Believe it or not i've got some shifty manual conlog immobiliser where you have to plug the key in. It never used to be slow to disable... could it be it? Chris, if i was to send you the starter motor, how long would my car be off the road for until i get it back?

Delay before the engine starts turning over. I turn the key and nothing, not a sound for a couple of seconds, then it turns over and fires. Strange though sometimes its fine and other days it does it.

A strange thing is happening with my supe when i go to start it, there is a delay ranging from 2 - 5 sec from when i turn my key and the car starting. Could it be the battery needs charging/replacement? Anyone else experienced this?

Supra_Al & Adam: Cheers guys for the help, i'll give it a go this weekend! Far: I'll bear it in mind next time. When it happened, all i could think was "IT'S MY NEW CAR, YOU C*NT!", while failing to skillfully dodge the boulders bouncing down the road at me...

A few months back, i was stuck behind a lorry which was helpfully letting stones out onto the road bouncing into my car resulting in a few chips to my windscreen!!! :( Anyway, cleaning my car today and i noticed a couple of chips on my roof and under my spoiler which look like their starting to rust. Is there any tips on touching them up, because i'm sure you have to remove any trace of rust beforehand. Also i don't want my car looking like it's been attacked with silver tippex...

Since this is the first time i have had to change the front pads on the car, has anybody got any idea on how much it is for OEM pads on a J spec with 16" standard wheels (currently saving for some 18's! )?

plus as i'm not applying the brakes at the time, would that still be the warning system on the pads?

Last couple of days in my J spec Supra, i turn right and i get an "eee eeee eee" noise and i presume its something to do with the brakes or suspension playing up (not tires on tarmac ) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since this thread is along the same lines... When using manual mode you switch gears by using the lever but to change down into 1st you have to press down the button on the side to let the 1st gear be used. Are you allowed to use this gear other than when first starting off? I'm just a bit scared of killing the gearbox whilst changing down when rolling...

I presume attaching one would mean that i'd have to cut a hole in my existing bonnet. A bit risky if i was to do it myself. I suppose i could pay someone to fit it but then the costs involved would probably near the price of buying a new one...

Will a uk spec bonnet (ie. with vent) fit on my Jap spec supra, and if so how much would it cost? I think it looks like it's missing something without the vent.
