  1. Have to agree with the above, a NA-T build sounds like it could suit you, especially if you like to do the work yourself. Apparently, and it certainly seems, it can be done on a relatively strict budget as well
  2. Cheers! you don't see many and I like to be different so thought stuff it, only live once
  3. Cheers It was from eBay recommended by Josh42 on here, I shall get the link from him and post it up on here for future reference.
  4. I decided upon a set of Rota GTR's for this, finished in gloss black and most importantly without the red lip that the gloss black finished GTR's always seem to have. I decided on 18x9.5J ET30 all round as I much prefer the concave effect all round. To keep with the staggered effect though I will be using staggered tyre sizes, 235/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18 on the rear along with rolled arches all round to be sorted by arch enemy all being well. The rears will inevitably end up beng run with hub centric spaces depending on clearance. I was like a kid at Christmas when these boxes arrived : Couldn't resist opening them up, although this pic doesn't show just how concave they are:
  5. Whilst it's all out the car I would of been crazy not to have a crack at dying a few interior items. Headlining: Carpet half way through (forgot to take a finished picture sorry) Not bad for an hours work
  6. Decided before I fork out the cost of facelift front lights I'd have a crack at re-furbing the original items. My cooking skills: Split, plastic primed and rubbed back (along with Josh42's inserts): Painted: Lense before: Lens after wet flatting and polishing: All back together and sealed: Overall, massively impressed with the results and would recommend having a go to anyone
  7. Cheers mate Black Rota GTR's pictures to follow...
  8. Next step was to get her completely resprayed, went for a colour you don't see on many cars and is definitely a marmite colour, Nugget Yellow. It looks different in different lights, has excellent gloss when in direct light and turns into a shouty colour, whilst out of the intense light it goes back into a more dignified yellow (if there is such a thing ) I have chosen to have the engine bay painted in a contrasting metallic grey at a later date as the engine will be coming out. A few extras on top of the respray have been to colour code all the arch garnishes, front plastic lip, smooth front bumper, delete rear aerial, delete rear wiper, delete rear washer jet and smooth all badges. Into the bodyshop she goes...: That's where we're up to with the bodywork so far. Glass has been re-fitted along with the doors and tailgate.
  9. Having already owned one Supra (TT BPU auto), and then sold it for a more sensible Astra Gsi which lasted eight weeks, I decided it was time to move back into Supra ownership. This time I was after a nice, genuine NA manual which I could do some work to and make my own. I went to look at a few Supra's but decided upon a nice 63k example. It was imported in 2005 with one owner through until 2011 when it went to a trader and eventually ended up with the chap I bought it from earlier this year in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. It has loads of history, including the Japanese history to back up the mileage, along with a Cat 1 alarm and all the import stickers still in the windows. Bodywork was excellent, minimal stone chips on the bonnet and only signs of previous paintwork were the offside rear quarter being blown in (receipt for £100 odd quid suggests there was no filler work just keyed or similar). It is a 1993 model, as basic as you can get with no abs, no cruise control and no slip control - just how I like it Here's a few (poor) pictures from when I first went to collect it: Also a picture next to Josh42's red aerotop: Once home it was a quick check over, drive it for a couple of days to make sure all was good and get it in the works unit ready for work to begin: Along the way I found something I can only assume a sneaky little Japanese man has added:
  10. Bump - £15 collected, £20 delivered
  11. Awww too scared to man up and fit them?
  12. It's nice to see Sky Insurance backing this and getting involved, the extra publicity will be a bonus also as you have already mentioned
  13. I would also be interested in one of these
  14. The NA is alright for people who want the looks, road presence and Supra owners club without the running costs and initial purchase price. There are more than a few NA's on here that I would choose over some of the rougher TT's I've seen. Having said this, I've owned one TT and now own a NA. Whilst I know it's not the most cost effective way of doing things, my NA will be growing a set in the form of a NA-T conversion. I like Supras regardless of it being a turbo or not, but the disappointed looks people give you when you say it's a non turbo say it all, and as Jack has mentioned, it's nice to have the power to back up the looks.
  15. Good call, especially the flexi headed ones. I've been after a decent set for ages.
  16. 300mm steering wheel on a big car like a Supra is tiny! I'd go for 320mm or bigger.
  17. Lump hammer, it breaks solves everything
  18. Very nice mate, and I'm also not far away from yourself really. Based near Cannock.
  19. Not sure if it will help much but I'd recommend using a wheel sealant such as this.. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=9 It may help, and also prevents brake dust sticking as much etc.
  20. Hopefully it shall be built up, if not I shall ask Josh42 on here realllllyyyyyyy kindly if he fancies letting me jump in seen as he's only five minutes down the road. I should be there either way
  21. It does look like the start of corrosion just above the center cap on that picture. Assuming they're diamond cut, I don't think you can do anything to address it short of having the wheel face refurbed by someone like Ibrar of Speedwells.
  22. 1) Josh42 2) foxysupra + 1 (if he is not driving his bus) 3) RDS_1992 4) Spikedjack 5) Carl Kinsella 6) little num (maybe) 7) Nodalmighty (maybe) 8) ajlittler (maybe)
  23. I once only achieved 239miles to £100 of V-Power, can't remember the price per litre but it definitely raped my wallet. Think the best economy I ever had out of it was around 26mpg sitting at 70mph going up the M54/A5.
