turbo.

    1jz to be

People do swap the R154 into supra's, the 1jz engine swap is also a conversion that's been done a fair few times. There is actually a build thread at the moment with a 1jz being put into a mkiv, Welshbuddy has just got his 1jz running. Both swaps do require a bit of tinkering. I've seen spoilers from a supra on a soarer and I think it looks mint. Apart from that, I don't think there is anything that's a straight swap, though they would be the main thing's you would be interested in swapping (bar the spoiler ) EDIT: 1jz build - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?259336-Welshbuddy-s-Supra-Build-Engine-Conversion-with-videos&p=3311122&highlight=welshbuddy#post3311122
  14. Wouldn't it be worth getting it ported and polished and then swapping it onto yours?

    Oversized Pistons

Max recommended oversize pistons seems to be 87mm. 88mm wouldn't be worth the risk anyway I dont think. Yes a bigger turbo would be nice, but then it's best to understand all options and modifications and for what reason you are doing them as well as just replacing a big turbo and hoping everything else will be able to keep up with it. if i can get a little extra power purely on selecting slightly larger pistons its worth considering. looks like 87mm is the max.

    Oversized Pistons

Is it possible to get 88mm pistons? I assume it gets to a certain point and the risk of the chamber failing becomes more likely.

    Oversized Pistons

    Mis-type!!! Thanks.

    Oversized Pistons

From different sources it looks like the main reason is due to wear and tear and re-newing the engine bores.

    Oversized Pistons

Would there be any power difference with the increase in 0.067cc? i.e. is it even worth it
  20. Evening all. Was wondering what benifits having over sized pistons would give an engine. Stock 2JZ are 86mm, various companies sell 86, 86.5 and 87mm. Is there any benifit to this, aside from lowering the compression to reduce chances of det, the TT compression is fair low as it is, would increasing the piston size from 86mm to 87mm increase the cc capacity enough to make it an added feature? Thats clearly not the answer as it was a random out the box guess, any ideas? May be a silly question, just wondered.. Thanks
  21. Were they the stock 330's mate?
  22. Me Ree! Nice to see you on here mate I'm jayforever21 on clubna-t. Glad to see you have finally joined this forum! Hows the motor coming along.
