Do you know the guy as in speak to him ? It’s got some confusing details on the DVLA websites (mot and tax) as well as on a basic free hpi check. One has it down as a 3000 cc engine and another as 2954 of which both are incorrect. All UK cars were registered as 2997cc and one of the sites lists it as a 5 speed manual. It also shares the same engine number as another UK car which has significantly more mileage than this shell circa 122k when it was exported 5 years ago. It appears it had a manual box at some point and the original engine has been removed/sold and replaced with a second hand one. The way the engine number has been entered on the V5 as well is not how it would have done when first registered which again points towards a replacement engine. Strong money for a car that’s been messed around with.

I asked them and they confirmed this morning.

It is a 5 speed and the box has been swapped out.

Be interesting to know whether it was a typo or whether the gearbox has gone.

Other than the diff where is the best place for long term axle stands ?

I remember you having some nylon blocks made but these were custom one off weren’t they ?

I have thought this but thought it would be more stable using wider mounting points. Or am I overthinking it ?

I am going to be putting the Supra on axle stands and wanted to know what the individual rating should be per stand if there is one or is it combined axle weight ? I’d like ones with decent ground clearance too as I want to do some clearing up underneath over the winter if anyone has any suggestions. Also I want to know if any of these block / pads that are supposed to be able to sit on the sill actually work and don’t allow damage. If not what are the alternatives ?

I ended up going with NCP as it was half the price of the long stay and only a 10 minute transfer time.

Hi Everyone, I have booked to go away with the wife and we are flying from Heathrow. I originally booked everything through BA and have just been checking over the details but seem to have overlooked the parking ! I booked it through BA and I'm sure it was a self park one but it appears it isn't and it looks really shady so I need to rebook parking. I am not interested in meet and greet and definitely do not want someone else parking my car or having the keys so does anyone know of any carparks near by ? They are literally all meet and greet or ones where you drop the car off and they take your keys which is not something I would consider after a catalogue of horror stories from these kind of establishments. Ones I have found so far are: NCP Flight Path (Cheapest) Heathrow Long Stay Heathrow Short Stay Heathrow Pod Parking Any help would be appreciated !

You will need to find some other way of evidencing replacement costs. Probably will require an independent valuer if you are wanting to insure for top money.

The most useful tool I found when fighting for my agreed value was adverts of similar cars on sale at the time.

Imagine they will focus on the slam dunk cases to meet their quotas. You never know with the recruitment drive they are having it might get better ?

This has now gone a step too far and has descended into malicious hate fuelled garbage. There is no place for that on this forum and I am not bothered who started it the next person to do it again is earning themselves a punishment of my choosing. Completely the opposite I start rubbing my hand together as the rarity and value of my car goes up
