  1. Cheers for all the suggestions ! Do like the look of the trial rears but need to get her serviced and get the cam belt done for peace of mind before I do much else. Also ordered two new 225/40/18 Falken FK452's for the front which should turn up tomorrow hopefully. Existing tyres have good tread but one has a ever so slight bulge in the side wall and It isn't worth the risk. Will have some more updates soon and it's on the road friday
  2. Thanks for the comments, and lol at the 'minty fresh' bit haha
  3. I was sceptical at first and everyone thought i was a plonker using toothpaste but I was suprised and like you say it really works! & cheers
  4. lol! and unfortunately it isn't vinyl, it's painted. Will be going all white eventually though...
  5. Quite fancying a 'Nardi' steering wheel, and cheers - they were really easy to do and look so much better than the scratched up rubbery appearance they had before imo.
  6. Finished the stereo install over the weekend, fitted a new armrest section (off keron on here - highly recommended), fitted painted dash panels, removed the front number plate but will be back on for road use and gave her a clean! Should be on the road by the end of the week
  7. Well, the stereo system that was in the car was dia. A previous owner had hacked the standard front speaker boxes apart to fit some other speakers into. The job wasn't the best and left holes etc. Having seen the template on here, I made up some quick speaker brackets out of 18mm MDF. After a first trial fit the door card didn't fit at all so some modifications were made, then mounted a new pair of MB Quartz 6.5" Components into the brackets. Whilst i was there I decided to sound deaden and seal the doors as best I could to improve the exceptionally poor mid-bass at present. I used Silent Coat Vibro Damping Door Kit from Caraudiodirect & then used a combination of the Silent Coat and Regular Flashing Tape to seal the doors up. Here's a picture of the outer door skin: & With the brackets in place and fully sealed: Here's the door card deadened with dynamat done by a previous owner: The result is outstanding, the mid bass exists now and the doors feel solid when you close them. Will be removing the rear speakers, as they sound naff and really no need for them. Also have tweeters mounted to the door cards as well but will post pics of that up when I've settled with the position of them. To go with the new speakers, I've also invested in a Pioneer AVH-3200DVD which should suffice for playing songs from my ipod. Will have some pics of the unit fitted along with the dash panels painted in the next day or two.
  8. Well, today I tackled a minor but all important task. The headlights were yellowing slightly and making the front end look dated. I stumbled upon a youtube video of someone cleaning up there headlights with toothpaste, and thought i may as well try it for myself. Here are the results on the drivers side headlight, slight but definitely a difference! And the product used, believe it or not! Obviously I have done the nearside to match, but overall not a bad job for a grand total of £0 and 15 minutes time.
  9. Here's Lucy, our westie! And my fathers dog Scooby!
  10. Regardless of what arches are on the car, i love it ! think it looks really smart mate! need to get some pics up of it clean though like you say
  11. Cheers for the heads up mate. Been eye-ing up goodies of whifbitz site all evening haha! could spend a fortune if I wasn't carefull. Thanks for the welcome as well !, seems an excellent club with lots of information.
  12. Has been advertised on here and also went up on autotrader. I'm great full for all the comments, hopefully will get some updates over the weekend

  16. Here's a few pictures of my new supra. Previously belonged to a member on here. Has a few goodies such as a turbo timer and a hks ssqv. The black stripe isn't t everyone's taste but it's grown on me and everyone who's seen the car in the flesh have said to keep it ! Unfortunately won't be insured on it until mid January but gives me chance to do a few jobs on it whilst it's off the road. Future plans include painting the dash panels anthracite grey metallic. Tidying up under the engine bay and maybe some leather bucket seats for the front. Oh, and a double din headunit with new components up front as the standard ones are dia. Would like to get it serviced though first of all, so any recommendations of decent places around the midlands would be welcomed. Cheers, Rich.
  17. as per pm, i'll give you a ring tomorrow around 5:30
  18. I'd love the black one but probably can't raise the money for a week or two. I might ring up and see how much he'd want as a deposit to keep it until next friday. Although that may be un-realistic and a bit cheeky i suppose Is the owner a member on here as they have another advert for breaking supra's ?
  19. http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_popup.jsp?did=28997&pageid=3&originalid=&gid=nogroup&tid=46&start=4&distance=0&adcategory=cars&channel=DEALERPAGE&id=201043371624805 Apart from the inside looking a bit tatty, what do people think of it ? I like the colour but i hate the front wings and bumper, thinking though you could sell the front wings and bumper and have enough to buy standard front wings + bumper. Has any one had any dealings with 'crest cars' buckinghamshire ? The supra I'd really like is this one below though but by the time my cars sold it will no doubt be sold http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2250679.htm I still fancy the idea of buying a n/a and converting it but the two above almost make it not worthwhile the hassle when i can buy a proper tt.
  20. Hi mate, i'm looking at a £3K budget for the supra and keeping aside a further £3K incase for a possible tt conversion in the future. There's a nice looking white one in the classifieds at the right price but isn't worth me registering any interest until nearer christmas. Thanks for all the welcomes !
  21. Hi, I thought I'd sign up as I'm in the market for a supra. I'm looking to buy a manual n/a, I've seen a couple on pistonheads that seem decent buys. Been reading a lot on the site and learnt quite a bit already ! Rich
