  4. Like it says on the title, mine has gone missing from dudes garage in the move, its just the mechanism, (Kev at envy is trying to get me a pic of his), im pretty sure its the same on UK/Jap TT/NA etc etc. Does anyone know of any supras breaking at the moment, or in the past few months? Because i wouldnt have thought this would be a particularly rare or sought after bit...
  5. cheers for the offer simon!!! but its ok, i have the cats, still on the car. The de-cat was bought, paid for, then went missing from dudes without me even seeing it, nevermind getting it on the car! Think i know what happened to the plugs, though it wasnt the person that ended up with them's fault.
  6. Hi all, some may, some may not know of my supra saga, i wont go into it because it'll take forever... But my car was at Dudes for some serious work (fitting of TRD widearch kit), when he errrm, 'was called away' This left me with a car at dudes in bits (LOTS of bits), a job 50% paid for which wasnt even close to 50% complete, and a major problem. At quite a cost to myself i've had the car shipped up to envy so they can finish the job, (Kev n Gaz have been spot on and have made it as cheap as they possibly could). BUT I'm still paying again for work already paid for, and had to pay over 500 quid to get it out of dudes and up to envy. Anyway, lets just say the projects costing well into 4 figures more than it should have... (and it was never cheap to start with!!!) Then to make things worse, (and the point of the post) some things have gone missing while my car was at dudes. - A j-spec double de-cat that i bought from dude while my car was there, (so will have been loose at his yard, or still on the car of whom ever he was selling it for) - A set of brand new denso IK22 plugs - A rear boot latch. If anyone thats picked things up from Dude's over the last few months has accidently acquired any of the above, could they let me know, it'd mean a lot to me if i could avoid further loss of cash replacing them. Also branners suggested that someone might have something simmilar to the above bits that they could donate or let me have cheap, if so that'd be well appreciated. Ok end of essay/rant, thanks for reading, (i do go on...) And watch out for some pics of the car comming in the next couple of weeks!
  7. almost... but im having some 'serious' problems getting insured!!!!
  8. full resprey with colour change 1.5-2.5K depending on quality, for standard paint. Think it was going to be an extra grand for flip paint on mine (again depending on type/quality), its v expensive stuff. Also if you have a ding its a real PITA to get matched, and stone chips in flip paint stick out big time, or so i believe...
  9. advanced ebay 101: when a buy it now is neotiated, make sure the seller relists as 'buy it now for mr smith' then if someone else jumps in they dont have any right to kick up fuss legally. fair play to chilli though, if i'd have seen it i'd have bought them too, and ive already got UK's!!! lol all's fair in love and ebay!
  10. glad to hear its all sorted cliff! one of these days i'll get mine finished and we'll have to meet up for a drink! (still havent seen the front bumper fitted and painted, and that was 'years' ago!!!)
  11. classic car insurance is basically low/limited milage insurance, dead easy to get. The sky guys would do it, and the 'other' BBS has a discount deal set up for supra's on limited milage with Livingstones, like any insurance, worth trying a few places...
  12. talk to the insurers about buying it back, i did it with mine when they wrote it off. And the cost of the repairs was about 15% of what the so called 'assessors' said it would be. If you buy it back you can sell on for parts, or get rebuilt yourself. OR If you buy it back im sure theres someone on here that would take it off you for parts or to rebuild, at a profit to yourself. (Buy back for write offs is usually about 15-20% of whatever they determine the value to be, so not alot unless all thats left post 'incident' is a shell!!!) like i said i did it with mine, (and it funded a TRD widearch kit for the supe!!!) if you want anymore info/advice just PM me! Also DONT take their first write off offer, they'll offer you next to nothing because alot of the time they get away with it, make sure you get the actual value, not what they 'think' its worth!!!
  13. cheers CJ mate!! I'll put a lamb in suspenders in the post to you in the morning by way of thanks!!! aye branners, fully liscenced and scaring grannies on the roads of oxfordshire!!! - did you ever manage to get those OEM skirts you were after? got TRDGT3000 rear arches courtesy of dude, (the hard bit) and from what i could see he'd done a reasonable job on them! (but still waiting an expert oppinion). Cars off up to Kev and the Envy crew tomorrow to finish the job, I'm 100% confident in them to finish the car to show standard, (hence the justification in putting it on a trailer from brighton to newcastle - looooooooooong waaaaay!!!) Dont want this to turn into a Dude discussion, (if it gets out of hand feel free to close, ive got the address i was after).
  14. and yes, i know the chances of him being there are somewhat slim! :thumbdown (But meeting some of the other people from his yard tomorrow and forgot to get an address!) DOH!!!
  15. MP II and III are both flips, was looking into getting MPII (or III) on mine, but III is all but impossible to get and II is v v expensive, (2-3 grand for paint hardner etc at cost!!!)
  16. well done on passing the test, it aint easy, (i should know - i did a double length test for naughty drivers the other month... dont ask!) Having driven a MR2 and owned a celica before the supe, i'd say go for a NA MR2 if its in the build up to the supe, being RWD theyre alot closer to the supe handling wise. Though celicas are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better looking than MR2's!!! (ducks for cover)
  17. more like anything over 1/3rd in my experience!!! But mine was an import, when it comes to repairing jspecs on insurance they just arent interested!!!
  18. just make sure you get a supe with foldy in wing mirrors then it doesnt matter!!! Most of the J specs either fold in manually, or electronically via a switch inside, (sure to impress the chicks!!!) lol
  19. 217K!!!!! thats got to be a BBS record!
  20. did anyone see 5th gear this week? What were they doing buying a lotus to try and top 200mph, they should have bought a supe, i was most amused when after paying 20 grand odd, they didnt even manage to get the thing home before the gear box went! Then after spending big money on a turbo, tuning and gearbox refurb... the gearbox went (again) on the way to the runway! LOL!
  21. i probably would have used a pic like the below for reference, with the TRD bonnet and spoiler, thats the whole kit! ] Agree 100% though OEM are not TRD! Spoiler or no spoiler though, thats the question...
  22. that sounds cool! Dude... Pimp my paint job!!! All i want is a really dark really shiny purple thats almost black. Maybe we need to look at the lambo colours again dude, thats deffo not the one i was after!
  23. do i ever want it darker, much much darker, that colour looks a bit on the pics! But i'll reserve judgement till ive seen it in the flesh,
