  1. Depends how much you trust your friend and how much your insurance company would want for you to add a named driver. If you can get the right cover and you are happy for your friend to use it then it would be better than resting the car up a few months plus a whole lot cheaper. You'd also need to adapt your insurance cover if you put it in a lockup as Insurers do not like cars being stored away from your home address for long periods. I can imagine secure storage in London isn't going to be cheap. A cheaper option would be family or friends who can spare a garage for a few months.
  2. Look after yourself Dunk, glad your getting yourself checked out. Hope everything goes ok.
  3. Saw this before it went up but completely forgot about it, I estimated half a million so not far off.
  4. Unless it's had a replacement since being in the UK it will be on the V5.
  5. But quintessentially American. It's purposes is not to look aesthetically pleasing but to be big an intimidating which it does very well. There's a debate in the states now that these are getting too big and dangerous, so expect new legislation to come out limiting the size. It's not far off needing a HGV license to drive it here, imagine trying to park that in a supermarket car park, I bet it takes up 4 bays! Edit: Standard UK parking bay space is 2.4 metres by 4.8 metres Cadillac Escalade w/o mirrors is 2.06 metres by 5.38 metres
  6. Attack with chrome Escalade style !!
  7. There is one of these that goes to a testing station near me, I know the guy that owns the test centre and it literally comes out once a year to get tested then goes back into hibernation.
  8. If the temp is flying up that high the system would be over pressuring and coming out of the filler cap wouldn't it? If it isn't I agree that it is probably sensor related, unless there is a serious blockage somewhere.
  9. The forum has always and will always advise members to do their due diligence when parting with cash, ensuring they know their rights and protect themselves both financially and legally as best as possible.
  10. James has asked for his account to be closed, so he now no longer can access the forum. Preventing access to the forum is the extent of our remit in this case, we are not a legal body or involved party so have no additional powers to help outside of the dispute section of the forum. The forum has never offered anything above the dispute thread section as we can't. Removing trader status or banning people who either won't engage with the process or who the forum deem to be at fault is all we can do.

    @Al Massey is I think.
  12. So shiny! Coming on very nicely now.
  13. Prices for these vary hugely depending on condition. Pictures of any damage would be helpful and I assume these don't come with tyres? Recent sale threads would suggest that a mint set of wheels with centre caps (no tyres) are being advertised at £800+
  14. It would be great if you could share what it sold for if you'd be happy doing so? Will help those looking at agreed values and those potentially selling
  15. Coming along nicely now! Love the diffuser also but will it stand up to exhaust heat as it's pretty close?
  16. Was water actually getting into the car then? If so has it causes any rust issues with the boot floor?
  17. Looks nice. What's the legal thing with protruding wheels, is it the top of the tyre/wheel can't be further out than the arch?
  18. Thankfully I have mine done by someone I know well and I get a slot where I can wait. I even drive it on to the ramp unless he's there's as it's full of apprentices!
  19. Personally for a daily I'd stick to OEM, whilst CW pads are great they will create more dust than OEM. So it depends on if you want to be cleaning your wheels more often especially if you are doing lots of miles.

    Memory lane

Pretty sure that I came along to this as well Dunk
  21. I think I posted it in another thread but I stand by my statement that there is not point trying to understand Insurance providers as they all have their own special way of doing things! Cars like ours will most likely will be stolen to order rather than your everyday opportunist. Those kind of people will easily be able to find where your vehicle is located so being garaged is ultimately a moot point. You'd be better off building a moat round it
  22. There are so many things that would affect a premium and a insurers ability to insure you, and each one is different so there's no point in trying to understand it
  23. It's probably more to do with the fact it's parked on public property rather than private property such as a driveway or a garage. I would imagine that not being garaged would just make the premium higher.
  24. That aligns to what I think it should be. It's on a UK MKIV supra so it shouldn't be that early, I didn't want to influence anyone when I posted but it should be either 95 or 96 but based on the 6 above it doesn't follow the hand writing style. Amazing thanks. Thanks for that, the car is in the bahamas and it looks like private vehicles only have numbers.
