I think its all to do with have the car has been used. The car has been garaged just about all of its life and mostly only taken out on dry weather so it hasn't been subject to much weathering. The cooler itself was in pretty good condition despite its age. I mean it might have already been replaced but I have yet to find a receipt to prove this.

Or when the second turbo was just kicking in .... I thought oh shit I hope it doesn't get written off I only had the bloody thing three days. I have made a reconstruction of what I did when I saw the brake lights enjoy ...

This makes no sense how can it fail for having a non standard exhaust ?? it could only fail on emissions or if its too loud not for the fact it isn't standard And unless the can is so low that it scrapes they can't fail the car for non standard suspension either. Sounds to me like the guy was on an ego trip or was having a bad day !! Either way i would be ringing up and complaining as this is a load of bull shit.

not on a tight budget it turned out to be a pipe rather than the cooler itself. I took the opportunity to replace all the pipes for peace of mind.

Yes that is the one it is a shed as I have seen it in person and driven it. The owner has washed it with a yard brush or worse And it has running problems and other problems I mentioned in my previous post. I was conned by the photos on auto trader which funnily enough don't show the rust or fubarred interior.

17k is on the high side but at the end of the day its worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

if your talking about the one from embankment cars then you are sadly mistaken. There is a reason it is 10k, the paintwork is horrendous and is rusty, wheels will need refurbing. You will need a new interior as it is beyond shagged. The alarm doesn't work properly so the only way to start is to disconnect the battery and fool the car into turning the immobiliser off. The car runs lumpy and constantly wants to stall when coming to a stop. It also done over 100k, so in short the amount of money needed to repair it to any kind of standard would bring back up to the so called ridiculous prices other people are asking for theirs. It is a shit heap to say the least and if the owner has treated the visible parts of the car like that I wouldn't like to think about how things such as the engine have been treated.

well scrap everything I have said had it up in the air and I didn't know the oil cooler for the diff was on that side and my trusted mechanic (been with for ages, friend of the family) says that it looks more like that but he can't tell yet until he has a better look whether its just a split pipe / seal or something else.

I think you have misread something here. I never said there was a clatter on tick over or that it went away when I depressed the clutch, what I did say was that there is a clatter when actually changing gear and that depressing the clutch stop the little rattle when when I turn the car off.

A single owner UK spec 96 will fetch good money but you are selling to a very specific market, so you could sell it in a day or it may take 6 months. What price were you thinking of putting it up for?

Can't find an oem one for less than 360 and that's from the states is it the same as the UK one? Is this about the right price? What difference will having a whiffbitz flywheel give me?

Yes to all the above Yes it does but if I depress the clutch when turning it off it doesn't rattle at all. So I have a worn flywheel then ? What kind of damage am I looking at from Mr T ?
