  1. Now the merc has lost party mode and the playing field has been levelled with the reg changes, there’s no excuses for the Hamilton haters to lean on when he’s winning races. In a race where it was advantage Red Bull, Hamilton showed why he has won 7 world titles, Max’s inexperience cost him on the last lap choosing the wrong place to try the overtake, leaving the track and having to give the place back. It’s a long season ahead and it’s going to be the best in a while. My money is still on Lewis taking title number 8.
  2. Hi Joe, Do you have a UK/euro spec car? As far as I am aware the diff cooler wasn’t on any other models.
  3. Seized starter motor? Immobiliser not disengaging? My money if the the battery is holding charge is that the immobiliser is preventing the car from starting? I’d start with the easy stuff first. What voltage is the battery showing? They don’t like being fully discharged especially for an extended period of time, even if you’ve charged it, the battery might be knackered. I’d invest in a trickle charger such as a ctek to keep the battery in shape and it will also be able to tell you if the battery is knackered.
  4. yeh a couple not on here.... ill pm you soon.... If you could pop them in a pm when you get a chance, I'd appreciate it
  5. Catch 22, we want prices to increase for when we sell but in the meantime it means that parts prices are also shooting up at an eye watering rate. I see over the next few year that cars will either have a chunk of money spent on them or they will be run on a budget with the owners who bought a while ago, unable to afford the supra tax that has been applied to parts.
  6. Lovely car, there will come a time when an N/A Auto is a rare care!
  7. Did you get an agreed value? If so, it would be helpful if you could share the agreed value and spec. My insurance is due next month and I'm looking at branching out to see who can offer me the best agreed value as well as cover.
  8. I'm quite happy with mine, so I wouldn't say no one wants them And when the time comes to let someone else enjoy the car, it will help the resale value
  9. Welcome to the club, lovely selection of cars.
  10. My previous garage wasn't a problem with the door being 2 metres wide but I now no longer have that luxury so I get what you mean, once I'm through the door I have loads of room either side! I don't know when folding mirrors came in but I can only guess that it was only an option on facelift cars?
  11. Did you buy this from someone in Chesterfield? Looks very much like one that used to come to the local meets and that last picture looks like the petrol station in Heath near the M1.
  12. Agree with this, if you think finding a J-Spec bumper is hard, finding a second hand UK one just doesn't happen. Most cars that go through the breakers have front end damage so the bumper is scrap, I agree with @Noz that you would be better placed finding a fibreglass one and putting the original into storage. However this is skirting round the main issue which is why you would want to get rid of them in the first place? Heresy!!
  13. I can’t imagine ever selling mine but I know when the time eventually comes it will be a hard pill to swallow.
  14. I can imagine the market for UK spec cars tightening up as owners invest decent money in restoring cars and not wanting to sell them! Lovely car

This. How long has it been off the road?

    New... me??

There was something that Mawby was trying to rectify in the back which inadvertently triggered these emails. Nothing to worry about and apologies.
  17. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one for sale!
  18. He’s pretty much fully booked all year round, as mentioned he has a big enough client base and reputation, to fill his books without the need for a website or dare I say it social media. As I type this, Chris has awoke in a cold sweat, next you’ll be saying he should take card payments!
  19. Interesting video Someone on another thread put it best when they said the mkv is a good car but it doesn’t represent 26 years of progress. This is a perfect visual representation of that.
  20. You can get them re-coned I’ve read, but I haven’t found anyone local that can do it but I can’t say I have looked that hard! When I looked a good few year are ago one side was discontinued and the other side was silly money so I didn’t bother, ended up getting a used set off Keron that I intended to have repaired.
  21. I have a spare pair that I have been meaning to see if I car get the refeurbed so I can swap them with the ones in the car. Interested to know if anyone has done this already? I haven’t seen a set in usable condition for a long time.
  22. It might also be worth contacting some of the US dealers that have stores on eBay to see if they can put the feelers out in the dealer network over there.
  23. I do not vouch for these sites so please do your due diligence when looking at them! This is based on the part you have highlighted in the EPC and using the product code associated with that part which is 17148-46010. The UK spec shared a lot of parts with the US cars as they too had more strict regulations around emissions etc There is only one part showing in the EPC but please do check with the vendor that this is indeed the correct part and don’t forget about import costs. If you google the part number there are more sites if the ones below have no stock left. https://www.nurduroot.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=528202 https://www.gmirdsi.top/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=677332 https://www.dsmcoflah.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=545077
  24. Good luck with it and keep the updates coming. How long have you owned it?
