  1. Looks like he completely took his foot off the accelerator .. worth thing to do as it unsettles the back end. He should have just let off a bit and caught the slide but he sort of deserved for driving like a pudding.
  2. well not a car ..... but still pretty impressive
  3. having been in one that was a rental car (so stock) it was like it had no suspension in the back, I think this is down to the prehistoric leaf spring setup. Like I said when in the front seats between the axles its not too bad but by far the comfiest thing to drive. I'd definitely still have one though as they look the bomb !!!!
  4. Sitting in the back is the most bone shaking experience I have ever had, the front isn't too bad. The back of a supra is much more comfortable !!!
  5. best exhaust I have heard on a Mustang was a borla exhaust. Sounded like amplified thunder.
  6. This should be NWS as its pure pornography GLWS
  7. no problem mate and good luck
  8. you can do it yourself just edit the first post and got to advanced
  9. Just got my xs 3600 this morning will put it on on Thursday as I am using the supra Wednesday. Just reading through the instruction and this may sound like a silly question but the supras battery is negatively grounded right? And it says the negative should be attached to the chassis, where have you attached yours? Why can't you attach it to the negative terminal, again that is probably an obvious one too. Thanks for your help !!
  10. That's very true, its a great read as there is some interesting stuff in it. I do think some people are too eager to post questions than putting some down time into reading up on it. When I get a car my first port of call is a haynes manual which I read (most of it) so that if something does happen I have a rough idea of the problem. Before I got the supra I spent ages reading on here, this site is an amazing resource and the people on here a credit to it.
  11. My sister has had a few bumps in the car parks, one she ran down the side of an a4 avant and scuffed the rear passenger door. She payed for the respray of the door out of her own pocket as my dad knows a guy who does spray work and the guy was fine with it. Some people will only want to go through the insurance even though claiming off of someones elses insurance increase their premiums as it means they are more likely to claim on their own policy.
  12. I think you have to understand that supra's are getting cheaper and younger people are being able to buy them. So what may be obvious to you older people might not be to the younger more inexperienced generation who haven't had a great deal of hands on experience. I know this won't be the case for everyone as I myself have done all my own work on my cars as I love working on cars (not the supra but a 6 month oil change is on the cards). I am in now way condoning the length of this thread Just food for thought.
  13. Many people do this and the insurance companies prefer it as they don't have to pay out. Not sure on the legalities of it but there are a lot of cars sold as unrecorded accidents for repair.
  14. Have you flushed the cooling system as it sounds like a blockage to me. Are all the hoses getting hot? Do you get hot air in the cabin? It could also be an airlock in the cooling system.
  15. Bad times hope you get everything sorted chap.
  16. This is what I was going to say, would explain the high temp too.
  17. less than 3 metres, that wont even clear the supra as I have to have the rear to the garage so I can sit it snug against the fence. Our drive is not very wide unfortunately.
  18. Yes mate that would be a great help
  19. This just reminds of that company down London that was doing engine repairs or more to the case not. They were extorting their customers and threatening physical violence if they didn't pay up. Found the link, I got my car from down the road http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-13460544
  20. No it is under a storm force 4 on the drive, power point won't be a problem though as I can get it near our garage (dads workshop) which has power points.
  21. If your engine was scrap or too expensive to repair they would most likely just strip your engine for parts for the other engines they are refurbing. Unfortunately they will probably want a 2jz back
  22. Had a look and the reviews are very positive and so are your opinions of it !! Think I will get this one
  23. Here's my best guess. They buy astronomical mileage engines for a pittance change a few bits on them, then they sell it to you for a profit. Then you effectively sell them your engine for 250 quid which they work on and sell for a profit. You have no history of the engine so it could only last a year or two as their warranty only covers 6 months or it could last ages it's the risk you take. Its no more risk than buying a second hand car tbh.
  24. ta chaps will have a look at that one.
  25. I put .... I mean slipped on a cucumber ... can I catch E coli? It ripped through my trousers and boxers straight inside me via an orifice, what are the chances, eh ...
