  1. Do we have a list of supra friendly insurers, telephone numbers and people to ask for on the forum anywhere? I'm sure there used to be one, ive done a search but can only turn up suggestions of companys, nothing as comprehensive as company/telephone/contact(if there is a contact) If we dont it could be usefull, I'm happy to provide the names/numbers of the numerous people I'll be hassling in the next week in an atttempt to save some cash.
  2. surprisingly few work wheels fit over UKs, my 10" wideboy work meisters skim the UK calipers!!!
  3. piping set can be gotten on ebay for about 60 quid, fitting is about 100 i think Phoenix said. I'm not sure of the brand to be honest, but its of reasonable quality and is nice and big.
  4. im surprised this hasnt been snapped up yet, its perfect for anyone going single on a budget. its been tested and is leak free according to thor.
  5. Hi All, Bought this off Thor a few months ago, i was going to polish it up and fit it, but i need to plough all my dosh into (another) round of re-work and re paint the worlds most irritating TRD rear quarters, All details of the FMIC are here, there was a lot of interest at the time: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=98886 im just after what i paid (100), ive cleaned it up so it looks better than in the thread pictures, and its been sat in the conservatory, i can take another pic if anyone wants, but there didnt seem much point. collection would be best, but i could post at buyers cost too.
  6. that makes sense, i had a simmilar problem with central locking that works on the same principle. just had a look, mine r held in place by 2 cable ties, probly a bodge when they fitted New front bumper. had a fiddle n think its fixed, gonna put an extra cable tie on to tighten it up. cheers dude!
  7. popped the bonnet on sunday and the in car lever wouldnt click back properly then the bonnet wouldnt click locked, after some fiddling i got it to lock, (lever inside still wouldnt go back properly), bonnet popped up within 60 secs of starting drivig (fortunately the second bonnet latch kept bonnet down), then stopped clicked it in, and next time i went over a bump, its out again. im pretty sure its to do with the interior (lever) side rather than the actual bonnet latch, has anyone had this problem/can offer advice?
  8. its the rear 1/4 thats the costly bit, needs pannel beating to fix which makes things expensive. they wrote mine off with just rear 1/4 and door dent. ...but i bought it back and used the payout to fix. dont let another supe die dude!
  9. give sky a go, they'll try to beat your best quote, they did for me, (i rang everywhere n left sky till last).
  10. compaired to the ammount of money ive spent getting my WB right, this ones a STEAL! ...assuming it is right of course, you can never tell, some WB problems take 6-12 months to surface. its only worth as much as someone will pay for it though,
  11. I tried for 2 years to get MPIII for my supe, but didnt have any luck, anyone know whos supe this is?

    Colour

...it was matt h that started the thread with loads of wild coloured TVRs, maybe he'll post a link, because i cant find the damned thing.

    Colour

the lambo orange / candy apple has been done and done. theres so many impressive colours out there that havent, someone posted a link a while ago to loads of TVRs with very impressive/unique paint jobs, that were as nice as LO or CA but havent been done on a supe. do a search on tvr paint or somthing to find it.
  14. someone did a calc on this a few years ago, it was over half a million pounds for a DIY brand new supe from toyota parts. - NOT cheap, lol if i was a billionaire, ...id do it!
  15. cant argue with that. lol ...anyway, this mate is saying they got a 93, and not only put a vvti 2001 engine in it, but also a trip box in? thatd be a massive job, matching up the 93 electronics with the trip box, and something that hasnt been done before, no precident = v time consuming/hit n miss. presumably there'd be serious difficulties to overcome (ecu etc) wise with vvti engine in 93 as well. are u shure this guy isnt talking poo? i'd have thought itd be cheaper to buy a 2001 than source a scrap 2001 engine/trip box and pay to get it put in a 1993. it makes no sense. does it make sense to anyone else? ...anyone?
  16. fair point darren, i was assuming 2001 new built non vvti engine, as they might do in an insurance job if they were daft enough not to write off. theres no mention of vvti in the original post. HOWEVER my point still stands, id sooner have a well cared for non vvti than a treated like poo vvti one, are you saying you wouldnt?
  17. actually, there was very nearly one non vvti trip, - mine! even though a lot of the electrics were there (mine being facelift anyway) it looked like too much hard work, n i'd have had to loose my TRD steering wheel, which would have been much much too hard.
  18. hair splitter! lol i havent found a definitive factory change over date, (yet), but im sure it was jan07. it was aug/sep when they started registering them. and theyve got to shift all the pre vvti/trips before they start registering the vvti's in aug/sept. ...pointless argument, are you bored at work as well by any chance pete? lol no definately no non trip vvti's. on that at least we can agree. this thing with the new engines is silly too, a 93 engine thats been cared for/done longish trips can be much better than a 2001 thats just done the school run every day and been treated like poo.
  19. been trying to find the exact date of switch to vvti/trip at factory, i always thought it was jan97 as the facelift non trip bracket was 8/9 months. id be interested to see what the earliest vvti/trip car and latest non vvti/auto facelift are in the club.
  20. none exist as far as i know, the switch to vvti happened at same time as the switch to trip,
  21. no shit, i own one! lol they did facelift non vvti/trip 96-97, 97 on they ONLY did facelift vvti/trip. i said 97 facelift autos were trip as std, not all facelift autos.
  22. yup facelift autos post 97 had a trip box as standard. they still made the supe in japan until 2001ish, but in v limited numbers. also toyota still do brand new parts, so theoretically you could build a 2007 engine if you wanted too, itd cost a bob or two tho. doesnt necessary mean your friend isnt talking poo about his particular engine tho.
  23. you used to be able to get a government grant towards the conversion. and they used to do a production astra on lpg which a lot of busines's used (low tax), but its discontinued, theyre all going hybrid nowerdays. i cant help thinking that if LPG takes on, price/tax hikes will follow, and if it doesnt, itll become harder to get hold of at petrol stations. filling up at home could work though.
  24. there u go, if you want it doing properly talk to Gaz/envy, sounds like their new guys have it sorted. think the micro bubbling would still potentially happen even if god himself painted the car tho. (its caused by the kit Not the paint as i understand it). and theres no escaping the 10k+ cost for kit/fit/wheels/paint even if its spot on 1st time. Gaz, dont forget to pop me a pm/line at some point about my trd issues, no rush though.
