250 and ill pick her up, assuming youre not too far from Reigate? -
oh man unlucky ill give you 25 quid plus pnp for it dude,
-
you cant get a lot of the TRV paints any more (or theyre silly expensive) as theyre solvent based, including reflex purple as i was going to put it on mine, theres lots of simmilar non solvent based ones out there, but still silly money for the flips, and i can say from experience they show every bloody stone chip.

spot the guy that hasnt built a wide arch supra!!! ...if only you knew the pain you'd understand the price, please please PLEASE have a go at buying a supra and a ebay kit, see how much money you lose, ahem, i mean make! anyone thinking about a wide arch is a million times better off if they buy it on the car, you know what youre getting if its on there already if someone wants a supra thats a bit different and can afford it, then this is the car for you, good luck with the sale! -
Wide bodykit vs standard bodykit on a 'spoilerless' supra
albundy68 replied to SupraRider's topic in Supra Chat
two words, bloody expensive! give me what i paid in bodywork, paint, wheels and tyres over the past 5 years and you can have my TRD kit, and the car its attached to for free! my advice for anyone considering wide arch, buy a supra with the kit already on, all of the benefit and none of the pain. -
TRD kit is only a couple of inches wider, you still need the wider wheels or it looks silly. if youre serious i would wait for a supra simmilar to the one your after (i.e. with kit) to become available here or in japan and buy that, its M-U-C-H-!-!-! cheaper to buy the kit on the car, than put it on yourself, and if its on the car you can see how its been fitted and be a little more confident youre not going to need 3 attempts. mine has had 4 attempts at the kit to get it right involving 3 garages, 3 re sprays and 4 colours. it gives the neighbours plenty to talk about but isnt good for the bank balance! i hear what youre saying about changing the rear, i would just buy one kitted with normal kit and just change rear rather than buying a supra and attempting to source the whole kit and fit it and get everything right. if you can afford it, someone will change it for you, and you'll still be a lot richer than starting from scratch. If i could go back 5 years and offer myself the above advice i would sit on and punch 'past me' until he accepted the advice, it'd be a lot less painful in the long run.

hope you have plenty of money to throw away if you are considering putting a WB kit on a supra, as well as the wide kit costs, and the paint, and the fitting (which is a bloody nightmare with rear quarters), dont forget wide wheels to fit the arches (£3K new and difficult to find second hand as not much short of a lambo uses wheels wide enough), then new suspention for the wheels, oh and the tyres, nearly a grand for a full set. i have spent well over £15K getting the fit and colour of my WB right, with the wheels etc. but i have been unlucky, dont be surprised if its £10K on top of what you pay for the base supra though. you'll end up with a fast reliable unique car dont get me wrong, but its worth knowing what youre getting into before you get going.

Oh, and if u do want to buy back make sure that's sorted as part of the deal before they pay out, then you know it'll go through. If they write it off as anything other than a cat d (which is lowest if I remember correctly) you'll have a nightmare fixing as anything higher would indicate structural/chassis damage.

If you don't have an (official) agreed value on the policy (as per sky pre 2007) the insurer will make up their own minds on the value of your car despite what it might say on the document. They would base if it is economical to repair on this value. Once the car has been assessed you can get the report with the damage, estimated cost to repair and their estimated value. Then u can contest, they'll always give a low value and a high cost to repair in my experience, but you can get your own estimate and provide adverts of simmilar supes for sale to prove its worth. I don't fully agree with branners, it depends on the situation, they wrote mine off as uneconomical to repair with minimal rear quarter damage and hugely over estimated the cost to repair, so I took the write off money then bought the car back and got work done myself (rear 1/4 dent doesn't show when its under a TRD wide arch kit), 5 years later the cars still fine mechanically. I have a feeling that if the cars as bad as u think, you may be better off letting them write it off, but if you do make sure you don't accept their first offer, (unless its fair). Then you could see about buying back and getting your mods off then selling on for parts, its been done many a time before.

HELP! Value Project Wideboy, for Sky agreed value
albundy68 replied to albundy68's topic in Supra Chat
Do you have a link to Jons for sale please Jamie??? -
Envy's is a copy Dunk, exactly same as yours and mine, they imported theirs at same time as i got mine. All 3 are copies (aledgedly) taken from the original molds when TRD were finished with them, i dont know how much truth there is in that though. Anyone (stupid/rich enough) to want to source a TRD kit should speak to Envy, to source though, not to fit. I wouldnt reccomend Envy to fit, i had a LOT of problems with the guy they sub contracted the fitting work out to, ended up having to go elsewhere about 4,000 pounds later.

Hi Guys, Some help please, just renewed insurance with Sky and kept the 'agreed value' at 15K (I valued it at more than 15K last year but 15K is highest they allow without a tracker), Sky have come back saying 13K in current market. I said ****! ...anyway, ive scoured the net but can only come up with one TRD GT3000 for sale at moment and its an NA for 12.5K http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/667916.htm I need some valuations from 'like minded car enthusiasts' please, so if you dont like the paint (which has always been a point of contention, but she's been black, midnight purple, blue flip and is now green flip and this is definately the one she suits) just pretend you do, ok. Ok, spec. 97 facelift (one of last non VVTi off production line) TRD Kitted Auto Supra on a P plate 40K miles TRD Kit (3K plus 5K to fit and paint, actually more like 12K to fit/paint the problems ive had and get it right but ce la vie) TRD leather steering wheel TRD Dials Work 13" wide on back 18" wideboy wheels (3K with rubber) BPU - Apexi induction/zorst de cat, etc etc JIC adjustable coilovers (2K) loads of little bits like Levoc gear stick, alloy dial surrounds etc. a very tidy, very low milage example. Am i crazy asking for 15K agreed value? What do you 'like minded enthusiasts' think? pics below... (apologies for the pull pics, shes much shinyer/greener when its sunny)

...Argh!!! Not again! Posted via Mobile Device

Am I the only one that finds that VVTi definition every post really annoying? The difference between vvti and non vvti at bpu isn't huge, probably a greater difference between a supra with a decent condition intercooler and a crappy fally to bits one. My advice would be to find a well treated supra that you're happy with, don't stress too much about the vvti, (but its a bonus if u do find a good supe that also has it) Posted via Mobile Device

jus paid dude!

I'm not 100 percent the abflug kit fits pre facelift, according to a recent thread anyway, (can't see why they wouldn't but that's what it said) and if u fitted them to some grotty old lights you'd end up with a grotty old lense with the scatter markings, not nice. My advice to mr cox would be make sure you know what you're doing before selling because they aint cheap to replace, and you'll have a job finding better looking lights. ...That and once you start messing about opening lights up (as per abflug) you open yourself up to months of sorting airtightness/fogging up issues!
-
Aren't the abflug just inserts for original. Lights? I.e. U need the originals? Anyway these are 400 new so expect 200 plus

for sale (Pre) Hybrid Facelift headlights (reconditioned)
albundy68 replied to suprattgaz's topic in Parts for Sale
the real difference is on the inside, facelifts have a completely different inside thats carbon instead of silver, these have the silver painted black not the carbon facelift insides, gaz has taken some pre facelifts, painted the (pre facelift) insides matt black, then put a facelift lense back on, presumably because it was much cleaner than the original he took off, youre right facelift lense/pre facelift lense it doesnt make a huge ammount of difference, (though they are 'slightly' different as gaz says) -
oi, theres a charge for use of albundy car pics without permission! lol good job on the bit that was being sorted, the guy does have paint matching talents. dont be surprised if im back begging for more little bits though, because its still not perfect (non AFR bits i might add)
