  1. Now I get ye. I agree. Opens the window to allow for issues though doesn't solve them. I think the topic of problems got a bit muddied then mate. Do agree with it opening band for errors. Was just relating to the first post thats all. Aligned now mate. You forged?
  2. What can't you use out of interest. Put your little rocket away
  3. You're indicating the tune causes rings to go. Isn't that a dangerous assumption? Especially when rings aren't forged and pistons wouldn't fix anything that's causing rings to go assuming it's a particular characteristic of the current setup. Have to say lad I actually don't agree with the second part of what you're saying here.
  4. It can. But not forever. Service items like rings may be few and far between but nothing lasts forever I suppose.
  5. It's time to buy a multi meter and do resistance checks..
  6. Loving this mate.
  7. Ooo that's a good one. Especially if current isn't enough to kick it over.
  8. I'd run through the earth's you've checked. To be anal about it. Ones that has caused me pain, is one on the intake manifold and there's another near alternator which comes from the dizzy.
  9. I think I'd use the size to determine your power goal. I think I'd choose a 62mm turbo over a larger one. Some would say most 62mm are at the top of their power and may reduce life, but their max power isn't bouncing off the limiter and its designed for those levels so why not use it. I'd say size determines choice really. You could use the 264 cams with a 62mm but cams on a 64mm for 700hp I'd say isn't really needed. I'm at 600hp on a 62mm on stock cams and non vvti. I'd love to try the new garretts. Go for the g30!
  10. You're bias. You know my plans
  11. Yeah makes sense. I've ARP stuff anyway even though stock parts. I'm still undecided if I want to even fix anything. I might just go crazy and not waste money on this.
  12. If you would be happy with 4-450hp, NAt will always be cheapest route. If you do some minor work yourself, grab a few bargain second hand parts, will always be cheaper. If you think you'll want 500hp or beyond, get a TT to begin with. The extra faff getting an NA to those power levels makes is the lesser choice. If you can't afford a TT manual. Just keep saving.
  13. A couple for sure. But not as many.
  14. Ah I thought you wanted 3.4 one day buddy.
  15. When's she due a stroker?
  16. Lol.. weeeeell. I thought 58 would be nice. Spool hard, no problems. 68mm. Dream life!
  17. Hasn't been any dramatic occurances in here for ages. The oem surge has killed a lot of builds, not much folk do these days apart from fix stuff.
  18. Maybe. I still go to them for tuning and I'll get them doing my build too.
  19. From what I understand, they just didn't get a lot of forum traffic.
  20. I kinda agree yet disagree. While stroker adds more torque typically. I think camming the crap out of it might not be the way forward. Port and cams would help for sure. Seen varying opinions on valves. May be worth considering, being NA may make a difference. A titan 3.5 kit added 50hp at 6-700hp with no other mods. I know its boosted. So not exactly relative. I think having a 300+ NA would be awesome. Cams port and stroke may end up getting you somewhere you hadn't thought possible. But maybe hit the 300 first, easiest choice I guess. Just love the possibility of stroking an NA engine. I'm bias on stroker for everything mate done listen to my waffle When I first looked into tuning NAs back in 2010, people were regrinding and all sorts. Even using GTE cams to try and grab power, before the possibility of dizzy gears being on the cams. Wonder if a squirt of e85 would help?
  21. 470hp is so cool for an NA, such a nice car mate.
  22. Looks nice mate. Does that version have much difference in the engine vs the older model?
