  1. Why is everyone getting so uptight about this? How is it any different from the mass of other "my job sucks" stuff other people have posted? It's off topic, the content reflects this. If someone else posted that they had gone into work only to find their nice new desk has been replaced with a plastic coffee table would that thread be acceptable to the masses?
  2. No, honest - something that seems to be frowned upon around these parts, quick put on a show, pretend to be something you're not... not that your opinions mean a great deal to me of course.
  3. I still need to collect some more of them to get the project moving but yes it was me I'm thinking candlesticks at the moment but I could do with a side table for putting drinks on so you never know. £10 is a bargain but I'm trying to reduce my spending, some other artist can grab those ones and I'll see what comes along in the future
  4. Didn't I get some from you a few years ago? I would like to get a load of them for a project but they are heavy on the postage charges, if anyone local wants to donate please let me know
  5. That chunk at the back will be the part that controls the hi/lo I guess? As far as I'm aware hi/low HID bulbs move the filament up or down inside the glass bit to change the brightness, the plastic but probably contains some kind of mechanism to do this. Leave the metal bit on the end
  6. A few people seem to be doing that... oh hi jamesmark... The thought crossed my mind but there are too many scabby examples for sale at the moment and my lovely one would seem far too expensive.
  7. How come every UK in the country seems to be up for sale at the moment?
  8. No worries, you might get them even cheaper if you shop around some more. eBay isn't what it used to be sadly, too many people out to make money rather than try their luck with an auction sale.
  9. The tools are a bit disposable but the chests themselves are decent enough. http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Topchest-Rollcab-Combination-6-Drawer-Sealey-AP2200?sc=2&category=2268
  10. I discovered this again the other day - I think it would be lovely if someone purchased it from me now. Edit: I'll knock the price down to £100 posted now.
  11. A new son? Perhaps one that's taken some notice of what his mother likes during his lifetime?
  12. Sounds spot on to me
  13. Agreed, especially under the circumstances, it's hard enough for Matt as it is right now without someone posting things like that

What kind of compensation are you offering for the obvious distress this has caused?
  15. Jeez, what do you expect for free? Oh well, at least this thread has reminded me why I stopped posting up "bargains" like this. Ruddy whinge bags.
  16. That's a bit crap, at least it didn't cost anything though, there is still the chance of free chocolate, they just want you to work for it
  17. I think it depends on how good the chap who comes out is rather than the entire company being bad - I've seen them product some excellent results. Might be worth getting quotes from other similar companies in your area and perhaps a PM to "karl" who does that kind of work to see what sort of price he'd expect it to be for a repair like that. He's be able to give you an insight into what they will do at the same time I would imagine.
