  1. I opened my garage, looked at it and cried [emoji22]
  2. That’s the only option really available. I’m just trying to source one or even go GTE or pre done NA-T
  3. Update: I finally got to take my car to garage and they done a compression test on the engine and the following was found Cylinder 1 = 100% Cylinder 2 = 60% Cylinder 3= 60% Cylinder 4 =70% Cylinder 5 = 60% Cylinder 6 = Didn’t check gave up [emoji23] They said the piston rings have perished at the bottom due to it not being used enough (20 Miles in 2 years) The options they gave me were Strip the engine and rebuild to stock NA £3500 Strip the engine and prep it ready for a future NA-T £5000 The labour rate was £60 ph and would be 46hrs Looks like it’ll be a garage queen for a few more years [emoji20]
  4. I’ll clamber underneath on a jack and tap with a hammer to see .. you’re an absolute diamond thanks mate [emoji1303]
  5. Yes the cats are in place infact now you mention it that’s the smell .. do you think they’ve could have collapsed inside hence the lack of drive/power(yes I know NA’s lack any power to notice anyway lol) ??
  6. Cheers mate I’m in Ashford It started off grey smoke but then turned black .. it was the smell that came out of the exhaust. It was rancid
  7. One thing I forgot to add is I’ve noticed water dripping out of the over flow for the expansion tank as well [emoji22]
  8. I put £25 of VPower in it when I ran it about a month ago so surely it wouldn’t of gone off that quickly?
  9. Afternoon all, My ‘94 NA auto has been sat in storage since last summer and about a month a go I fired it up but it seemed like the ICV was dirty so took it off and cleaned it up and replaced it. When I started it up this morning it fired up ok but will now only sit at 600rpm straight from start up. I took it out for a run of about 8-10 miles. It seemed to struggle changing gear and when I got back I just turned it off and gave the outside a polish. I thought I’d go for another run with it before I put it away but now it’s chucking out some seriously stinky smoke out of the exhaust. It started off white but has turned black now and really doesn’t want to go at all once it’s in gear. Have I killed it?
  10. I managed to get it down to a constant 1800rpm and took it out for another drive and it was still the same when I got home. Turned it off and restarted it and it’s now running at 800rpm so fingers crossed it might have sorted itself out. I’ll leave it to cool right down and see what happens when I try it again
  11. My 94 NA has been garaged for year or so and I decided to get her back on the road. I put a new battery on it and it spluttered in to life on the 3rd attempt. It then sat there idling outside my garage for about 15 mins with no issues at all and got up to temperature as normal. I turned it off while I was sorting some stuff out in my garage. When I went to put it away it started fine but started to surge on idle between 1500-2200rpm. On Saturday I took it for a 40-50 mile run putting some fresh fuel in and it’s still exactly the same on idle. I saw the ICV clean up thread so gave that a go but it’s still the same. Any ideas on what it could be?
  12. You could’ve driven through a deepish puddle at 20mph like I did [emoji20]
  13. My dad's 5spd NA with mine
