  1. Thinking of moving my spares on, not sure on current values? -Block has crank, all main caps, bolts, sump assembly and rear main seal retainer. -Head is in great condition, removed from a running car and sat around so it's a bit filthy, but no visible damage. All main caps with no scoring, and full valvetrain with buckets.
  2. Doesn't seem to make a difference from my experience. Seen plenty of manual cars running without the manual tensioner. My car still has it's auto tensioner and it's no slouch. It hasn't thrown the belt. For ultimate peace of mind fit it, it's there for a reason. Wouldn't worry me.
  3. Nice and oem! Have to say though, mounted a few toucans, never had to cut a hole in the actual dash panel before, just in the 'infill' piece placed in the vent hole.
  4. It's been so mild in the last few weeks, with plenty of rain to keep the roads clean, and warm enough to prevent the gritters emerging in my area...I thought the supra needed #onelastride of 2015. I took some crap pictures, enjoy! Also added a bonus bay pic from the NEC. I have many things planned for the car over winter. Will update as and when I get around to them. Merry Christmas All!
  5. Compression ratio and piston diameter?
  6. If you need someone to come help diagnose your car I will be in Fareham over christmas. Let me know as I can bring some spare vsv's and bits and pieces down to trouble shoot.
  7. On the road in 4th mine makes full boost at 3200rpm. Jamie's car with the Gen 2 and vvti made it at 2900rpm I think. That's the real world difference.
  8. Could it be that it was simply wavering between having a temperature limiter and surpassing the limiter? I.e. At the moment with the cold temperatures, my car is taking a very long time to get up to temp and the limiter is staying on for a long time. Do you have a colder thermostat fitted? Long shot I know... Alternatively, get the car to display the fault. Immediately download the logs and send them to someone who knows...!
  9. I thought those weld drag wheels were for a wide-body supra?
  10. Just like the rest of a supra, there is a nice, easy to follow instruction book for the V160, which is pretty much an idiots guide to repairing one. I pulled my V160 apart back at the start of summer to work out why it had a dodgy5-6th change, to find the cause of a tiny whine at cruise, and to reseal the casing which was leaking. Using the guide I was able to change a worn input shaft bearing(the cruise whine). I checked all the gears/synchros etc for wear/clearances. Replaced the broken pivot pin in the shifter arm directional reverse linkage(dodgy change). Finally I checked any clearances I could without full dissasembley and put it all back together with all new shaft seals and sealant on the case flanges. You will need a press and various different 'dies' for getting it apart. Some of the gears require quite a long throw, long jawed/toothed puller to get them off. I also needed to buy a 41mm 12 sided socket to get a lock nut on the end of the V160 layshaft off. Other than thst it's just a certain amount of care and mechanical competence required to service one of these things. Saying that I don't recommend everyone now goes home and pulls their box apart. You've got to be willing to accept it may well become expensive, when you get something wrong. The parts are also very expensive for these boxes now, and not 100% are available until someone starts (maybe) producing replacements.
  11. I see you've finally thought up a suitably gay name for the build, as is the fashion round here these days! :D
  12. It can come through years later. I've had my car 2 years, any paintwork it 'shad in it's life it had in japan. I have a tiny little patch that has appeared on the drivers wing only recently.
  13. Yeah, disappointed with the lack of brutality in that reply Karl!
  14. Don't feel the need to apologise to this creature Pete. You're a top bloke, you've put yourself out for us and your car is lovely. Your car is exactly what I was looking for. We have; - N/A 5 -N/A-T Aerotop -VVti Tip -UK TT Auto -Single 6 Speed That's a varied and vibrant display, showcasing almost every different way a supra can present itself. The cars are exactly what I was looking for, well cared for and used examples. The stand looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to the other members who came along chipping in. Lastly, feel free to post up some pics, both the underside and bodywork of your UK cars. I'd love to see how they compare to any of the cars we have.
  15. Also, as you referenced this thread; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?327735-!!!Supra-Required-Urgently-for-Classic-Car-Show-2015-at-the-NEC-in-November!!!!!! Please kindly take another look at this and tell me where I asked for a concourse example?
  16. Out of interest, do you feel either of your Supras are of a high enough standard to exhibit?
  17. Sounds like my mum...! Seriously, she sounds broken, and sometimes you just have to throw broken things away and find something new. Chin up, it can work. I've got an absolute diamond of a girl, and I just sort of fell into the relationship. Concentrate on living your life how you want and it the rest will come naturally.
  18. 5 cars and more members will be present for the whole weekend! Do come along.
  19. Check my build thread, I fitted an aluminium(tube nut/hard line) -8 feed line to my car. There's a picture of the -8 line next to the stock line which is definitely smaller. I think the stock feed is 5/16 internal 3/8 external diameter pipe. AN8 is 3/8 internal and 1/2 external(if talking about AN hard pipe). Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. Anyway, if you're replacing all. I'd do a single -8 feed, -6 return. -8 in the front of the fuel rail and -6 out the back. Big Aeromotive fuel filter and a single walbro 485 pump. That is fine on my car at around 700hp. Although it was mapped on a walbro 400 so I don't know the exact limit. As I changed to a 485 after for peace of mind.
  20. -6 is only slightly bigger than stock lines. How much power are you hoping to push? You'd be surprised what you'd get away with on stock lines, if you twin-fed the rail from the filter and used the stock return.
  21. Black cars = ears on. Anything else cut 'em off!
  22. As I said to Jake who ignored me...! Get some padding on that cage/tension set. In an accident, if the angle of impact is in the wrong place, your head will be whipped straight into it and the effect will be similar to being hit in the head with a ball peen hammer!
  23. Last call for this really, if we can't find a willing participant asap we'll have to do without! I did chat to Adam but Guernsey is a long way to come from at short notice lol
