  1. There's the nice whine of a supercharger and then there's that Hopefully it is something that is simple like a vacuum leak and not an expensive repair on the SC. Have you took it for a test drive yet?
  2. Is that strap the only thing holding the battery? Would it not just slice straight through that in a crash?
  3. Actually it's more of an issue with classics as lower mileage is directly related to an increased price. Low mileage is a particular sticking point for many collectors and they'll pay a significant premium to get it.
  4. Not sure if what he has done i.e. displaying a lot of key information about the cars is 100% legal but no-ones kicked up a fuss yet. Perfect place for cloning cars that you know are in another country!
  5. They are different so not sure if a TT one would fit an N/A.
  6. Few more articles on the subject https://www.independent.co.uk/news/car-clocking-increase-odometer-motoring-a8850941.html https://www.hpi.co.uk/content/buying-selling/car-clocking-dont-get-caught-out/ https://www.admiral.com/magazine/news/crackdown-on-car-clockers-in-the-uk
  7. Amazingly it actually is not against the law and is legally allowed, hence the plethora of mileage correction companies. The law is that you must disclose any known mileage discrepancies to buyers and not mislead a buyer written or orally by stating or displaying an incorrect mileage i.e. in the advert or advert pictures Clocking and tampering is the act of altering the mileage to deliberately mislead a buyer about the true mileage. There's a good write up here about it oddly by Bromley council! https://www.bromley.gov.uk/leaflet/122658/4/675/d#tsi1
  8. My eyes need checking I didn't clock that when I looked at! I believe you are correct.
  9. You'd have thought these would be a fortune with supra tax and their rarity!
  10. If I had the space I would probably have a few cars too
  11. If you do I would extensively document it otherwise you will not be able to confirm the mileage upon resale if you ever do. Whilst it's not illegal to alter the mileage it is an offence not to inform any buyer of the mileage discrepancies.
  12. The mileage relates to the chassis and not the engine, I understand that you don't intend to sell but it will have a significant impact on resale value if you do. For changing the mileage, there are plenty of 'Mileage correction' companies out there that will do this for you. I can imagine there aren't many how to guides knocking about given the main reason people do this.
  13. Is it bad that my favourite picture was the dog They look beautiful Well it sounds like a lots happened but you should have a pretty future proofed car by the end of it! Is it right that the reg is coming back to a Blue Land Cruiser? Assuming it's the one in the below picture?
  14. Win win situation! It was pretty much the same deal with our house, the wife had say over everything else I just had to approve the garage dimensions
  15. Loving the garage! Took me ages to find a house with a big enough garage to fit the car in, you won’t have any problems with yours
  16. Well I guess as they are taking extra risk then they are passing the cost onto you. Ideally they’d have a machine that didn’t damage wheels and a competent tyre fitter, then it wouldn’t matter how much they cost.
  17. It was something that we talked about but ultimately didn’t go with at this time.
  18. Do tyre fitters look nervous when you hand them a wheel like that?
  19. The ironic thing about that though is those that want cheap and cheerful are probably more likely to claim than those that want more cover i.e. Agreed value. My car does less than 1000 miles a year at the moment, I have a dash cam and I drive much more consciously in it because I am all too aware of the muppets that lurk everywhere who aren't that bothered if they hit something.
  20. It is strange as the underwriter is the same so the policy should be the same, it might be slightly different prices as the brokers negotiate different discounts. Just feels like that Sky didn't want to do the leg work.
  21. At the moment, you need to keep an eye on values all year and if they go up significantly then you need to be getting the car revalued mid policy. I am happy at the moment, Lancaster have given me a good agreed value that I am happy with for now. It'll be a fight again next year but insurance companies aren't going to willing increase your value without you being persistant!
  22. Same here for my Supra, they have been responsive and helpful over the years with any questions I have had. Always polite and knowledgeable on the phone, I always seem to get someone who has owned a Supra at some point too The final part of the puzzle fell into place this year when I finally got the agreed value I wanted in line with what other people were getting for similar cars at alternative insurers.
