  1. I bought them using money and no, the car they came from was imported from Japan and broken for parts so I didn't see it run, would have been nice to have done, supposed to be a rather quick machine.
  2. I still have them, the price is on the first post An absolute bargain really.
  3. Don't forget to order a couple of applicators and a few microfibre buffing cloths if you don't have any already
  4. It might give that extra 1% but it's mainly a gimmick IMO - Blue Velvet will make you very happy, smells good too
  5. It's a cracker of a car eBay tends to offer savings of a few quid and a lot of the detailing suppliers use it in addition to their own sites, on high-end stuff I'd be worried about fakes but on the cheaper stuff you should be OK I use http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk for 99% of my orders but everyone has their favourites, I haven't really heard of any really rogue traders that need to be avoided.
  6. You've obviously got the washing and drying thing sorted then - hard to keep black completely swirl free Any of the ones I mentioned above will be suitable for you, they all last pretty well but if you can layer them up they get even more impressive. They are all really easy to work with too, no effort at all to put them on or take them off. As Gav says though it tends to be a very personal thing, I've had some silly money Zymol stuff on my car next to waxes costing under £100 a go and couldn't tell any difference visually or after a period of a month or two, quite a bit of it tends to be hype, £30 can get you some really nice stuff If you do want to spend that little bit more Swissvax Best of Show seems to be very highly regarded, I need to use some others up before I try that out though. In the meantime you might get an idea of it from this: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=60353 I had the Dodo Double Wax they mention in this one on my bonnet for a while, next to the Zymol, it was almost identical on all counts: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=60321 But they have a new one called "Supernatural" that's a single wax and supposed to give similar results. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/cat_59.html
  7. How often do you intend to wax it? I've been testing a selection on the black Supra recently and was impressed with all of the following: Chemical Guys 50/50 Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Victoria Concours However a wax only gives so much, the wet look really needs all defects to be removed on the car first, something you can only really achieve with a good machine polish and plenty of time. A lot of people, posh car wash chaps included, will stick on a polish / wax with lots of fillers in to mask these defects, looks ace for a day, impresses the customer, but soon goes back to swirl city. I don't know what state your paint is in at the moment but it's pointless putting a good wax on unless you prep it well to begin with, that's where the wet look really comes from.
  8. My sarcasm alarm almost exploded after your first sentence
  9. Amusing bit... NbrCLlpb2x0 (May be NWS for some)
  10. It's almost as if you are trying to set a trap for me... *scratches chin*
  11. New? I don't think so. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=39000 for starters or http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=64881
  12. I could do with a few lifts over the weekend if you aren't doing anything.
  13. Is it likely to be worth more than £50 and is it on an exciting car?
  14. I just did one in 2 weeks and I was moaning, seems I got better service than expected, when I did the Supra one it was sorted in under a week.
  15. Now he gets to the point! OK, the registered keeper needs to apply to the DVLA to either transfer the plate to another car or put it on retention. In doing so they will need to post off their V5C and MOT certificate for these to be changed, the DVLA will post them a new tax disc and ask for the old one to be returned in an envelope that only has half the address printed on it. They will also send a form that allows you to go and get new plates made up without the V5C. Form V317 deals with the transfer of plates: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/PersonalisedRegAndNumberPlates/DG_4022576?IdcService=GET_FILE&dID=90894&Rendition=Web V778/1 is for putting them on retention: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/PersonalisedRegAndNumberPlates/DG_4022576?IdcService=GET_FILE&dID=90895&Rendition=Web It took around a week for me to do a transfer to a vehicle from retention recently but apparently they are really busy now and quote up to 4 weeks for the V5C to be sent back with the new details. Further reading: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/PersonalisedRegAndNumberPlates/index.htm
  16. Who else would it apply to? The car is registered with that plate, if you buy it then you own the car with that plate - if you decide you don't like it then it applies to you. Have you contacted any of the plate sales companies to see if it's worth anything to them? A lot of them have sections on their sites where you can request a valuation, they might cover transfer costs. What's wrong with the private reg anyway? GAY 80Y?

    Been offline

Welcome back, glad to hear you are sorted again. You were going to get us some pictures of the car back in Feb so we could have a look at the graphics and things, have you managed to upload any? We like pictures
  18. Paul sent me a PM earlier with some more info - it's the kit from the old Zenitani demo car - they are know for their Skyline work but obviously had a bit of a dabble on the Supra with some pleasing results HyperRev vol. 70, Supra 3 shows the car and some engine pics on page 50, I don't have a scanner at present but I've tried to take some pics to show how the turbos sit. Some trick pipework may be needed to feed that rear turbo (can you see me trying to put people off here?). http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/turbos/twins/hyperrev/hyperrev-01.jpg The HyperRev spec page says they are IHI RX-7 TCW15 P16 turbos but the text says "RH-6" which ties in with the RHX6 stamped on the ID plate so some ambiguity there still. So onto the fun bit.... 900ps @ 7000rpm @ 2.3kg/cm with an F-Con and lots of Japanese writing: http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/turbos/twins/hyperrev/hyperrev-03.jpg http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/turbos/twins/hyperrev/hyperrev-02.jpg If anyone can read these I'd be interested to know what they say And the car in question... http://www.megaboost.co.uk/supra/mine/turbos/twins/hyperrev/hyperrev-04.jpg I think I'm going to need a bigger boat.
  19. This is the Toyota one: http://www.megaboost.co.uk/old/pics/mr2/mk2/mk2-cupholder.jpeg It has a little shelf underneath I think - no idea if you can still get them but it might be worth trying some scrap yards.
  20. That's the one, the silver car. I have a pic of the front end, bonnet closed, and one of the fuel system in the boot but any other stuff would be really nice to have for my own reference even if it doesn't sell
  21. I think you must have used it all up in the other thread
  22. Would have been nicer without the flat sided arches IMO
